  1. I'm exactly the same way. Which is why I said I can't draw a definite conclusion from those particular videos. I knew it would happen...but was hoping to at least see someone trying to stop him from scoring. Rather than just kind of standing in the way and then zero help being offered from anyone else. But I could tell immediately that he has skill. Offensively anyway..
  2. There's no doubt the kid can play. And if he was given ANY offers then I trust that a college coach recognizes the potential to produce in a college game. Which is impressive. I'm just stating that I didn't see a whole lot on the defensive side in the couple of videos I saw. And I'm a defense guy...so I like seeing a kid lock down someone and utilize help and floor spacing. All I'm saying. Best of luck to the kid. I hope it all works out.
  3. I watched a couple videos. The kid has skill for sure but hard for me to come to a conclusion. I wish I could've seen him play some defense....or see how he responds to some actual defense being played on him. I truly do hate AAU scenarios because of that. 5 defenders standing inside the 3 point line seeing who can allow the best highlight reel.
  4. Yeah I was implying that the series gets less and less one sided the more recent you get. And the matchup is happening less and less. Don't get me wrong...that should be the case. HD continues dropping in enrollment so they should lose to a school with twice as many kids. But..Hardin is still one of worst teams in the land in their classification. Either way...I stand firm that Hardin probably would've gotten this year. I guess we'll never know.
  5. Well well well. I knew you couldn't avoid replying to me for forever. I'm surprised you picked a post that I gave HD compliments to do it though. Anyway... If you must know...then yeah. Maybe I am a psychic. For instance, after HD's relatively good season last year I knew you'd come roaring back with the HD55 comments we all remember. So there you go. I can see the future. By the way...at least ONE HD coach took Hardin off the schedule. Y'all didn't play them the 2 years before last...so. Here's another prediction for you. You'll never mention the Hardin/HD record in the last 10, 20, or 30 years. Lol.
  6. Is this game not cancelled? It says this on another thread: "Hamshire-Fannett at Lumberton, cancelled"
  7. I think most people are bettiin on West Hardin being terrible. That's what I'm doing..
  8. My final 2 cents on the subject: Hardin definitely would've beaten HD. I'll be the first to admit that I underestimated HD last year and was pleasantly surprised by their success...But they lost too much and even if Hardin stayed the same as far as ability last year was a pretty close game. Doesn't matter because we'll never know. If Hodges is smart he'll get that game off the schedule for the next 2 years and he won't have to worry about it. Back to this Huntington matchup. Neither are very good I think...I think Huntington may be worse. We'll find out. And yes nobody is bashing Haynes. The man is a good coach there's no doubt. But yes he was viewed as the "savior" to the program when he came in. Even good coaches can't win a race horce with a donkey. And yeah the way he acquired the position may not have sat well with some. Like me. But it is what it is. Just glad football is back around and I'm sure the kids are happy for some normalcy after the storm.
  9. We'll see. I'm not sure about winning big...but yeah they'll probably win. They certainly better hope they win this one. I think there aren't a whole lot of winnable games on the schedule. JMO
  10. Gotcha. I truly had no idea...goes to show how much I pay attention. I didn't remember any of the posts being that bad...but maybe I didn't notice. I really thought they just stopped posting. Kind of like my ole buddy HD55. It hasn't been quite the same since he dissappeared. Did that one get banned too?? Or just stop posting?
  11. Is he/she not supposed to?.. Sorry I'm a little confused. I figured out who you're talking about but did something happen?.. or is the person just obnoxious or what?.. Because surely that isn't a problem. I could make a list of posters on this site that get on people's nerves. (myself included)
  12. I honestly don't know. I didn't watch..just going on what I was told. Hardin has there quarterback back (best player maybe)...which was injured all of last year during football season. That alone will make them a better team. Also..realize that "better" is a relative term. Technically 1-9 is "better" than they did last year. Don't say anything is turned around just yet. I still don't think they'll win a district game. My preseason guess for them was 3-7...but that was before the HD game was cancelled. So scratch that.
  13. You can say what you want...using the Liberty scrimmage as a measuring stick will end in disappointment. Yes there's no question Hardin is improved. They won zero games last year so I am betting they are improved. Liberty had a very respectable season last year. One of the best in the area...but they do not have the same team. Take that how you choose. They lost 2 college caliber backs...one of which I'm pretty sure I read broke the Liberty rushing record. Thinking they'll be AS good again is silly. So again. Hardin is better, but hard to tell how much better because Liberty is worse. Will find out for certain after Friday. For both teams.
  14. Not to take anything away from whethr or not Hardin is much improved...but this Liberty team isn't remotely close to the one they had last year. I know people that know people and based on what I was told I'm pretty sure they were gutted by graduation. Plus I think there were some key injuries in that particular scrimmage. Doesn't mean anything about anything...but I wouldn't bet on Liberty being what they were a year ago. Probably still competitive in that district (exept WOS) but not a good measuring stick for how Hardin is.
  15. So bad. Even though we have all witnessed an unimaginable event, I have never been more proud to live in Texas. I have made somewhat of a list that we WILL overcome as a state. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected. Houston ISD serves 220,000 kids. Neighboring Humble ISD 40,000 kids. Sheldon ISD where most campuses are still flooded 8900. There are another 10 school districts in the same county as Houston alone. Port Aransaa ISD (where the storm hit) has been closed indefinitely. 600 kids to move to a neighboring district. Almost every single one homeless. Beaumont ISD still covered in multiple feet of water, 20,000 students. Port Arthur ISD with water rescues happening today 8700 students. Wharton ISD had water rescues yesterday and they serve 2200 students. Not to mention all of the smaller districts along the coastal region that were affected. All told, there are close to half a million students still not in school. Start days scattered from Tuesday after Labor Day to the following Monday. Many will be starting at a different campus or district than they thought two weeks ago. Tens of thousands without school supplies, clothes or even a home. Teachers and coaches returning to work when they too have lost everything.
  16. Well if that's the case then I go back to hoping they take a beatdown.
  17. Well if that's the case I don't want them to do as badly as I previously did. But can't take away that they would have opted to move up IF their enrollment was below the 5A cutoff. For that...I will continue feeling as though BISD ranks in the top regarding stupid decisions that can be made by a school district.
  18. And since they did that I hope they get demolished. Feel bad for the kids but that's what they (school) get. Such a stupid decision.
  19. This seems to be either good for Hardin...or bad for Liberty. Maybe both.
