What could be bigger than tyler leaving?
-
Just to put this into perspective for some of us, can someone tell us what "The Butch" cost to build? I see no reason to ever build anything bigger or "nicer" than that. And that would only be if multiple schools were utilizing it like is the case in BISD.

New coaches in Lumberton

McCormick came with Jehling and leaving with Jehling. -
Good luck to both teams tonight.

I have no idea. But they have 2 exceptional pitchers and pretty solid from top to bottom in their lineup. I don't really know what Porter has but I was trying to give them something to put on their bulletin board. :-) In baseball, anything can happen. Especially in a 3 game series. Good luck to all teams playing this weekend.

I'll go out on a limb and say that PNG run-rules Porter both games.

The best way to help your players become more religious is to schedule practices on Sunday and Wednesday. All of a sudden, everybody gotta go to church. :-) -
That's not exactly what I meant. I'm thinking more along the lines of a kid who either played B team in middle school or was cut from the team but continued to work extremely hard. Maybe he still didn't make varsity until his junior or senior year and ends up playing ball in college somewhere. Just a thought. Not everybody has a 30" vertical and can palm a bowling ball. Just trying to give some props to those over-achievers.

Just curious, are Lil C and Sneed "team" players or "me" players. Some players can sometimes be treated differently depending on how people think about them. Just a thought. -
Beaumont West Brook Job

Better hope too many don't come all at once. There is only one ball to share with all those great transfers. -

This is just a guess, but one of the first things many people heard about Sneed was an incident at Ozen involving him getting jumped. Then there is the issue of BISD academic problems, administrators going to prison with more to soon follow, teachers assaulting students, a report of a rape at Central, etc, etc. So quite frankly, there are numerous reasons why a parent may choose to move their child from BISD to any number of local ISDs. And I don't say any of this to slam Ozen or BISD, I'm only answering OzenFinest and DVs questions about why the transfers are talked about or not. -

Why do you need clarity on where the young man is currently attending school? -
I made no comparison between Babin and Neauman, Cornell,. i can't speak for any comparison the BC fan might have made with Dubois. I also didn't say that Larry and his group were lazy. What I did say was, " we had an AD and HFC who would never try to outwork anyone. His style was to try and outsmart the opponent and to not even prepare or perform when you were the underdog". That is not my opinion. This is something Larry was not shy about telling anyone who would listen. He felt like it was his job to look at the schedule and determine who he had a reasonable shot of beating in order to make the playoffs. He would then gameplan for those games. The games he clearly stated that we had absolutely no chance of winning (Central, PNG, Nederland) he would not prepare or gameplan for. These are undisputable facts known throughout the Lumberton community and heard by multiple people straight from the horse's mouth. Now does that make him evil and a bad human being, NO. Does it make him a poor fit for the youth of Lumberton, absolutely. Babin is a much better fit for Lumberton and I expect him to recruit many other coaches who believe and practice the same way.
-
Absolutely! I believe that is what you see at schools like Nederland and WOS. You'll have a hard time outworking either or those schools and they have the coaches in LN and CT to outsmart you.
-
I won't speculate as to why "some" of the coaches are leaving but I will make a couple of observations. First, some of these coaches were here before Babin arrived. Second, before Babin arrived, we had an AD and HFC who would never try to outwork anyone. His style was to try and outsmart the opponent and to not even prepare or perform when you were the underdog. If you want proof of this, just compare the scores from 2 years ago to last year. 2 years ago, we lost to Bmt Central 68-7 on a slow turf in Lumberton. Under Babin this past season, we lost 27-20 on a last second, hail mary pass on fast turf at the Butch. We were still smaller and slower than Central so how does that happen? There is only one way that happens and it's called Hard Work! And hard work, day after day is not for everyone (coaches and players). We may not win every game, but under Babin's leadership, the Raiders will never be outworked and our opponents will know they were in a fight at the end of the night.
-
Don't know the actual number but I've heard that number includes coaches who were "non-renewed" recently, a girls basketball coach and 1 or 2 other non-football coaches. I believe Lumberton athletics will be just fine. Still have a lot of great coaches and Coach Babin will continue to bring in quality coaches to replace the ones that are leaving.

Probably Jason Parker who pitched against Ned last time. He's 5-0 on the year.
