1. I was hoping. No need to justify that list.
 2. Yeah I saw that too.  Forbes right? Forbes magazine must be full of setx haters.  I say we write some hate mail to Forbes magazine expressing our disgust toward all setx haters.
 3. Well...one time I met a guy that knew a guy that read something one time about a good female driver. Haha
 4. By the way..it really is funny. And you can call me naive, stupid, outdated...whatever you want. I just refuse to believe. Way I see it..not all cops are corrupt..not all women are bad drivers..and most coaches coach to win. I can't help it. Check the name...I have too much "old school" to feel otherwise.
 5. Isn't Silsbee pretty good? I thought that was clarified..a freshman is starting or playing a lot for a good team then he must be a heck of a player.
 6. Only 2 reasons a freshman would be playing a lot in high school boys sports or all college sports. 1. The kid is a stud 2. The team is terrible
 7. If they're not good enough to do it the entire time put them on JV. Every minute of a JV game will benefit more than "come off the bench to knock down a 3" in a varsity game. Can't replace game experience. Trust me I have no problem with the playing of younger kids. If a freshman is as good as a senior...the freshman plays everytime in my opinion. But if they aren't gonna play a lot...give them minutes on JV.
 8. My point remains the same. Can't be too many freshmen making impacts on boys varsity teams. And on another note...if you have a freshman not good enough to start, why have them on varsity
 9. I think it's dumb to say top 10 freshmen. There can't be that many freshman that even start in the area. So I would say top freshman.
 10. HD wins.....one more time. The hd move-ins are too much for the hornets this year. This will be the last time the bobcats win this game though....maybe ever. In fact,  I wouldn't be surprised if this game doesn't get scheduled again. I predict HD to have 12 wins over the next 5 years. And Hardin won't be any of those. for those of you that don't like my comments....sorry. Brutally honest is the only speed I go.
 11. I'm ready for Daisetta to lose all internet capability....so we can stop reading about the football team. You're calling Burkville football?.. I'd rather watch chickens lay eggs all day than watch a scrimmage involving either of those teams.
 12.
Considering they are EXTREMELY short on coaches I wouldn't expect more than 1 win

How many coaches does Liberty have this year?  How many is needed to win?
7thA, 7thB, 8thA, 8thB, Fr, JV, V. You need 2 coaches per team, plus OC, DC, and HC. That means you probably need around 15 or so coaches (give or take) in order to be on par with everybody else. The more coaches you have, the more players get individual instruction and reps. Plus, you can work on more things at once. That's why schools with more coaches have an advantage.

Coach Finney probably is an excellent coach. But,  you take away those move-ins and HD is absolute trash.  When this season is over and most of those kids graduate....I bet Finney is on a plane out of Houston going back to where ever he came from.  Things are about to be real bad in Bobcat land after this football season.  Might want to transfer your kids now before it's too late.
What class there old school. I guess your high school is great every year. jwp when you make a statement, you should use a period and a question mark when you ask a question.
Ok.  I'm gonna get some ridicule for expressing my opinion on this site?  And a grammar lesson?  ON THIS SITE?  That's fine. That's why I don't get involved in very many of the conversations.  haha Don't be mad because somebody thinks that HD is the armpit of southeast Texas.  I know they have some rich football tradition...but they've won 2 playoff games in 30 years!!  Things change people... I'm just one of the few that see the change coming. Grammar lesson....HAHA!!

 15.
Well it took me awhile but I can finally talk. Some of you know that I am Brock Pryors dad and it I got the shock of my life this year. Brock received several offers to play football from full rides to partials. The family was so excited as he had put in alot of work and we had taken him all over to camps, combines and visits. He decided on some schools and aalll was  good. Then bam he comes to me and says dad I don't want to play football anymore. I think my heart stopped. He continued to explain that he loved playing for Nederland and Coach Neumann but he wanted to be able to walk and think when he was my age. Brock said I just want to go to college get a degree and go to work for one of the refineries. I sat and listened in disbelief. After talking to several people and talking it over and over and over with Brock, I finally accepted it. I am proud that he came to me face to face and was man enough to stand up for what he wants. He has made us proud . So it is good to be back.
This was without a doubt a very grown up decision to be made, especially by an 18 year old kid.  I think that the parents should be very proud and that they did a good job from what I can see.  Parents should always be proud of their kids, especially when it shows a reflection of the kids raising. Having said that...  I also think that this is an absolute travesty.  I think that a big problem that I see in this part of the state is the fact that talented kids end up ''staying home''.  For whatever reason.  There is one window in a person's life when they will get this kind of opportunity.  Pass that up... and regret is what you'll get for the rest of your life. I played 4 years of college ball and it was the greatest experience of my life to date (other than my children and my wife).  I can't even imagine what I would've felt like now had I not gone through that.  Yeah I had no life, had 3 hour practices 5 and 6 days a week, and went through absolute hell... but I have 2 championship rings, lifetime friends, and an experience that you cant buy to show for it. 4 years out of a lifetime is all you get.  Those refineries will be there whether you are 18 or 28.
 16.
I just looked up some numbers. less than 3% of HS athletes play at the college level...and less than .25% go pro....a terrible investment by any other standard.
Well if that's what we're going to base this argument on... I just looked up some numbers too.  Only 23% of jobs in the country actually require a college degree.  Want to talk about terrible investments?..  What is the percentage of kids that will go pro in History or English Language Arts?  What about the number of kids that will be a "professional" using Algebra?  I mean if we're going to discuss investing in stuff, then we need to get rid of sports altogether (because there is only a .25% of actually making money in sports).  We need to take 1 out of every 4 students and put them through college readiness classes, and take the other 3 and put them through vocational and job skills classes.  That will also save us some money that we waste on core teachers...since they won't go pro. Also, how much money is being wasted on all these tests?  Lets get rid of all of it.  I mean, since it has no bearing on getting into college.  All you have to do is make good grades at a JC then transfer.  Come to think of it....we need to just make a list of all these wasted investments and petition to the state to get it taken care of.
 17.
Let's see.  Lumberton was one game from making the playoffs this year (prob much better than most predicted), and the coach gets fired?  He has also done a good job building the under levels of the basketball program.  Coach Wueller has put them in contention to be playoff contenders for the foreseeable future, and he is replaced by a girl's coach with no experience on the boy's side?  Sounds like a good 'ole boy network hire to me.  I hope the AD will hold himself to the same standard that he has Coach Wueller.
2 things... 1st... Josh Mitchell was the assistant boys coach at Hardin the 1st couple of years Haynes was there.  Assistant to a team that would have no doubt beaten Lumberton in basketball...  They split with both Kountze and EC who ended up in regional tourney.  2nd... ALL athletic directors hire people that have worked under them before.  They're familiar with what the A.D. wants.  It's not "good ' ole boy".. it's just how things are done.
 18. Anderson kid from Hardin.  51 pts vs. Anahuac. 10 3's
