  1. I’m pretty sure that the person claiming Allen is so good because of their large enrollment...yet can’t explain why no other schools with large enrollments are winning state titles...is the person who has lost the debate. Real quick.. why isn’t Allen consistently winning state championships in the other school sports? Since they have 7700 kids (alleged by a person who lives in Allen but may or may not know anything about the school). Anyway. Shouldn’t they be winning championships in every sport?
  2. 60% is pretty solid all things considered. That'll improve as well. And yeah gaining some muscle weight and foot speed will turn him into a high, high-level draft pick one day. The transformation will be something to behold over the next few years.
  3. Lampkin will be pretty extraordinary when he sheds some of that youthful fat and becomes more muscular and athletic. Already loaded with potential. How is he from the line?
  4. And yet you can't explain why the school with the largest enrollment doesn't win the state championship in every sport, every year.
  5. That's a stupid comment and you know that's not what I meant. According to the UIL enrollment numbers.. Allen has the largest enrollment with 6600. There are 3 other schools in the district with over 5000 kids. Including the last place team in the district which is 0-6. The team in the district that is tied for 2nd place (Prosper) has less than 3000 kids. That alone makes your argument irrelevant. Of course a school with several thousand compared to a school with several hundred makes a huge different in football but when you're talking about every school in a class with roughly 3000+.. it's pretty much all the same at that point. Other factors come into play.
  6. What was their enrollment back when they won 4 titles in a row? I promise you it wasn't what you're hearing that it is now..

  8. I misread about high schools.. that's why I said Bama. High schools in Texas? Allen, Lake Travis, Westlake, Katy, Brock. Any of those would be fine.
  9. That's what needs to happen every year..in every town.. in every sport. I've always said that the people that coach youth sports should meet with the varsity head coach before the season begins to at least go over what basic skills should be drilled during a practice. Even if at least one time a week. Would also be a good time to maybe discuss drills that the youth coach probably won't know about. To me, youth sports should be a mini-camp of sorts. Literally where the game should be learned. Instead of the trash that it's turned into these days. It seems to me that youth sports is turning into a factory of learning bad habits.. that can't be undone by the time they get to school ball.
  10. What else do I need to debate with? There are schools all over the state with enrollments MUCH larger than other schools they play yet they aren't successful. You can't make a statement like "Maybe having nearly 8000 students and facing smaller opponents every single time had something to do with it?" and not expect a rebuttal. You literally implied that their success is in part to do with their large enrollment. You're making three different arguments here.
  11. By that logic..every single district in the state should be won by the team with the most students. Right? In fact.. Allen has the largest enrollment at 6664 and Plano West has the second largest enrollment at 5654. Explain to me how Allen is 6-0 and Plano West is 0-6.
  12. I think that it should be played at AT&T because that is the best option..as far as the nicest venue. I think it should be about the experience for the kids and not so much about the convenience for the fans. Plus.. as you said..if home-field advantage really made that much of a difference how did Allen go undefeated without playing a single home game and how have teams been winning state championships every single year whether they had to farthest drive or not? I think the kids should play in the best stadium no matter where it is. I can usually be open-minded but won't have my mind changed on that.
  13. I would think that it would be difficult to go into a week of practice/preparation and then after kickoff NOT try to win. I understand that it may be a better option in the playoffs but I'm sure it doesn't sit well with anyone to not give it their all to win. Don't know. I think this might be a situation where "if we happen to lose, it's not the end of the world" but I think business as usual is what should happen.
  14. Better late than never...and yes it will make them better.
  15. If I could only go back to some arguments about this very thing.. oh well. Congrats WOS. This is more than deserved.
  16. Excuse me for thinking that "it does not matter if they lost their QB or not" was an implication of losing one kid didn't make a big difference. You're right, though. Hardin seems to historically be competing in a class that's one division higher than their talent level. I don't know if this year would've been any better, however. They would've just ended up in New Waverly's district. Newton, Corrigan, Hemphill would probably all beat Hardin. It would have been a more competitive district for them but also would take one preseason win off the schedule (New Waverly) and still possibly end up 4th. Maybe 3rd...who knows. You're also right about Evadale. Always competitive locally (football) but that's about it. Exception being when they have a really good group come through. You should also know that Evadale also never plays anybody any good in the preseason. Maybe that's the answer. Just win games no matter who you play and keep your job as long as you want. I've always said that building confidence in the preseason is more important than playing "difficult" games in order to prepare. Next year will really tell the tale of Haynes's influence during district after they graduate their RB. I also think that KV, OF, and Ana will likely be a little improved next year. We'll see.
  17. You may want to check his coaching record prior to coming to Hardin. Pretty sure he also didn't have his QB the year they went 0-10. You can say what you want...but the kids you have and the schedule you have can/will make bad coaches look good or good coaches look bad. It literally happens every year. I've said it before and stand by it.. Haynes is a master schedule maker.
  18. Would Hardin be sitting in the same situation if they had lost their RB? Think about that for a second..if you're implying that one kid doesn't make that much difference.
  19. Then everyone would be griping that Westlake and Lake Travis have "home field advantage" when they make it to the title game.
  20. What I mean is .. even if they had a meeting one of the two wouldn’t agree no matter what was decided. One would want AT&T and the other would want NRG. So...what...meet in the middle? It’s dumb to not have all SC games at same venue. In week one of every season a vast majority of the towns in Texas no they’d have to travel if their boys make it. Nobody cares. This is nothing more than an excuse that happens beforehand.
  21. How is it going to be "their own terms"?
  22. For many years Dallas area schools were winning state championships in Houston. It also happens the other way around. Anyone who ignores statistics is either crazy or willfully ignorant. [Hidden Content]
