This reminds me a lot of Augie at UT. Some of their fans are ready to get rid of him with this years slow start and 0-2 showing at the CWS last year. Baseball is different in many ways from the other sports. Football coaches call the plays so when boneheaded things are done it's on them. Baseball has a manager not head coach. He manages the game and there hasn't been a game I've seen a dumb move when he was leading the way or when he was suspended. I have seen multiple errors made, a lack of clutch hitting and injuries. Errors and slumps are on the players not the coaches. This is a huge reason why I like Pat Knight, he says it like it is. Players weren't performing. This society we live in now always wants to blame someone else.
Based on that argument - no coach should ever get fired. Despite the fact that the Coach is the one that brought these players that can't perform to the program. If Pat's players just didn't perform for two or thre years, do you think Pat telling Simmons that it's all on the players is going to save his job? I don't.

He nneds to step aside. However, I don't think the administration will do anything about it. It's hard to replace a guy who coaches a team that plays on a street named after that coach. That being said, he does need to step aside and a new up and coming assistant somewhere needs to replace him.
Isn't those up and coming assistants responsible for recruiting?
I meant an up and coming assistant somewhere else!

A lot of times quarterbacks are recruited to play other positions. Many times the best athlete on a high school team is simlpy put at QB, but he is suited to play another position as well, if not better.

Southland in ESPN'S Bracketology

13 is probably stretching it - but I can see a 14 seed, more likely a 15 though. Biggest thing is - just win baby! -
We do take that drive - but we enjoy it more just for the time to be together and talk - and point out cows and horses.

Have been to all but one of the home football games. I made it to a basketball game last year and a handful of baseball games as well. It's a good thing to take the oldest boy - who is 5 - to. Plus we both enjoy the drive over from Humble.

Roby - Had no idea that Ty was playing for Incarnate Word. It makes me feel old that all those kids that are Ty's age are in college now. I would have come over and said hi had I known you guys were there. Congrats to Ty and good luck the rest of the way. Chris Rucker -

Me the wife and the five year old all went out and made it through the first half. After that, the five year old had had enough. -
Sports 790 is reporting that it's the Colorado Rockies. Who knows what will happen as far as trade prospects.

But when he inheritied it , the farm system was by far the worst in baseball. don't forget that the cornerstones that are part of the Phillies now were all brought on board under Ed Wade's watch.
I cant remember what year it was but I do remember when Lamar Took Texas to a final game and was one win away from the Super Regionals, would lover for em to get back to that level!!!
Should have won that game. Bill Bates (UT 2b) still hasn't touched home plate.

Anybody received their tickets in the mail yet?
Ruckdad replied to puddin tane's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
On Friday I was told they will be mailed in late July /early August. -
Well, recruiting is on G as well. If he isn't bringing in the talent to get it done, then maybe someone else can.
-
Thank you Coach G for all you've done for this university, but it's time for a new direction.

ANOTHER CLASS ACT FROM LAMAR
Ruckdad replied to Reddykilowatt's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Took health from him as a freshman and really enjoyed him. Later on took a basketball officiating class from him and he really understands the game and how to play it and how to call it. I am glad that the administration has cotninued to keep him involved with the program. -
The men's team is currently competing in the East -Virginia Tech regional of the NCAA tournament. About halfway through the second round they are about twenty shots off the pace. The top 5 teams advance and Lamar is nine shots off that pace. They are playing much better today than they did yesterday, and it's gonna take a relatively low number tomorrow, but they can do it.
