First of all it wasn't on national television - when is the last time the Rangers were on national television. It was regional television (and it was the Rangers - so like maybe two dozen people actually saw it) and he really didn't say anything that inflammatory. Josh Hamilton is the feel good story because he is taking advantage of his second chance and all indications say that his life is on track. Bradley has had like seven chances and never seems to have his stuff together. Running up into the press box just illustrates that point.

I think that since Arthur made it through the NCAA clearinghouse process, KU should be in the clear. If the NCAA didn't know about it, how can one school be expected to know.

This was a reach in the first round but they addressed need. I would rather they had gone best arm available or best talent available. Castro was expected to go around 28th or so, so he moved up quite a bit. Munson was not the answer at catcher. There is a reason he isn't playing with anybody else right now either. He's currently hitting .165 with Mikwaukee's AAA club.

Today is a big day for the future of the Houston Astros. The MLB draft begins today, and Wade and Bill Hecht have the reponsibility of repairing all the damage done to this franchise by Tim Purpura in his short stint as the GM. The Stros need a lot of their picks to pan out in this draft if they want to be cometitive in the next three to four years. Look around the league. The teams that are most successful right now are doing it with young talent brought up through the farm system. The days of buying championships are just about over and the draft has become way more important.

It was time. Hopefully the designate Coach Spencer can pick up some better recruits and get Tech competitive in the Big 12 again.

#1 seed UTSA has been eliminated by TxAM-CC 12-10 although the Road Runners made it interesting scoring four runs in the botttom of the ninth and having the tying run at the plate before the last out was recorded.

I'm opposed to it simply because of the time it will add to the game. They're already thrre + hours long now and approaching 4 hours in the playoffs. And MLB is on this kick to quicken games as much as they can - so these two ideas are contradictory.

I just sent a message to the webmaster asking that the football tab be added. Probably won't do a whole lot but it makes sense to add it now that the coach is hired.

He definitely came out and questioned ownership and their willingness to open up the checkbook and get the club over the hump. that didn't sit well with Uncle Drayton who shipped BW off to Philly to make room for the signing of Pettite. To this day Wagner will admit to anyone that asks that he burned some bridges in Houston and got himself traded for his big mouth.

As long as we have a lot of good recruits, local or not, and we win, there will be people. This has to be done right, and limiting your talent pool to local kids is not the way to go.

What he does have going for him is the promise of playing time. There will be no upperclassmen ahead of these young men that he is recruiting. Thye will all be on equal footing when it comes time to set the two deep roster.

If he had no intention of leaving West Brook, then why did he apply for the Lamar job? Put yourself in his shoes, a chance to coach at the next level, and if you are successful (which he has to believe he will be) you then have the opportunity to coach a bigger program. What high school coach, especially one with prior college experience would not want to have the opportunity? If Todd Dodge would leave the Southlake Carrol job, there is nothing holding Stump to West Brook. And if it's not Stump, great - he's doing great things over there, and as an alum (class of 94) that makes me happy.

I haven't seen any reports that say the intimate relationship started at 21. What I have seen said that the physical relationship began after she had become a star. SHe signed her first record deal at 19, but we don't know all the facts. And I said if the rumors were true. And a criminal is a criminal. However, being a criminal doesn't necessarily keep one out of the Hall of Fame.

So are we just glossing over the fact that, if the performance enhancing rumors are true, that he is a criminal, and that if the McCready story is true, he could be a statutory rapist and by default a sexual predator?

Granted, it was not "appropriate". But McNamee is hoping people make the jump from "inappropriate friendship" to "he was doing her", even if that isn't the case. Additionally, Clemens doesn't deny the relationship, just the status of it. Would I be okay with my 15 year old in that situation? No...but then again, I'm not Mindy McReady's mother. As to the problems McReady has...look at this...supposedly, this was a 10 year relationship. McReady is 32 now. They met when she was 15. So that takes us up to 25/26. Does that mean that Clemens saw the problems McReady had, helped her financially, but didn't allow her around his kids anymore? The math tells a story too. Now Hector - you're making assumptions. You're making the assumption that McNamee or his lawyers authored this story or leaked it or whatever. There is no evidence of that. Just because Rusty Hardin says it, doesn't make it so. McCready has said that there is nothing in the story that she could deny. The NY Daily News has plenty of sources for anything Roger Clemens related other than Brian McNamee.

I like it but would prefer to lose the stripe in the middle and just have solid white background. How about a red helmet with the LU insginia in white with a white facemask?
