I'm literally arguing that... -

Not interests. Just interesting to say that by taking the shot or wearing the mask is an implication that the spread will slow down at all. When in reality, there have been more people that have taken the shot and/or caught the virus with or without it since this whole debacle started...after the "shots" were available than before. Considering that, nothing has done anything to deter any of it. I could post some articles or videos proving such by reputable, medical doctors but if it goes against your personal beliefs then they will discredited as "quacks" or "idiots" or "conspiracy theorists" anyway..so why bother. But.. at some point.. I would think that every person on the planet would begin to question whatever information they're listening to. As we're two years into this and after 3 different vaccines, one booster, two boosters, three boosters, etc.. maybe just admit that maybe they really don't have a clue and/or are just telling people a load of crap. Just my take. Personally, I truly don't give a crap what anyone does. It's still a free country. I just know that I'm not going to be lectured about anything health related by entities that are exclusively money driven. -

The shots and masks will slow the spread of Omicron? Interesting take. -
I won't. I reluctantly did a couple of times hoping that an actual final name would be there.. silly me. Will the name at least be on the title of the post when it's announced?
-
Is there any way the administrators of this site can lock this thread until the actual name has been announced as to who the next head coach will be. Asking for... myself.

Condolences. Prayers for the family and community. -
Fair statement. Especially concerning southeast Texas.. CT was an exception but retired. All communities are stupid for not allowing THEIR CHOICE to at least see the 9th graders through graduation. Just my opinion, of course. But to be fair, the most consistently successful programs (no matter the sport) have consistent head coaches. People claim they want someone to build a program and/or change the culture, then don't allow them time to do it.
-
Probably won't have a choice. Doesn't the community usually give the coach about 2 or 3 years to win a state championship before they move on to the next one?
-
No clue. I just heard it was a close family tie. Not familiar with the Reescano lineage.

I seriously think you have no idea the level of physical maturity between a 13/14 year old kid and a 17/18 year old kid. Unless this 8th grader you speak of is one or two years older than his peers.. which would also explain why he was so dominant (I'm guessing that's what you're implying?). No offense, but when an 8th grader makes other 8th graders look bad it doesn't mean that they could start for any varsity team in the county. Don't get me wrong.. maybe the kid can play. But I wouldn't bet the farm on an 8th grade kid from Hardin being able to even remotely do well playing with or against the teams in Liberty, Cleveland, or Dayton's district.. Let alone starting offense. My thoughts, if that kid would've indeed been Hardin's starting quarterback last year.. he would've been running for his life against East Chambers, Woodville, Anahuac, and the others just like their actual varsity quarterback was. Besides.. we're talking about the AD's kid? That's what I heard anyway.. What are the chances that A)Hardin keeps the coach around long enough to see the kid graduate anyway? (look at their track record) B)if the kid is as good as you're implying, why not take him to a school where he'll get an opportunity to shine? and win? C'mon, guy..
-
Unless there is just a mass exodus of students.. WOS will remain locally dominant at least I'm guessing. Newton went through two great coaches and is still Newton. The kids just traditionally have more than everyone else in their respective classification/area. WOS will do the same.
-
Very impressive. I heard that this kid has very close family ties to the Reescano family recently in or graduated from Hardin.

LaPorte is not what they once were.

Other than the name of the new hire and most everything about his coaching past.. it's been pretty quiet.

Lumberton 62 Silsbee 123/FINAL

There's an underlying point to my statement. -
Concerning?...
-
Again.. I couldn't care less either way. The school can go about it however they want to. I would just think that since the ENTIRE team/community/state knows that WOS is going to have a new head football coach next season, maybe get a new guy in there so they can get rolling with THEIR plan.
-
To each their own I guess. Is C.T. going to remain around the field house / weight room? Or whatever... I would think that even if they know who's going to take over, they would go ahead and let the guy take the wheel. I mean.. that's just my opinion. Sure seems like this particular thread has been dragging on for a while since the announcement of the retirement.

Lumberton struggling a little bit without their 6'6 D1 player? Who knew... -
Just curious.. is there an expected time to which someone will be hired for this job?
-
Um..
-
Quite a difference between a goal and what you're talking about. Every good coach in the system will say that's their goal, train like a champion, have kids believing that they're winners, and do everything possible to win every game.. but will realistically know whether or not it's a legit possibility. Coaches know their talent level and they know the other team's.
-
I doubt anyone that has gone 0-10 every year would be on that list. I mean the countless coaches that win 10+ or so games every year, make consistent playoff runs, and just do better with less. Several folks on that list will spend an entire career having not gotten a ring.
-
There is no question that the goal every year is to win the state title.. I'm talking about the standard to which you fire someone or not. That's a little ridiculous. Have some realistic expectations.
