  1. We played Hutto in the regional final, I don't think they're as good as they were then and probably going to lose to Georgetown tomorrow by a good margin. I don't really think it's a reach because they're both 2-0 with two mediocre wins, Connally has two weeks to prepare for them after they come off a tough game with Georgetown and they get them in Pflugerville. Connally has just been bad the last few years so if I had to bet I would take Hutto also.
  2. GCM didn't have much talent to start with but in general I would say yes. When they were in the district with us they had some solid players that went on to play college ball but now they're signing D1's here and there. Most schools benefit greatly from their enrollment increasing. Just off the top of my head I can think of Dickinson, George Ranch, Foster, Manvel, Dawson, Mongomery, Clear Creek, both Magnolia schools and the entire Cy-Fair ISD which is comprised of eight schools all with an enrollment of 3,000+.
  3. Good luck to you too. I hope your coach doesn't get showed up by a backup qb Friday night.
  4. There is no dry spell coming. It's the common line on here because economic factors caused teams in SETX that used to be contenders to fall off as the landscape changed. Crosby is getting good because the administration is putting the infrastructure in place to be successful along with our population rapidly rising allowing us more kids to choose from. As long as oil and natural gas are our main fuel sources Houston will be the energy capital of the world and a lot of the surrounding suburbs will continue to benefit from it, Crosby will be one of those. Most amusing line is when the people say, "Even though your enrollment is climbing every year the talent will eventually run out."
  5. We're in region 3 and we won region 3, last year we lost to the team that won region three just like we have every year Riordan's been here except one. Don't need any film for that, I watched it in person. I even wore my clown suit.
  6. Sad part is if you believe this publication, Crosby would go D1 and have to play three of the top five teams in the state starting with Manvel in round two. Probably be the smallest D1 in the state behind Ennis: [Hidden Content]
  7. No regional success? Did I imagine the regional championship we won two years ago? The heck with juxtaposing posts, you can't even put together two congruent sentences. I can definitely tell you didn't go to school in Barbers Hill.
  8. Connally and Leander Rouse can push them down though. Connally is 2-0 and plays Hutto in their next game to open district play. Connally beats Hutto and they're probably playing Georgetown the last game of the season to send Cedar Park D2. I think Manvel is better than Cedar Park but as a Crosby fan I don't want anymore of either.
  9. That guy was talking about the game 20 years ago when schools sent you a letter and you sent them back VHS tapes you hope the film was still in when they got there. He has no idea what he's talking about as far as today's recruiting. You hit the nail on the head. In today's world a coach can sit in his office during the dead period and watch film on the top 50 receivers in his state in one day. Then when they're out on the trail they come put the tape measure on the kids they liked off of that film. You also hit in on the screws when you talked about the recruiting services/coordinators schools have or use now. To streamline the process even more a school can basically sub-contract out their needs to a recruiting service and get back a list of prospects. The days of having to watch hours of film to see if you like a kid are akin to the hours it took to do something on dial-up internet. They're even offering kids based off camp performances who have sub-par film now days. Good post.
  10. The only td I saw BH score was on a fake punt. When I was recruited they asked for my highlight tape first to see if they actually wanted to talk to me than asked for my three best games. I signed with South Dakota State who just dropped 41 on #15 TCU this past weekend. When you get recruited now days the first thing they ask for is your Hudl film and your Twitter account, if you're good there then they pursue further and ask for game film. I've seen two of the game highlights and two of the scrimmages, pretty clear what BH has and will do unless he's going to play a different starting 22 and run completely different plays our of completely different formations. I work with people who have kids on BH's team, guys that go to all their games and even one that was on the BH school board for years. Like I told you previously, I don't take shots in the dark.
  11. Dude, you didn't explain anything because you didn't make any valid points. Calling Crosby below average, soft and weak is a direct reflection of the school you root for because we run through y'all and other schools around here like an Ex-lax milkshake. Once again you make my point, you +1 and say "this is how I feel about the Dayton Crosby teams." but any time you compare Crosby to someone its a perennial title contender like Manvel. Every follow-up post you juxtapose your previous one. All every single team in the state can do is line up and play who's in front of them, that was so far from your initial argument you look even more foolish trying grasp that straw. I can tell you know very little about the actual game of football, but like you said, you did go to WB a decade after they won a state title and your wife taught in Katy so there's that.
  12. Or unless you have 4 kids you plan on playing college sports and need to relay information based on first hand experience like playing, training and film study. There's always getting lucky though. Or you can look at it so you actually know what you're talking about when you post, but then again you can always take a shot in the dark.
  13. Well, I wasn't born in 1982 so there's actually no way I could've gotten any of the WB team. Sounds like you were a scrub in high school and a jock-sniffer afterwards. "Your response is weak", ". . . but my wife taught at Katy and I lived in PNG" is a better way of putting it I guess, lol? What message board did Crosby get called out on, the one with Cedar Park and Aledo? You're making my point for me every time you post. "Your program is average at best", yet we're still the best thing smoking around here which is why we tell y'all that you suck. If Crosby wins the most and is average at best then everybody else is below average at best, correct? Or did y'all not cover inductive and deductive reasoning in Beaumont?
  14. No, I'm making my point based off the formation and personnel BH was using against Santa Fe. When your starting qb is in the game the rest of your starters usually are too. The plays you use to get recruited are on the highlight film and should be your best ones. If it doesn't look hard to defend the best plays, it's a lot easier to defend the ones that don't work so well. It's easy to pick up that your rb probably won't do much because the reason he got the yards was the movement BH got at the line of scrimmage and there was poor tackling. You qb has good numbers but hasn't faced any athletes that can pressure him from the line of scrimmage or make him hold on to it because of secondary coverage. I could go on and on but you're new and what you'll eventually realize is that I won't post anything I haven't don't research on.
  15. That's cool, just have to make sure Manvel and Cedar Park go D2 and the two teams that can push them D2 are a combined 4-0 right now. Might be a blessing in disguise for Crosby.
  16. Lol, I nearly copied verbatim what you said but it's a typical 14.2 post????? Dude, you just moved to BH. Why are you claiming trophies neither you or anybody you know helped win? Typical TradenupBH post. Crosby knows exactly where we stand, everybody else does too which is why you have to point to other teams around the region to make your point. I will gladly be an average team that wins 10.5 games a year, makes a good run here or there and win district championships while 11-1 is considered our below average performance. I would imagine BH would build a statue for Westeberg if he can get them up to below average the way Crosby is.
  17. BH highlights vs Santa Fe. Even with a new offense they don't look very hard to defend. Maybe Langelier gets behind somebody but I don't see where they score many more points, for the first time this year Crosby will be able to dominate both lines of scrimmage: [Hidden Content]-(mt-belvieu,tx)/football/home.htm
  18. Yeah, when you've been to the playoffs 11 years in a row sometimes there are buzz-saws along the way. Difference is that BH runs into buzz-saws in district play. At least that's what stats and history shows, and you know I'm a stats guy.
  19. IDK. You remember they sucked last year but their qb was pretty good and they had that one good receiver. The qb is back and I think the receiver is too. Only reason I give them a chance is because Ball got shut out 20-0 by Angleton and Angleton just lost to 4A El Campo. Elkins has looked like pretty bad so far and Texas City is hard to judge right now. If I had to put any money on it I would still say Manvel, Elkins, TC and Marshall get in. I think Marshall is the second best team in that district this year and they play Galena Park in a couple of weeks, if GP wins Manvel's chances of going D2 probably rise to 50/50.
  20. My thought process is not to answer dumba** questions. I could care less about someone picking BH to win, at least people around here think someone else has hope besides Dayton.
  21. I really don't think anybody from Crosby is worried about BH. They just acknowledged they're improved. BH fans are going to find out that even with a new offense when you play teams that are bigger, faster and stronger than you that cancels out a lot of what you thought you were. BH was the one team that ran something different that you had to specifically prepare for. Now you're going to run what Crosby practices against every day with more talented players. I think BH might hit a play or two due to busted coverage but you're not going to run the ball or run past Crosby like you were able to with teams you were more talented than. If you're qb takes off like he has been he's probably not making through the game. As far as Crosby going D1, it is what it is. Last alignment we went D1 we lost to quarterfinalist Montgomery in the second round, the first year of that alignment we were undefeated district champs and los to semifinalist Dawson in the third round. Fact of the matter is the way the Fort Bend district looks Manvel could drop to D2 and if Connally gets in Cedar Park will be down in D2 also. Crosby could go D1 and get Nederland, a down Elkins and Rouse before they even had to play a squad like Temple. Unlike BH fans Crosby is used to going to the playoffs so it doesn't make a difference either way, we'll play whoever lines up in front of us.
  22. Mindboggling like what? Saying Crosby will lose in the first round to Nederland?
  23. Dude, they have lotion for your issues.
  24. April, just make sure Dayton gets in the playoffs. Right now y'all look to be solidly in fourth and the wheels could completely come off this weekend. Ned just lost 42-0 and should've beaten y'all if not for a missed fg. Your team actually looks worse with a new coach.
  25. It's the trendy pick to make right now. If we win by 28 they say, "Oh well, you were supposed to." If we win by 7 they say, "I told you it would be close". Don't really have to be accountable no matter what happens. Never mind what they're actually saying is I think Barber Hill can get the same 28 on you defense Manvel did.
