Which part of my post wasn't true? The only bias shown towards anything I ever say in regards to the HD Bobcats is revolved around the astoundingly popular opinion that you die hard HD fans are the most fun to mess with. Due to your blindness to any truth that reflects the FACT that HD is no longer a good football program.

Also.. you “passionate fans” act like HD is some kind of football mecca. Look, nobody is denying the rich successes the school has had IN THE PAST. We applaud it. Well done, sir. But... even the most passionate of passionate fans should recognize the fact that there isn’t a kid in that school that was even alive the last time HD won a football playoff game. Are you aware of that? Burkeville has won more football playoff games this century than HD has. Evadale has. Hardin has also. In fact... every school in the state that has won at least one football playoff game this century has won more than HD. Couple that with the fact that most of your wins come against the historically worst programs in the state... My guy. HD is in fact... a “school of the blind”. As you so eloquently put it.

Suck it up? I couldn’t care less about what you say about how HD is coached. I will add... it’s funny how my comment about the miraculously short quarantine period was for the players that were “too sick” to play a week ago. By the way, passionate and delusional are vastly different.

Imagine how much success HD would have if their head coaches took the advice of the sideline coaches we have on this site.

I just meant that Silsbee is usually good enough to get zero out of playing a team a couple classifications lower. Hardin isn’t.

By the way, was Silsbee seriously offering to play Hardin?

Do they only have 19 on varsity? I’m not arguing.. I’m talking perception. Also, you’ll have a hard time convincing anyone that the only Covid positive kids in the high school are football Players. 9 out of the high school isn’t many, but you’re just talking football.

It has nothing to do with what the actual reason is and everything to do with what is perceived to be the reason. Perception is reality. Here are the facts: HD and HD alone called the game. That is proven by Hardin still trying to find a game. Even though a poster previously said that BOTH schools had too many out for Covid. Another fact is that HD didn’t cancel school. I’m hearing, anyway. Now.. did the HD volleyball team cancel their game for tonight? Again, the perception is that HD football bailed. You say coaches always wanna play? How many kids are out? You only need 11 to field a team.

Looks a lot better than going 3-7 to “prepare” and then bombing out in the playoffs.

Perception is reality. The kids and fans (parents specifically) can’t help who’s on the schedule. Winning is winning.. and it’s rarely taken into account who it’s against. I’ve always believed that sometimes the best thing that can be done by a coach is to build a schedule that’s conducive to keeping the masses happy.

So.. will the schools be closed for the rest of the week? Since there’s too many Covid cases to play and all...

I doubt they get many more. If any.

There are very few times I would ever think that Hardin would win a football game. Especially these days. Having said that.. this is one of those times. I believe they get their Homecoming win and probably convincingly (a few scores or more).

I could almost see my brain I rolled my eyes so hard.

I believe my argument was somewhere along the lines of that being the first year that UIL decided to let 4 teams from each district be in the playoffs.. and that making 4th at Kountze wasn't a whole lot different (at that time) than some of his predecessors had done. But... I know how it works. They got in, so the coach must be the reason.

I was basically ostracized one time before for expressing my thought on how "successful" Kountze football was under the direction of Tracey Franklin. Good times.

To be fair.. that district is probably the weakest in the state these days.

It actually makes me smile knowing that the "4 horsemen" trend will seemingly never end for those bobcats.

Not taking anything away from anyone.. the drop in classification has to be taken into account. I know.. I know.. speculation. But it’s gotta be considered in terms of correlation with success.

That was exhausting to read. There are some obvious folks that would end up on the list due to (championships, winning %, 20/25 win years, etc.) no matter the reasons someone could come up with. Athletes, schedule, whatever.. Yeah Sutherland, Joubert, and all those names would be there. People can argue back and forth to no end but honestly, we’ll never know what would’ve happened if they were somewhere else or if someone was in their spot. Who knows. Speculate away. It’s simple for me. If I’m handpicking a team and head coach, it’ll be Kevin Foster. Simply because I’ve seen him coach different types of teams with different styles that fit his team and/or competition. I’m impressed. Half court, full court, fast, slow, man, zone, junks, hybrids, motion offenses, sets, methodical inbound plays, etc.. He’s not in the least one dimensional and does it consistently successfully. Plus, his players show up in a shirt/tie and don’t make a sound on or off the floor. At least that’s what I noticed the times that I saw them. Top 10 makes no difference to me. In SeTx, I’d go with Foster as my current coach.

If between those two only.. I’d personally go with Briles. Proven success at a wider array of situations. More than 1 recently, actually. And don’t get me wrong, Danaher is deservingly a legend. HOF coach for sure..but everyone knows that Region 4 just isn’t the same.
