  1. "They just can't recognize talent when they have it." - Disgruntled parent who's kid probably isn't good enough to play the amount of time or position that the experts at home think. I have no idea why schools waste money on coaching salaries with all of the experts in the stands.
  2. If the center got absolutely destroyed the previous play then a fumbled snap could be a result of the defense. I get your point but my point is that there are so many things that happen during live play competition that could most definitely cause something to happen that people often overlook.
  3. I'm probably going to pick EC (not that it means anything) but I wouldn't be surprised if it was closer than expected. Pretty good little rivalry game. Related note. I think it's hilarious when someone says that their team "hurt themselves" by turning it over or fumbling.. More times than people want to admit the defense of the other team CAUSED the turnover or fumble. Either directly or indirectly if your team is putting the ball on the ground it may be because of the defense.
  4. The comments made it seem as though kids came out that hadn’t previously. Looks like the same Kountze to me.
  5. Based on early comments you’d think Kountze was gonna be good this year.

  7. Weeellllll.. not to jump in because I’m enjoying the back and forth. But.. it is hard to argue the fact that HD has only won a couple of playoff games since their state title 40 years ago. None recently. That’s kind of the standard to how good you are.

  10. Shame. That's why I tell people all of the time that playing college ball in any sport on any level is much more difficult to accomplish than realized. It's not just about skill. It's also grades, mentality, and life in general that can get in the way. I guess he'll join the crowd of who knows how many small town kids.. "I would've play college ball but (fill in the blank)"..
  11. I'm sure there have been more than people think.. to say someone is possibly the best to ever come through because he led his team to some wins over some crappy teams is a little much. I'm not saying the kid couldn't play.. but even at a school such as Hardin with all of their great football tradition (sarcasm) they have had some athletes I'm sure.
  12. I think I read somewhere that there have been some Hardin RBs go off to play college ball. So if you.. I mean White.. aren't playing college ball anywhere right now then you..I mean he..aren't the best running back to come through Hardin ever for sure.
  13. Please excuse me while I LOL. Apartment complexes / rental properties have completely diminished this idea. As stated above, open enrollment doesn't determine eligibility but RESIDENCE DOES. The UIL, the district, nor the coaches can do anything about where a kid moves to along with his/her legal guardian. A change of permanent residency is all it takes for a kid to be eligible to play somewhere else 15 days after the transfer date. If you don't think this is happening in mass numbers all across the state every year (especially bigger cities) then you're sadly mistaken.
  14. Those 30 schools are well aware of where the kid stands academically. You do realize that they won't even talk to kids they don't think will meet their academic requirements, don't you? [Hidden Content] Bottom line... the committee probably thought the same thing that I'm thinking. What can this new school possibly do for him academically that the school district in which he actually lives couldn't do in K-11? My answer..nothing. I'll say again. The kid should've changed permanent residence along with his legal guardian and then this wouldn't have been an issue. This exact circumstance is exactly what this specific rule is for.
  15. But they didn't move. The kid's legal guardian still stayed at the same residence.. meaning that he just changed schools. Had they ACTUALLY MOVED then nothing could've been done about it. What you're implying is that kid's should just be able to change schools whenever they want even if they say it's for academic reasons. That's exactly why this RULE is in place and exactly why the eligibility was denied. SMH..
  16. The kid's mom/parent should have moved. Had they changed their address this wouldn't even be an issue.
  17. Absolutely...and to be honest, if it was truly just about getting a better education and improving his environment then football isn't even needed whatsoever. So having to sit the year out won't mess up the chances of that ^.
