New Caney can still lose and go into the last game with a chance to be district champs if other things happen. I think BH will be able to manufacture enough rushing yards for their offense to be effective. BH's defensive staff seems to be able to take away what teams do best, I think they'll do a good job against the zone read and the direct snap to Allison. New Caney's passing game is potent but it's simplistic. It basically consist of verticals and a run-pass-option or screen to the multi receiver side. Very effective but I think BH will defend it well enough to to make it a last team with the ball wins type situation. An interesting stat from the Porter vs Dayton game was that Porter scored 44 points on only 46 total offensive plays, that game with Holley coaching will be a lot tougher than you think. They also scored all those points with only 8 rushing yards as a team.

What's the excuses gonna be when Dayton beats Crosby

Yeah, one home loss in five years under Riordan. Lost to Summer Creek the Twins junior year. I don't think that streak is in trouble until Manvel comes to town to start the season next year. -
I think BH is going to beat both New Caney and Porter. If we have a three way tie I think it's going to be between Porter, Crosby and Barbers Hill.

What do you expect? Your squad is 2-5 and coming off three straight L's where you've given up at least 42 points. Now you're talking about coming in and playing enough defense to slow down a team that won 64-0 last week. Not to mention it's the toughest environment in the district. I know it's a rivalry game and anything can happen but I think you're going to be riding back down 90 feeling like you're firmly supplanted in third place in the Crosby, Dayton, BH trio. After this group of seniors graduates and you're left to play those undefeated jv kids that can't help you from going 2-5 now, it will be a distant third. -
I think that's a pretty good score prediction. Dayton is giving up over 35 points per game on the season and they're giving up 45 per game over their last three so the defense s actually trending in the wrong direction. I would just like to see Crosby play clean and continue to improve in the running game like we have the last few weeks. We've also had one shaky defensive performance this year, it would be nice to come out of this game feeling great about that unit again. Long as we come out healthy and with a win I'll be able to accept how ever the aesthetics may look though.

Lol, way to be a trooper. Missing two SEC caliber athletes in the backfield make a difference, along with other things that were going on but view it however you may though. Dayton is one of the teams in the district that people are padding their stats on this year. Why would kids from Dayton go up the street to Crosby? BH is the same distance away and kids have a better chance of playing.
-
Yes, then PNG goes D1 and Vidor gets BH again while Crosby's would get Livingston.

Lol. . .

Good answer. That's why your team is 2-5 and about to be 2-6. Wouldn't be surprised if it gets even worse next season as your participation goes back down due to losing and kids not wanting to play in stadiums where you can hear your echo. There's never a good time to be bad but right now is a bad time for Dayton to be struggling. They're losing enrollment to the rest of the district and they're in the bottom half of the district coaching wise now. You'll find out that those jv scores mean nothing, matter of fact if things were to get any worse kids might start going up the street or better opportunities.

If playing your best football consist of giving up 45 a night I gladly welcome you to town next week.
-
What coach threw a headset when we lost to Porter, we can go back and look at it on Texan Live? Even still it's not comparable to cursing so loud on the sideline it can be heard in the opposing stands.
-
Man, I was trying to be cool about missing the playoffs but oh well. Do you not realize you're giving up 45 points per game on average to the last three decent teams you've played. Playing in front of the home crowd for what was basically your season and a 20+ year playoff streak you gave up 44. That's after giving 42 and 48 the previous weeks. If you play next week against Crosby like you did against Porter you're probably looking at a some 52-24 action. You don't have to worry about Crosby overlooking Dayton or not being fired up. Probably a good thing not that many fans will be there to watch it.
-
I posted that because y'all are 2-5.
-
Wow . . . I'm sure there's a hotline set up somewhere for those that won't be able to let it go.

Man, lot of points between the two teams with so few yards: [Hidden Content]

You're right. I'm just saying they're well coached and have a few players. BH is going to need every bit of 40 to win, and maybe even more.
-
I know I mess with y'all but I know this is a different kind of hurt. I truly hope y'all start a new streak next year, win or lose it's always fun to play and see the Broncos at their best.
-
Y'all have them to end the season, they'll probably be even better by then.
-
Porter is actually good now, Dayton probably didn't play bad.
-
My app says 44-42 Porter Final?
-
Lol, been looking to see who would give up a TD first tonight.
-
BH's staff has that offense figured out. They're shutting out Splendora, who also runs the slot-t, at the half.
-
Good job by BH. A quick stat is that they've played 6 quarters against the slot-t offense and only given up 6 points between Vidor and their current game. BH's staff seem to have this thing figured out.

Well Dayton fans, I know the last thing y'all figured would happen after you ran Hancock out of town was that your 20+ year playoff streak would be on the line in week 7 but realistically that's exactly the case tonight. Just because everyone likes and wants to play for a coach doesn't always mean he's the best option when so many other qualified candidates applied. Everyone may not have liked Hancock but I bet the kids that were left playing for him really wanted to play football, not just be part of something with their friends or play for their dad's buddy. I think you can see what the right hires have done at Crosby, BH, Porter and New Caney. I think you have seen what can happen when you make the wrong one at a place like Kingwood Park. That being said, the Broncos still have a glimmer of hope if they can win this one but as the season has showed thus far, they just don't have the coaching to maximize their talent level anymore. For kids that are used to winning most of their games I think it's tough on their psyche coming off back to back blowouts and losing three of the last four in district play which has probably never happened to them at any level since they've been playing football. Hopefully Dayton gets it figured out for the rivalry's sake but after watching Jim Holley tonight Bronco fans might be even more disappointed.

Porter and New Caney should be sitting between the 1,900-2,000 mark next alignment. Using today's numbers Cleveland would have to add over 1,000 students before the next re-alignment to move straight to 6A. Huffman and Cleveland will most likely come up to 5A.
