  1. I told you guys that Vidor is a year off contending in 20-4a. They are young . Hopefully they can continue to play hard and get better
  2. Nederland held off Ozen for a 6-4 victory. Again, Ozen was decimated with costly errors. They made 5 total errors. Deston James pitched a great game for Ozen recording 11 K"s. Josh Gardiner led the hitting for Ozen going 3-3 with HBP, Albert Lott went 1-3 with a sac fly. Ozen starts 5 soph and 2 juniors. They are young but just maybe they will get it together an challenge 20-4a for a district title next year.
  3. Great pitching performance by Brandon Powell. 1 hit and 16K's. Ozen is not a good hitting ball team right now. I know that they are a young team but they bettter learn the approach to hitting or they will be in trouble. Soph pitcher Josh Gardiner, although he did not have his best stuff, only gave up 2 hits in 5 innings. PN-G scored all 6 runs in the 2nd inning on 4 errors by Ozen. PN-G 2 hits and Ozen 1 hit the entire game.
  4. I think that Casey Jackson(soph) for Bridge City is one of the best offensive catchers you will see. He also has a very strong arm and blocks the ball really well. He is one that can and probably will play on the next level
  5. SETXBaseball no disrespect to you or Vidor, but I think that Vidor may be a year away from making the playoffs. They are young and they are good, but with young players you have inconsisitant plays. I still think that 1 LC-M 2 Ned 3 PN-G
  6. Actually, Deston James for Ozen pitched an excellent game. He left in the 5th inning with a 14-2 lead. Relief pitching did not get the job done, plus Lumberton started hitting the ball.
  7. i was at PN-G's game against Ozen and all I can say is that either the Soph pitcher that Ozen threw is really good and kept the NDNS off balance or the NDNS are just not that strong as people may think. Honestly, i think it was a combination of both. The NDNS were have been consistantly making too many routine errors. Stone has a heck of a young group of players that he may have to start playing if his seniors don't start producing
  8. can not forget Casey Jackson Bridge City
  9. Todd Wallace WB Thad Lycan WB Josh Gardiner Ozen Albert Lott Ozen Eric Harrington PN-G Jon Carnahan PN-G VJ Bunner Vidor McFarland Nederland Ryan Sampere Nederland Chris Raggett Ozen
  10. is Ozen gonna get some respect or is it too early to tell
  11. Both teams looked relatively good overall. Errors are part of the game, and yes, both teams made some errors. But I can assure you one thing Coach Stone realizes that he was in one heckuva fight with Ozen's Super Soph pitcher Josh Gardiner. Take nothing from Harwood. He pitched an awesome game. Ozen just have to hit a little better as a team. The Panthers did however minimized their errors on "D". If this game is any indication of how 20-4A is gonna be, then this will be a heckuva district to watch. GOOD GAME PANTHERS AND NDNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. I once witnessed a HR hit by a player from Port Arthur Lincoln, Terry Miller. The ball went over the center field fence (405ft) and landed on the Moreau Building at Memorial Park in Port Arthur. Must have hit it 450ft
  13. No disrespect, but who has Vidor played? I honestly think that 20-4A is gonna be more interested than most people believe. Yes, you will have your usual LC-M, Ned and PN-G. But those teams better not sleep on Ozen and Vidor. Ozen aren't deep in pitching, but when DD Lott, Josh Gardiner or Michael Darkins pitches, the Panthers have a good chance of beating anyone in 20-4A
  14. Ozen looked impressive on offense, but they still need to minimize their errors on "D". Josh Gardiner scattered 5 hits over 5 innings, struck out 6 and helped himself at the plate going 2-3 and rbi. DD Lott continued his hot streak going 3-3 w 2rbi's. Senior Cisco Wingate 2-4 w/ 2rbi's. Mike Darkins got the save and Soph Chris Raggett played exceptional defense. A much needed win for the Panthers.... GOOD GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. I heard about Ozen. They were totally overpowered. 3 of the 8 teams in that tourney are ranked in the top 25 in Texas. Coach Thomas and his Panthers better get some pitching or it could be another long tourney this wkend and a long district
  16. I strongly agree with BCBBall. There are several factors that make a team successful. I have seen teams stacked with talent and couldn't win it all, then I have seen a less talented team with good coaching and timely plays get the job done
  17. I have noticed that most teams in 20-4a are struggling. Do you think that this district may have more pairty than expected
