  1. I thought Dayton was going to blow the doors off Splendora. Under the previous two coaches these are the games Dayton would get 40 just going through he motions. They scored at least 40 in 7 of 11 games last year and if you remember they scored 55 on Nederland with an unsettled qb situation. They said the previous guy was running the program into the ground, no disrespect to the kids that played their butts off for Splendora, but he would've killed this Dayton squad. Maybe more kids have come out to play and everybody loves the coach more but maybe there was a reason Hancock was the way he was. They went from the perception of their program being driven into the ground over the last five years to it about to be driven off a cliff in three games. Thats what happens when you hire the hometown guy, now he's the guy for the foreseeable future because he friends with everybody around town.
  2. Yes, and by far the smallest school. They made the cutoff by 7 kids if I'm not mistaken, 1107.
  3. Yeah, people putting for sale signs in the head coach's front yard is showing a lot of support. You made my point how bad Ned is, Dayton beat them in Nederland and just lost by two tds on homecoming to a team that's won six games the last three years in 4A. It's not an upset, Splendora was undefeated coming in and is a better football team than Dayton right now. Everybody has hurt qbs, Crosby put 40 on BH with the backup.
  4. That's what happens when you cheer for an HISD level squad, you forget what a good football team looks like. If you go back an read the thread your prediction is actually the most outlandish one on here. Proves my point that you don't really pay attention to anything outside of GT football to think that a 40-6 win over Vidor or dropping 54 on Santa Fe was anything equivalent to what they would see at Crosby. BH is a good team, their qb is probably going to be all-district and Langelier is right up there with the best play-makers in the district. If Netherly is healthy we probably win the game by two or three more tds though. Just make sure you understand Crosby would punish Central and hopefully gets the opportunity in bi-district.
  5. PNG fans need to take it as a lesson, be careful what you ask for.
  6. Dayton is fortunate Terio Brown is done for the year. Turner is usually the toughest stadium in the district to play in and if Splendora could run the ball and play defense against Dayton on homecoming like that, you have to think that Humble even a man down can do something similar the way their qb can run. Interesting that Dayton hires "the offensive coach" and proceeds to struggle on offense, completely different team now than the one that was scoring 30 and 40+ in those second round losses the last three years.
  7. They have a half page write-up in the Chronicle about the game so for whatever reason they're always late with the stats when hey do that. One stat they did mention was Williams rushing for 133 yards and two tds on just eight carries. Really interested to see what the sophomore qb's numbers looked like in his first extended action.
  8. He's secretly hoping they don't get that same shocker Dayton fans got tonight.
  9. +1, out of likes
  10. You could've almost taken a paycheck from me on this game. I actually think Humble is the favorite next week now.
  11. That's exactly why you never know with Humble. When they lose you scratch your head and when they win you scratch your head.
  12. Yeah, Dayton goes to Turner next week and probably plays Humble for their season.
  13. Told you about the Jayshaun kid BG, 9 carries for 133. Humble is another 21-5A head scratcher though: [Hidden Content]
  14. Wow, didn't really expect this one after Westfield's tight one with Trinity. Just further proves my Manvel theory.
  15. New Caney looks like they're the new Dayton. They just plug some kids in and drop 40. All trash talk aside, BH has improved a lot. That being said, I would be surprised if New Caney doesn't beat BH by a few scores.
  16. Well, New Caney might lead the district in scoring for the second straight year. Still trying to figure out how bad KP is though: [Hidden Content]
  17. D@&$, Dayton gave up 437 rushing yards at 9ypc: [Hidden Content]
  18. Yeah, you can tell BH will eventually be dangerous. Riordan has more horses in the stable though. I think it's Crosby and New Caney with a drop-off, then BH being the best of the next.
  19. Looks like WOS is going to put together a Katy-like performance this year.
  20. Appreciate it, but we all know it runs through Hoka Hey right now. I came to the North Shore game too, and for what it's worth I felt like we played y'all the best so far this year. Probably one or two play from making it real interesting.
  21. I think you have to go with Manvel or Judson as the best team in Texas right now.
  22. This is the reason Crosby only dropped one or two spots in all the polls except the AP after we lost to them. Is it a stretch to say Manvel is the best team in the state regardless of class? Pretty impressive 3-0 resume right now.
  23. Dayton used to be able to draw up 40 in the dirt. Now they can't to do that and the softness looks like it's creeping back in. That 20+ year playoff streak is definitely on the line right now.
  24. I think you're seeing what happens when your coach hasn't been on the sideline in five years.
  25. Really expecting something different from BH with all the talk. They didn't even score as much as they did last year under Gage and Crosby scored more with a backup QB. Langelier is the truth, at least kept BH in striking distance for a while.
