  1. Argyle median household income-$110,000 Silsbee median household income-$33,000 Obviously there are other variables..and rules to this exception. But this makes a little bit of a difference.
  2. Have you seen Quentin Grimes play in person?

Many times.   Our first game of “summer” ball last spring was a double OT showcase loss to his team.  Have watched him since he was in jr high.   He’s a legit McD AA and will be a pro, likely in the league.

Oh for sure.  I have a buddy on staff at College Park who got to see him in person for the first time recently.  He's not a basketball so he was in shock that they have a kid that caliber walking the halls.  Even though I told him when he took the job last summer he was still in disbelief.

  3. Always nice to have a "practice" type situation and still get a W on the schedule. Stil...lol.
  4. Understandable. But perception is reality. And Silsbee has been beaten 4 times this year with the fastest kid in the nation on their roster. Sure does make it seem likely that the defending state champ can figure out how to do it too.
  5. Hey I’m just saying. I’m not the one implying that Silsbee speed is going to overwhelm. Having some speed is fantastic but this deep in the playoffs it takes more than just being fast. By the way Carthage hasn’t lost a game in a while either.
  6. Newton, WOS, Shadow Creek, and LCM figured out how to win against the fastest young man in the country.
  7. You’re right it was misread the first time. But...just to be clear. You’re suggesting that it’s perfectly acceptable to have 2 kids on an All-State team at receiver out of hundreds of schools...but there needs to be double or even triple that many receivers on an All District team? Out of less than 10 schools? I’ll stick to my original point. 1st Team is meant to be the 11 that would start if you put together a literal team. That’s literally what it means. More than that is watered down.
  8. Wellll... lol..hate to break it to ya bud.. but the HIGH SCHOOL ALL STATE team is done exactly like the All Pro team. [Hidden Content] But you meant All District. My point remains the same...the NFL runs more 4 and 5 reciever sets than anyone. Still only 2 on the All Pro team. Doesn’t matter. 1st TEAM literally means the 11 that would represent the district/region/state/league
  9. I'm still trying to figure out why SeTx doesn't produce more college and pro level coaches. I know that every coach in the area must spend countless hours reading comments from this site and taking notes on proper strategy. With this wealth of knowledge and expertise it's simply astonishing to me that area coaches aren't calling plays on Sundays. I for one can't wait for games to finally end so I can come on here and start learning.
  10. The NFL puts 11 on the offensive All-Pro team... do high school teams run more sets, schemes, and have more WRs and TEs than NFL teams?
  11. It is now. They might as well let every kid that starts be on an all-district team.
  12. People have somehow forgotten the original definition of first and second TEAM. In football...there are 11 people on the field. If the district were voting on a TEAM to represent the district should they play against other districts then there should be 11 kids on FIRST TEAM. And 11 on second team. 11 on 1st team offense, 11 on 1st team defense...same with 2nd team. Just like in Basketball there should be 5 on 1st team and 5 on 2nd team. Baseball should have 9... seems simple to me. My opinion is that anything more than that is watered down. Even superlatives should come off of the 1st TEAM.
  13. It's simple. All they have to do is score more points than the other team. There...code cracked.
  14. Will need more than huge showings on both sides and ST. Will need help from Carthage as well. But still don’t see it.
  15. Then I’m talking about 3AD1. That’s where those three 4seeds are from anyway
  16. Yes they are in the “coverage area” but have never really considered them SeTx. Even if so...in the literal sense I’m talking mostly about the big school 3A of the area. I’ve always thought those were perceived as the bread and butter. Exception Newton/WOS
  17. Could SeTx be the reason for 4 teams in the playoffs in small schools? It’s no surprise how yours truly feels about SeTx football...especially compared to the rest of the state. But think about this. In 3A there are three 4seeds playing in round 3 around the state. There are ZERO..1seeds from SeTx playing in round 3. That’s a little odd. In bigger classifications there could be little drop off from 1-4 in each district...but 3A and down there should be a huge difference between 1st and 4th. Just some food for thought. Alright. Y’all have at it..I’m ready.
  18. Hoping for an injury free game. But rest assured...Silsbee is about to get a reminder of why they never get out of the region. Carthage is gonna be too much.
  19. Start the bus. Would have been possible had Liberty not turned it over. Now their offense can’t catch up from this far behind.
  20. The rest of the state salivates when they play a team from this area.
  21. Out of area teams are most of SeTx schools’ Achilles heel.
