  1. When you do well with 7 on 7 it means that...no...it doesn’t mean anything. Sorry.
  2. Walmart would be the better option here.
  3. "Manvel was one of, if not THE most athletic teams in TX last year. Highland Park might have been the least athletic State Champion." Those are your words my man..I was simply stating that to imply that Highland Park wasn't athletic is..well..kind of dumb. They literally had D1 football players all over the field. Yeah they may have won the X's and O's battle but they were VERY athletic. What is so hard to understand about that?
  4. Silsbee had faster kids than Carthage...how did their football game work out? Speaking of..I thought we were referring to the football state championship game. Was the original question asked about HP vs Manvel in a track meet?
  5. There's not a football coach in Texas (5A and down) that would have a problem with that "nonathletic" team that HP had. Not one.
  6. I watched every second of the game. Highland Park had 6 seniors that signed to play D1 football..including a quarterback that signed with an SEC school. Yeah just because they didn't seem as though they were as fast as Manvel DOES NOT mean they didn't have an athletic team as well. They had athletes all over the field too. Give me a break.
  7. Is everyone assuming that there was just a large pool of choices for this job? Coaches that are proven winners would never consider a job like this unless it’s literally the dead end of their career and money was the only driving force. Amd for the record I’d bet that the OC at Austin Lake Travis would rather stay than become a HC at Sterling...lol. Hopefully that was a joke.
  8. I’m more than aware of that. My granddaughter will have a tryout for youth volleyball in June as an incoming 3rd grader. I’m talking about playing for a public school. I’m also talking about the vast majority of high school volleyball players that don’t start until junior high. Which will include multiple future college volleyball players.
  9. Sorry for the late response. I’ve been laughing about this post for a while. Let me address the bold sentence above. My daughter played both volleyball and tennis in college. There (LITERALLY) is no such thing as a youth sport for either. How can you explain all of those D1 volleyball players that didn’t start playing until 7th grade?
  10. This ^^ represents why I hate youth sports so much... because NOTHING AT ALL changes between little league and high school. Like the fact that you go from playing kids the same age to playing a high school with 4 different grade levels to choose from. or like reaching physical maturity at different times.. like transfers.. like the changing of classifications or competition. like kids losing interest.. You can just as easily be blamed for instilling terrible habits that are irreversible. Literally.. shaking my head.
  11. What is the deal with those Hardin County schools?.. do they not like getting quality employees or something? They better hope that they don't build a super HEB at 105/770. All of the teachers will go bag groceries.
  12. I think Coach Day may want to at least put what the coaching stipends are. I have no idea what they are but that may at least entice an email...assuming they’re decent. The fact is that there are a lot of schools that are hurting for teachers and most of them pay a lot more than this joke of a pay scale. Just my opinion. The numbers on that paycheck are much more important than the number of returning starters. Lol.
  13. Well whatever the reason.. this is the reason that this job will continue to be posted. I have no idea what the coaching stipends are but I doubt they make up for it.
  14. Yeah I thought so too. But here ya go: West Hardin County CISD Teacher Salary Schedule Years of Experience Credited Annual Salary (10 Month Contract) Masters Degree 0 30,080 32,080 1 30,690 32,690 2 31,290 33,290 3 31,890 33,890 4 33,170 35,170 5 34,440 36,440 6 35,720 37,720 7 36,900 38,900 8 38,020 40,020 9 39,080 41,080 10 40,080 42,080 11 41,020 43,020 12 41,930 43,930 13 42,760 44,760 14 43,560 45,560 15 44,310 46,310 16 45,030 47,030 17 45,700 47,700 18 46,340 48,340 19 46,940 48,940 20 47,510 49,510
  15. Tell the school board to move the salary schedule a little further away from base pay. There.. I helped. To be fair though...I probably wouldn't work there if they did pay more. Heard it was kind of a dump.
  16. Oh, I can imagine. I literally laughed out loud when I read it. What's even worse is that there are quite a few people that believe it.
  17. I wasn’t implying that college coaches go watch games. I know they don’t..between hudl and camps there is no need. What I mean is that they more easily get attention due to team success. If a running back has 200 yards and 5 touchdowns late in the playoffs...if they don’t know they will now. I have a little experience on this as well and I have close friends that are coaching college ball right now. They hate getting highlight films. It’s easy to show only the best parts.. but yes.. notice the last sentence of my previous comment. Nothing matters if you are a freak athlete (D1 talent)
  18. I think that there are thousands of great athletes that probably who never move on because they are on terrible teams or play with/against terrible competition. The best player on a 1-9 team will never get the same attention as the best player that is still playing in round 4. Even if they’re the same size, speed, strength, GPA, etc.. Being on a good team always makes a difference. Unless a kid is just an absolute freak of nature.
  19. Definitely the most delusional statement I’ve seen on here in quite some time.
  20. Not sure if you follow but he plays backup to the Heisman Trophy winner
  21. Um.. this isn't a very good example. It didn't "take a different coach" for them to win it... I took Kyler Murray graduating. Desoto didn't win it until then because Allen had a stranglehold on DFW. Every year there are multiple teams good enough to win it out of that region... and if that's true what you say then why hasn't Todd Peterman won another one the year after they won it all in 16? You know why. Because circumstances change.. kids graduate.. etc..
