Not everybody was happy with the performance. Los Osos coach Dave Smith called it "a joke," Smith said Chino Hills players fouled on purpose to prevent his team from running out the clock and stopping Ball from scoring more. "That's wrong," Smith said. "It goes against everything CIF [California Interscholastic Federation] stands for. The Ball boys are very talented and great players, but it's embarrassing to high school athletics. I've been coaching for 35 years, and we've turned high school athletics into individualism. "It's amazing to watch a kid score that many points. But it's tough to say that's what CIF athletics is about."

In the local media's defense, look at the total number of posts on this website for each category mentioned. Maybe the media coverage is a reflection of what their viewers demand. If I move up north, does it make any sense for me to complain and make truthful statements about ice hockey getting more coverage than hs football?

If you don't see a problem with sucker punching an unexpecting, defenseless victim, then you will say the punishment to the Silsbee player is too harsh. The same people that think this punishment is too harsh usually are not repulsed by head-stomping an unconscious person at the end of a fight. I love a good fight as much as anyone, believe me. But what is considered acceptable has changed dramatically, especially with the younger generations. This punishment seems appropriate to me and I am one who has punched and been punched many times in my life. If you've known "bad" people, then it is easy to tell that Devon is NOT a bad kid. I hope he learns from this and does nothing but great things from here on out. A lot of that will depend on those closest to him right now and in the future.

I may be in the minority here but I like the Memorial band playing in the gym. But then again, I'm not trying to communicate to players or fellow teammates either. I may be one of the few opponents who love the Central band during football games also. It's gets this old man fired up!

What is Ozen's overall record and who did they lose to? I'm a little surprised Ozen hasn't cracked the TABC Top 25.

I always love seeing those numbers. So many of us thought we were going to the league, especially if we started as freshmen at a FBS school. It just ain't that easy. Lol. Get that degree!

I'm curious about this score as well. This game was big in deciding a playoff spot and how teams could be seeded.

Central beat us like we stole something. Don't know the score but it was about 20pts. The game was never in question. Congrats to Central on an impressive win. We got beat in every statistical category in the book.
