Houston Chronicle has Vidor down for 308 yards on 69 plays, maybe the Vidor Times has different stats. Lol, that gimmick offense also made that your only bi-district win in 54 years. Vidor also wasn't blown out multiple times like they have been this year and will be again against PAM. I celebrate Crosby's success all the time, then people from Vidor, PNG, Ned, etc. say I shouldn't because we don't have a state championship. Crosby is coming up on their 50th win since we played Vidor, the only losses that eat at me are the ones to Elgin and Cedar Park when I felt we had chances to play for a state title.

We're talking 5A man, please don't put WOS anywhere in this. I highly doubt they could even beat La Vega or Argyle right now. Even though they won a state championship they were beat down by 28 to a team that wasn't even ranked in the top 10 and lost in the third round. Porter's qb, rb and top receiver are all better than what WOS has at those positions plus they're overall bigger and deeper. WOS might be able to change the game making defensive plays but they're not in the same hemisphere as squads like Manvel, Foster, Ryan, Cedar Park, etc. Lot different playing schools who have athletes the caliber of WOS and four times more of them to choose from.

Lol, I thought this was a sarcasm thread at first. No, not even close. They needed overtime to beat a Crosby team that was down several starters and that's the only squad they've beaten with a winning record. They'll most likely lose this week to NC and probably go into the playoffs with a loss to BH. People have given them credit, it's just that nobody is fooled. Teams like Ryan, College Station, Cedar Park, Manvel, Foster, etc. would beat Porter by at least 28 points on a normal night.

I'm sure there are some co-eds in Oxford that were able to soothe his pain afterwards. When he goes to the NFL he'll realize trying to make tackles like those are bad business decisions and just push him out of bounds.

Lol, that was half a decade ago. Dude, Vidor had 67 carries for barely 300 yards and didn't have a completion. Crosby had over 400 yards on only 51 plays by comparison and averaged nearly 10 yards per rushing attempt. We did a good job stopping the gimmicks, the eleven penalties for 100 yards, muffed kicks deep in our own territory and turnovers was the difference. Crosby played with three defensive linemen the whole game. We never put 11 or even 8 people in the box even though Flannigan knew y'all were incapable of completing a forward pass, which is why he currently coaches at Westbrook right now and Crosby has averaged 10 wins per season since. Riordan will abuse Mathews just like every other decent coach with talent does.
-
No, that would be the order of Crosby's run through the playoffs starting with Vidor in bi-district, FB Marshall in the second, GT in the third and we would play College Station for the region.
-
You got blown out two weeks ago too. Both of the teams that had a decent passing game put 40+ on Vidor and PAM will do the same at the end of the season. Vidor only averaged 14 points per game in those two. You're not stopping anybody and the gimmick offense seems to only be working on the lesser teams this year.

21-6 Porter in the 4th quarter. Humble is going to be very good when they get a better coach.
-
I know, they actually made their extra point after they scored their TD on Barbers Hill.
-
I was glad Crosby was able to stop Splendora's slot-t offense for the most part. Very good chance Crosby gets Vidor in the first round who runs the same thing but throws less.
-
If things hold up it's looking like the hardest team on Crosby's side of the bracket before a regional final would be Georgetown. Possibly Vidor, FB Marshall, GT then College Station. Hard games but it doesn't get much easier than that.

I wonder where that guy from Bastrop is that was talking about there was no way Hutto would beat Rouse?

35-12 Crosby

It's 28-12

Weird all three winning 21-5A teams have 21 points at the half.

Atascocita 79 Baytown Sterling 19/FINAL

Makes 0 sense what you said. "Basing is off what you saw", lol. You mean to tell me you saw Boyd throw for over 4,000 yards, lose a 1,400+ yard back and a pair of 1,300+ yard receivers and this version of them is better now that Boyd basically has to do most of the work himself? Atascocita was in a completely different region last year and the only two teams that are still on the schedule out of the 14 they played are SC and Kingwood who they beat worse in 2015 that they did this season. My boss is from Atascocita and two of the guys in my workgroup have kids that go to SC, they all told me the opposite of what you "saw" and "what the guys that prepare to play them" told you. -

Atascocita isn't better than last year. They're going to get 7-0 Alief Taylor in the second round and most likely lose. Katy, Dickinson, Lamar, Clear Springs and Cy-Ranch will also be D1 in the region with Atascocita and North Shore. -
UIL to send preseason 5A split to referendum
Cougar14.2 replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Football
I recently got back from the Joliet facility which was also heritage Mobil and you sound just like those guys, smh. Fact of the matter is that if your community and administration want your kids to be competitive in extracurricular activities they'll find a way to get it done. The poor schools in the "real" SETX would be at no greater disadvantage than the inner-city type schools from the metro areas around the state. I'm sure if the UIL sees is as a large enough problem we'll stick with the current system. -
After watching Hines video from the PNG game it looks like they're pretty small in the front seven, with the exception of when McZeal was in, and slow on the edges. They look the same as when I saw Billy Foster put 300+ and 5tds on them on only 20 carries in the playoffs last year. Do you feel like Hines is just that good or that PNG's defense helped him out a lot by not being able to tackle and pursue correctly?

UIL to send preseason 5A split to referendum

Well, we here at XOM would like nothing more than those diesel prices to go back up. I'm sure you're close to retirement age so I don't see how low stock prices would benefit you? The more money we make the more money can be taxed back into the school system which is a greater benefit than the diesel costs. We've already done our part by building low-sulphur diesel units around the circuit to help farming cost. The last thing we need, even if it helps with school travel, is for diesel prices to continue to go/stay down. Sounds to me like some of the SETX schools might need to look into fundraisers if the UIL decides to split the classes. -
Yep, and after sucking so long Conally wasn't supposed to be a factor this year either. It's definitely going to be a task but they're basically playing a playoff game Friday night, maybe Robinson makes a couple of plays in a big time game that effects the outcome? I think Rouse will win also though, which is why I already predicted we play Cedar Park in the third round.
-
Fine then, I got Barbers Hill.
-
If Crosby sticks to their trend of inconsistency you never know? I don't think we've given up 100 rushing yards in a game so far this season so I should be able to make both, I've been surprised by several of our games this season though.

Kingwood Park Panthers vs Dayton Broncos
Cougar14.2 replied to Bronco94's topic in High School Football
I know we always bring kids up at the end of the season. I'm not sure about how they do it at other schools when they know the finality of the season, Crosby hasn't missed the playoffs in 12 years.
