All good. I swear I don't know when I'm being messed with or when I should be defensive these days.. Not that I was intentionally being defensive. I think I'm losing my mind.

How is it that I'm always accused of being a hater? lol.. To be honest I don't care if Buna throws it every down. I'm just saying don't be surprised when WV has control of the ball for 90% of the game when it happens. I like the passing game just as much as the next guy..when it can be done. But if it can't be done I would hope that it's recognized early enough to keep it from being as bad as it could be. Don't forget that Buna didn't exactly burn the scoreboard down last week with this backup QB that is a supposed throwing threat.

Baytown Sterling at LaPorte; Only District win for 1 team

With the exception of 6A.. I'll have to say no. It only happens in 6A because of the Austin schools being in region 4 in 6A (Westlake/Lake Travis). The other classifications region 4 is pretty much San Antonio and south. I thought we were talking about schools with high Hispanic populations..? Alright so let me restate. When I say region 4 I'm talking about the typical region 4 (south Tx) school. I don't think Austin Westlake and Austin Lake Travis fit the mold of what we're talking about here. -

I'm not using titles as relevance. I'm showing that ANY team out of region 4 still can't compete with the rest of the state these days. The original point was that LP has fallen by the way side because of dropping enrollment and a demographic swing. Someone said.."well Judson has a lot of Hispanics".. Well.. All of South Tx does. SOMEONE has to be the best team in region 4. Still can't beat the other regions. -

To be fair.. I think it's safe to say that a large number of region 4 schools have huge Hispanic enrollments. This isn't exactly the same.. With the exception of a small handful of schools region 4 isn't really relevant in UIL athletics these days. Even that handful of schools does not win titles lately. Including Judson. Not an accurate comparison. -
I'm thinking EC wins by at least 2/3 scores.

I was hoping but you never know.

LP graduated a ton of talent...and their student population has had a major demographic shift toward .... non football type students. I'm seeing hard times ahead for LP football. -
San Augustine 51 Hull-Daisetta 14/FINAL

I actually think it may be a little closer than some think.. Still going with SA by several scores. Best of luck. -
I'm not the coach nor will I question what is decided. But if this is going to be as outmatched as I'm thinking.. throwing it around (killing the clock) would be the last thing I would do. I would burn as much clock as possible because I think this one might get ugly. We'll see.. best of luck to all involved.

Could have a lot to do with a lot. Are they cutting staff?.. Cutting budgets?.. Personell changes?.. What do you mean what does it have to do with anything? If that's the case it could have quite a bit to do with..well..everything.

Yeah that's kind of the point I was making. No pressure. I can only imagine the enormous amount of pressure he would've gotten at Allen after winning 3. I've heard very good things about him as a person and I'm glad he's happy with his decision. Despite what any of us think..he deserves to be doing what he wants, where he wants just like any hard working individual. And yeah I hear you on the..won't find anyone with any sense talking trash.. That's the problem though. I think the number of level headed, reasonable fans is extremely rare. Anywhere.

There are other differences than just that. Yes Allen get's solid moveins but so do several DFW schools. Not to beat a dead horse but having the kind of kids that come from a wealthy, stable environment makes a huge difference. I know there are exceptions but there is a large number of entire neighborhoods in the North Dallas area of several thousand square foot homes where the kids don't have to work, get private lessons, strength/speed training camps, both parents at home, then go to school where they have state of the art facilities, the best teachers/coaches that money can buy, and an endless amount ($) of community support. Anyone who thinks that doesn't play a role just doesn't know.

I personally don't think that money was the motivating factor. He could've been making $300K coaching tight ends or something at a school like UT. The payraise he got from Allen to BH wasn't really a huge amount compared to what he could've made. I guess we'll never know unless he personally says the reasons he did what he did.

I really thought that if Westerburg ever left Allen it would be for a college gig. He would've been a lock for at least a position coach at a big time school and probably even would've had a really good shot at an FCS head job. When he left and came to BH I was truly floored. But I started thinking about the amount of pressure he probably had on him to continue winning at that level in Allen. It's really not feasible with the vast amount of talent in the metroplex. Every year in that region several of the rounds are potential state champ type games. He had just graduated Kyler Murray who is...let's face it.. a true Heisman caliber quarterback and was a man among boys in any level of high school. When the BH job presented itself as an option I'm sure he thought it would be a good place to build a little success in a school that's not used to it. Sure people were expecting a miracle but he'll never have the pressure to win at BH like I'm sure he did at Allen. Factor in the money he's making (including family) and it makes more sense to me now than it did at first.

That’s what Hardin did. Now you guys are about to play a game against a group of kids that at least have some confidence and know what it feels like to win. That’s huge in the mind of a teenage athlete.
-
Never said they'd be scared to try. Just like I'm sure neither Allen or Plano would be scared to play UT. Or UT wouldn't be afraid to play the Texans. Would all be a similar result, though. To the topic at hand. If size didn't matter then why are schools all of the sudden successful if they drop in class..or all of the sudden average if they go up in class. Size absolutely matters. It's not the only thing though. For instance.. Baytown could combine all of their schools and I doubt they'd be on the same level as Allen. There are other factors especially when talking about North Dallas schools.
-
Since we're speculating and will never know.. I am willing to bet you 10,000,000 dollars that Newton would get absolutely embarrassed and possibly have several kids hurt if they played one of these schools.
-
Um..seriously?

I would venture to say that just about ANY team could be 0-5 or 5-0 depending on their schedule. It's all relative and records don't necessarily reflect how good/bad a team is. No offense but Hardin could be used as an example of this very thing. Change of schedule could change everything.

Nobody is denying that KV had some impressive teams in the last 18 years.. but I think this is in regards to this year's team. I personally don't believe you guys are the worst team in SETX by any stretch. As long as there are Colmesneils, Sabine Passes, and Burkevilles of the world you guys never have to worry about that. In a relative sense, though... you guys are 0-5 and I don't think there are too many SETX teams left that haven't won a game. So there's that..

A pretty big difference was when UIL split 4A into divisions. Before that WOS hadn’t even gotten out of the region in quite some time. Not to take away from their accomplishments but before 4A had a D2 it was a different story.

My my my...how the tides have changed. Who is it that always argues that talent is more important than coaching? Hmm.. was that me? I can’t remember. What I do remember is that WOS fans were saying a year or two ago that Coach T could go anywhere and win. Relax WOS fans.. as in most cases.. it’s NOT THE COACHES. I think I’m enjoying these comments more than I should be.
