  1. Shadow Creek is a bunch of kids that would normally go to Manvel. I wouldn't look at them as a get right game just because the don't have seniors. They'll be young but they'll still be those Manvel/Pearland level athletes.
  2. I can't find an official stat sheet judging from the main players' numbers it looks like Humble held Splendora to under 200 total yards of offense after they rushed for 437 on Dayton. After running for 344 yards in his last game Evan Nichols was held to 74 yards on 22 carries Friday night. He didn't have a run over 10 yards, Splendora's qb was 7-12 for 59 yards to go with 16 rushing yards. I think Splendora is what we thought they were, they just played over their skis on Dayton. I don't think they win another district game other than KP or Caney Creek.
  3. Tough spot for Westbrook to be in these next couple of years. Good football team the Bruins have this year, type of team Flannigan could get at least three deep. The 12-6A D2 #1 seed is set up to do so too. Problem is that you have to beat Lufkin to get it, which avoids Longview and gets you through bi-district. I don't think WB can beat the Woodlands, but who knows how those kids respond to the long ride? A win against Lufkin would make WB the favorite in the first two rounds though.
  4. All that stuff you said might get them an extra TD. Like I said before the season started, unless they have a real off night PAM is going to run through 22-5A with ease. Ned will provide little to no resistance either, I think PAM wins by at least 4 tds.
  5. As intense as your coach is on the sideline that's weird you mention intensity in practice? I know people don't like stats but other than the Humble game, against not so stellar competition Dayton is averaging 23ppg. That's a crazy number for a team that used to be able to scheme 40 on you with no problem, win or lose.
  6. Nah, I'm the one that said judging off the film I would be surprised if Dayton stayed within two tds of NC, you said you wouldn't expect anything less. I sat at the top on NC's side and listened to Nagions holler. Those sound like some older guys if they say they knew it all.
  7. I honestly honk it's down to them and Dayton for the last spot. One scenario I can see though is BH, Porter and Dayton all finishing 5-3 in district play and it coming down to some type of tiebreaker for the last two spots.
  8. You were right about the receivers you mentioned at the beginning of the year, been a long time since I seen a pair like Mcquirter(spelling?) and the DeRouen kid line up for Dayton. At Crosby Gaines would be out there with them but I understand why he plays qb at Dayton, #4 just isn't ready yet. Good luck against BH, kids and community over there are going to be outside their mind next week.
  9. Lol, I would never sit on Dayton's side in their home stadium. Probably should've sat on y'all side though, you had plenty of seats and the sewer smell was pretty intense when the wind shifted on the visitor's side. No way you watched Dayton execute at that jv level you love to speak of last night and can see them doing anything easily, including beating a good team. Luckily y'all have some studs to just make plays on offense otherwise I could easily see Dayton going 4-6. Win or lose, one thing that you'll see from Porter is that their coach didn't need a lot of time to turn the program around or have to be heard cursing in the opposing stands to do it.
  10. Humble's win over Splendora either helped things or hurt things depending on what your perception of those two teams are at this point in the season. Humble and Splendora both have New Caney, Barbers Hill, Porter and Crosby left to play. IMO they'll be considered underdogs in all four games, as we know upsets happen though. I think Crosby and New Caney are in but BH still isn't out of the woods. HUGE game in Mont Belvieu next Friday against Dayton. Even though they look like two teams on different trajectories if Dayton can get the W on the road they basically swap places with BH for the 4th spot for the week and play Porter for their season the first week in October. Regardless of what "place" they're technically in Dayton has to win two of the next three with one needing to be Porter. BH, it's pretty simple assuming Humble and Splendora are what I think. Just win the next three games against Dayton, Splendora and Humble and you're back in the dance for the first time in four years. As it stands right now. Porter can lose to all of New Caney, Dayton and BH and still get into the playoffs with a 5-3 record. They would need wins over Caney Creek, Splendora and Humble without winning one of the previous three I mentioned.
  11. The players looked healthy last night at the NC vs Dayton game, expect Crosby to look like they did the first three weeks of the season now that things are lined out. Our game with New Caney the last week of the season is most likely for the DC.
  12. I'm not trying to dampen your forecast but it's halfway through the season and look how many things you just named? Your defense isn't good because you don't have the personnel but you can manage with it. Even with the quarterback situation, offensively I can't remember last time I saw Dayton with a set of athletes like they have now. That being said, I expect the Barbers Hill score to be similar next week after seeing Dayton in person.
  13. Still too many moving parts with Humble beating Splendora tonight. Y'all don't have to win out but you have to beat Porter for sure and either Crosby or BH on the road.
  14. New Caney doubles Dayton up yardage wise: [Hidden Content]
  15. Trying to do scenarios now. Will post in the 21-5A playoff thread but need the Humble vs Splendora score
  16. 48-26 NC. 9 mins left in the game, probably all she wrote.
  17. 41-26 NC. Not sure why they went for two again.
  18. 35-26 New Caney, defense at a premium in this one.
  19. 35-19 Dayton off the fake punt turnover
  20. 35-14. Dayton scores again
  21. 35-7 New Caney. 11 mins left in second quarter. For whatever reason New Caney just chose to go for two.
  22. Same thing would be happening in New Caney's stadium. Dayton just outmanned tonight.
  23. 27-7 New Caney. Little over 3 mins left in first.
  24. 20-7 New Caney. Still almost 8 mins in 1st
  25. 14-7 New Caney. New Caney two tds on two plays from scrimmage.
