  1. It would be bad for Sam Houston and Milby (moreso Sam Houston) to get opted up to 6A. Sam Houston is just not very good, and staying in 6A would further continue that. They're not likely to be good in 5A, but could at least claim a bit more of a chance. HISD opted Chavez up last realignment, but not Westbury, even though Westbury had a higher enrollment. So Idk what their thinking is when it comes to that. They should just leave those schools where they are, but I highly doubt they do that.
  2. If PNG were to opt up to 5A D1 for this next round of realignment, I assume they'd be back in Region III, and if they are, they'd be sharing it with Randle (for sure) and Iowa Colony (maybe). Angleton and La Porte could move up depending on what the cutoff numbers are, but replacing them with Randle and IC would be just as tough, if not tougher. And you'd still have PA Memorial
  3. Anyone know what the projected 5A D1/D2 cutoff will be?
  4. I believe that I saw Tenaha is open
  5. Openings so far: 6A Round Rock Stony Point Arlington Sam Houston Fort Bend Austin 5A Donna North Weslaco East Lake Dallas 4A Life Waxahachie 3A Queen City 2A Hemphill
  6. Interesting if that happens, I wonder what the 5A D1/D2 cutoff would be.
  7. 5A D1 Region 3 is gonna be insane! Randle PA Memorial Angleton La Porte Iowa Colony (maybe?) Fort Bend Hightower Manvel (maybe?) Even without the 2 Alvin ISD teams, that would be a crazy tough region.
  8. The enrollments were supposed to have been submitted by last Friday. Cutoff numbers will be released sometime before the state championship games. The official realignment is the first Wednesday in February.
  9. Houston Wisdom vs. Houston Chavez (some of my old players have a chance to clinch a playoff berth for Wisdom, first one for the school since 1979!) and a few of my friends are still on staff. Saturday, we play Randle. So... yeah lol
  10. Strength of district doesn't have much to do with anything once you get to this point of the playoffs. Because for as weak as SOC's district is, they just handled a Huntsville team that: -Only lost to PNG by 3 -Beat Nederland, who beat PNG. Transitive property also doesn't have much to do with the outcome of the upcoming game, just wanted to prove a point. I think SOC wins a close one. But these teams know each other now. It's a playoff rivalry a la North Shore/Duncanville now since they seem to meet annually. Wish I could go to this game, but I don't feel like making that drive. So I'll watch the potential state championship game opponent for either team (Randle v Iowa Colony)
  11. I knew I wouldn't be disappointed coming to check this thread out. It delivered.
  12. for Baytown Lee: 8/26 - South Houston (home) 7 p.m 9/2 - Clear Brook (away) 7 p.m.
  13. Heights isn't bad either, I don't think...
