  1. It's a ways away but all fans of the 21-5A and 22-5A D2 playoff teams should be cheering for Hutto to beat Leander Rouse this weekend. If that happens Cedar Park will most likely go D1 with Manvel and Temple leaving the D2 bracket wide open in region 3. With College Station stud qb Ty Brock breaking his leg and Cedar Park going D1, not only do the bi-district winners have a chance to win a couple of games but they also have a chance to play for the region if things pan out.
  2. If Central loses this weekend Nederland and Livingston have the best shot at getting in. No matter what if Livingston beats Central and Ozen they're in. If Ned and Central both finish 4-4 in district play which is very likely Nederland would get in. Central isn't mathematically eliminated but realistically it's between Livingston and Nederland for the last spot.
  3. Cedar Park is on the verge of going D2 again with 1,949 this year too. I think the postseason split effects 6A more than 5A due to sheer numbers but last year for Crosby to have an enrollment of 1,668 and to be playing Ridge Point with 2,348 in the D2 playoffs is a tough situation. Crazy that Ridge Point will most likely go undefeated during the regular season and be a 6A-D1 rep one season after that. I think they should split the divisions in preseason and increase the deltas as the classifications rise but then what you would end up with is one out of whack division in 6A-D1 instead of four out of whack divisions which kind of make it more fair in general.
  4. You can now look for Westbrook to avoid Longview and possibly go three deep.
  5. As weird as it would be, if BH and Crosby both run the table they'll end up as co-district champs. I would consider Crosby the real DC like we did King though.
  6. Right now BH, NC and Porter are all in for sure. Crosby must still win one of the last three. Realistically all four of our teams are already set, D1 and D2 is also.
  7. I agree, I like y'all against either one. Probably would need 40 to beat PNG but if BH went out and executed I don't see any reason they could get it. Now you can feel like a Crosby fans do sometime. You have games left on you schedule that don't mean anything because you're locked into the playoffs yet you have to get through them healthy.
  8. Rather it's ironic or poetic, tonight was actually the night Dayton's 20+ year playoff streak ended mathematically. Was a combined playoff streak between Dayton and Crosby of 32 years I believe. As much trash as we talk I think Crosby fans can respect the fact we almost lost tonight. What you'll eventually understand as your team becomes the hunted is that this winning thing gets awful hard.
  9. As far as Crosby goes, if that's how we're going to play defense we're going to get our a$$ kicked. I don't know when but that's the second time this year we let a team run one effective play and put up 30+ points. Glad our kids fought through the injuries and "issues" though.
  10. Hell of a game Dayton, kids came in and made it look like it was supposed to. Glad I don't have ulcers or I might be in trouble tonight. I'm sure Bronco94 will count this as a moral victory and honestly I wouldn't blame him.
  11. Crosby either has 5 or 6 fifteen yard panalties right now. Making it interesting.
  12. Man I promise, I stopped by and talked to CCRed today at work and told him the exact same thing. If it was ever a year they were beatable this might be it. The offense isn't overly dominant and while I agree they have a top ten defense, when you look at their personnel on the d-line and in the secondary it's not as impressive as years past. I think the Guidry boys leaving may be a bigger loss than it looked like on paper. Of course we still have to get there but I would like our chances a lot.
  13. Crosby vs #1 Cedar Park Third round game this year
  14. They steamed Katy's freshman game on Texan Live last night, maybe Dayton will get there too.
  15. No difference really, most of Gorman's studs come from Cali. BG is an actual private school and gets to play for state championships though, IMG is strictly for sports development.
  16. Yes, I think all the kids that can play varsity are playing varsity. Usually jv is just tackling dummies for the varsity. Odd you talk about the about you think the coach is good yet he'd rather have players that can help on the jv to get reps at the expense of losing on varsity, doesn't make any sense at all. #2 from NC isn't the best corner in the district, Tay'lor Perry holds multiple FBS offers and has since his sophomore year. As far as going 2-5 no matter who was coaching that couldn't be further from the truth. Porter went from the cellar to being undefeated in one year because of the coaching hire they made. Dayton had 70+ applicants for their AD job but since y'alls new superintendent and Nations are cool nobody else ever had a shot at the job. Dayton has a guy calling plays who's really a baseball coach and your DC has been a joke but won't be removed from his job because he's familiar. Your supt. is homegrown, your coach is a recycle from former glory, your coordinators wouldn't be hired to coach football anywhere else and the best guy y'all had on the staff went to Groveton. That's what happened, now you're stuck with it.
  17. Wait a minute, if the last five years under the previous coach was a "spilaring downward disaster" what do you call this 2-5 train wreck under Nations first year? The stuff you say just make little to no sense man. You're a game away from being at the bottom of the district, I would at least hope you see some potential for improvement. I like the way you keep hope alive but as of right now you're in the middle of the district talent wise and in the bottom half of the district coaching wise, the top is a long ways away right now. Dayton has taken the mentality of some our friends across the river, "if it was good enough back then it's good enough now". Sucks to have an administration that thinks that way.
  18. Which is why he won't play QB on varsity, yet he was still able to lead his squad to blowout victory over Dayton. Says a lot about what Dayton has to look forward to being blown out by kids playing it of position. Just be lucky Crosby couldn't kick extra points or catch open touchdowns or it would've been a lot worse. Dayton probably could've made it closer but they're coached like the varsity kids.
  19. With Cedar Park going D2 the bracket would be pretty soft until you got to Temple in the third round. SETX gets a break this year because other than Manvel 23-5A and 24-5A don't look as strong. Foster and Angleton are in Region 4 and GeorgeRanch and Ridge Point are 6A.
  20. LOL. After Crosby went in and banged up the #1 ranked jv in Texas, even though our stud sophomores are already on varsity, your thought process brings you to the conclusion your 2-5 varsity will somehow he better prepared than Code Red tonight? These ain't Stew's boys. Heck, these ain't even Hancock's boys. Dayton is going to pick up their fourth consecutive L in decisive fashion like they did against NC and BH.
  21. Like your buddy Bronco94 it's good to have faith. Kids get better everywhere though, you'll see what I mean when those jv kids play against kids next year that were already on varsity.
  22. Losing enrollment to the other teams as in other schools are growing much faster than Dayton and will theoretically have larger pools of talent to choose from going forward. For instance, Porter and NC already have decent players at their current enrollments which is 200-300 kids greater than Dayton's. In a couple of realignments their enrollment will be 500-600 kids greater than Dayton's and they should be even better teams, similar situations for Crosby and BH. By 2020 six of the nine teams in the district will most likely have enrollments over 2000 and BH will be 1800+.
  23. Well, it was proven y'all cheated in that one so maybe Ned really wouldn't have handled Livingston and looked more like they did against Vidor.
  24. I know you just moved back but you'll see Dayton's jv records are often better than their varsity ones. You son and his teammates should enjoy the winning while they can. Dayton has a lot of good kids now but they're still 2-5, they're going to have less next year and it's going to get even tougher as they lose enrollment to the top teams in the district. Hard to see the offense and defense both worse than last year and think there's some player development going on. Good luck to Dayton too, after tomorrow of course.
  25. 6A Region 1 division two is awful solid. 6A Region 3 division one is flat out ridiculous, all the second round games would be regional final worthy. Winner of the 21-5A D2 #2 seed vs 22-5A D2 #1 seed would have a very favorable bracket this year. Newton and WOS look Ike they can both win titles this year, little bit easier road for WOS.
