Either way it's good times at Crosby, I expect in excess of 50 division one offers between all of our kids by the end of the Spring evaluation period. The two outside receivers should total more than 30 FBS offers themselves.

Dang, Temple must pay pretty well. Hard not to hire Kay coming fresh off a 6A title. I know Kay isn't the AD but I know Aymond was getting paid pretty well, figured with Kay's years of service he would have been pretty close to where Aymond was before he retired. Interesting that the coaches of the last two 6A-D1 champs could both be moving down to 5A to take AD jobs.

Well, I hope he stays around longer than another year or two for Crosby's sake. I don't think Mann's any older than 32 so he have plenty of opportunities going forward. I don't think GCM had enough athletes for him to be successful right away though, like he could be at a place like Humble if West were to leave. Not only is he hustling for the Crosby kids, he's also helping out kids at other schools.

When I watched his film a year and a half ago I said I thought he looked like a left guard but got beat up on here for not knowing what I'm talking about because he was the #2 ranked OT in the country. Kids that are rated that high usually play left tackle and Patrick looks like more of a road-grading run blocker to me. Completely different type of film from Little, Delance and Diesch. I'm sure he doesn't care either way but moving inside is probably a good thing for him, you make less money in the league but probably get 2-3 more prime earning years.

I actually think King has a good chance at being one of the D2 reps from the district. They might be young but the cupboard isn't bare from what I saw playing against them on the lower levels this year, they have another Tray Williams coming(even wears #3) and another Desmond Coleman clone. I saw the freshman qb throw is about 50 yards off his back foot for a TD when we played them. I think CV and Kingwood look like they would be the #3 and #4 teams but CV was heavily depended on hurts and Sewo O. basically carried Kingwood. Now that they're gone I don't think those schools have any advantage at all over King except for the enrollment, which could come into play down the stretch.

I didn't even mention him because I think it's pretty obvious he's going to make it. The only decision with Patrick is if he's going to play guard or tackle. On the film he looks like a right tackle or left guard, could be on the same path as Cam Robinson if he can stay healthy.

Yeah, he really works hard for the kids and gets some of the marginal players opportunities they normally probably wouldn't get. I believe we've signed over 40 players the last four years.

I think there's four of five kids that signed yesterday that have legit shots at playing in the NFL. I think if Whaley stays healthy he's almost a lock to get drafted out of Arky's system, he probably has more natural talent than Collins or Williams. I think Joseph Pickney is a faster version DJ Swearinger, but might have better ball skills at the collegiate level. I see Johnathan Marshall as a little less explosive version of Emmanual Ogbah, might not be as good a pass rusher but will probably be better against the run. Should be able to play DE in both a 4-3 and 3-4 scheme, might get moved inside if he continues to grow though. Two guys I'm not as sure about are Keenan Murphy due to height, but I think he's better than Rex Hadnot at this same stage in his career and Hadnot had a stellar career at UH. The other kid is Innis Gaines from Westbrook. Partly because of the type of player he is and partly because he gets to play for Gary Patterson who has a history of being a great defensive coach. I wouldn't be surprised to see Gaines get some serious run as a true freshman.

Might as well just let PhatMack make it. He's the only Aggy fan on here that isn't delusional and I know it's not the best of days for him. I respect his takes even if we don't agree, now Als-Timer on the other hand . . . . I wonder?

The reason A&M didn't recruit as well isn't because of what's going on, it's because it's A&M. Aggy made their own bed when they went to the SEC to escape Texas and made some headway because of it, mainly due to a player who wished he could've gone to Texas ironically. There's not enough kids that care about A&M's facilities and playing in the SEC to make that constant propaganda line stand up. Kids see A&M getting whipped on a regular basis, the difference when they see Texas lose is that they know there's a chance they can make a difference if they buy in. They also starting to see A&M for what it's always been and will continue to be in the SEC which is a middle of the road program capable of having good years sporadically. Sumlin's pull is wearing off and recruits now see they have to come live in College Station while winning 6-8 games a year. The Mack Brown comment has 0 validity if you follow recruiting. Mack was the king of the early commits which often pushed players ranking without any real substance. Charlie has been ridden two straight years for not getting commits earlier, instead he prefers to put more emphasis on senior year evaluations. For instance, Mack had a kid named Johnny Shaw from Center/WOS committed from early on in his high school career. Anybody who watched his film saw he wasn't at the elite high school safety level, so when Charlie comes in he pulls his offer which infuriated some, he got the "he doesn't know what he's doing" wrap . Turns out the kid was only good enough to go to La. Tech after further evaluations by other recruiters. Would have been a non-contributor at Texas, instead he flips PJ Locke from Oregon at the 11th hour and Locke plays as a true freshman. Mack was a salesman and a southern gentleman, Charlie just a football coach. Like I said a couple of weeks ago, if Aggy can't out-recruit Texas while they're down right now they're the ones that are probably in more trouble than if Texas couldn't out-recruit Aggy. Just think about when Texas starts winning and picking up 25 commitments on 30-something offers like they were doing during the '06 and '09 title game years.

What you saw from North Shore this year was probably the most watered down version of them you'll see for the next five years. They had a linebacker playing qb, still can't catch/throw consistently in the new offense, one of the weaker o-lines they've had in a decade and no elite running back for the first time in a while . . . and STILL won state in the hardest classification of high school football in America. IDK if Klubnik really makes a difference, you still have to get open on their dbs like 5-star LSU commit Eric Monroe and avoid the rush by 4-star freaks like K'Lavon Chaisson. As far as La Vega vs Argyle, it was speed and athleticism versus pure power. Argyle is 0-2 their last two trips to the title game because Navasota and La Vega's athletes trumped Argyle's system. Giving Jon Kay NS' players was a quicker way to a title than giving him Kingwood's money, same thing with coach Tullos and GR's athletes versus maybe having Friendswood's money.

Friendswood is 4-18 against La Marque. They're 5-4 against Dawson which was built up by winning 3 of 4 the first years Dawson had a varsity, they're 2-3 since then against Dawson and barely squeaked by them the past season in OT. It was the first season since the first year Dawson had a varsity that they hadn't at least made the third round regardless of classification. Friendswood beat Manvel the first three years they had a varsity, then proceeded to get smoked like 60-28 and won't play them anymore. I threw La Marque in because with all the money Friendswood has for whatever reason they couldn't beat those boys from the swamp with their poorly run school district and declining enrollment. Sort of like Celina couldn't beat WOS this year, or Westlake beat North Shore or Argyle beat La Vega, etc. You already know how I feel about it though.

I read what he said and chose not to comment on it, but I do understand the inference he's trying to make. The wording probably should've been more tactful(which is weird because I'm totally sure you're against being pc) as not to offend anybody though. Just like I always tell Bronco Pride, it's a heck of a lot easier to find athletes than it is to find money, find a great coach and build a championship type program all at the same time or within a short span of each other. Nobody probably mentioned Friendswood because they're 12-23 against their old district mates like La Marque, Manvel and Dawson who all do it the way Moss was referring to. It's a lot easier to win like the Dayton teams did under Stew than to try to copy Lake Travis' formula. So while Moss' apartment comment was stereotypical and uncouth, I do agree with the gist of what he was saying. All you had to do was look at most of the title games this past season.

Just saw region three picked up an East Texas and Central Texas district. The last two 5A-D2 champs, Cedar Park and Ennis, are both in region three now. Sucks that Cedar Park with 1,949 kids will almost certainly be playing 5A-D2 again for the next two years. Same for Texas City with 1,920 kids due to being in a district with Manvel(2012) and Elkins(2114.5). Foster and Angleton have been moved into region 4. Region three was probably already the deepest of all the 5A classes, after realignment there's no "probably" to it.

Seems like they could have still thrown Westbrook in there with 21-6A. Going to be some very long rides during the week for the Bruins.

BH is still probably a couple of years away judging from what they had coming through the system, you can always get a transfer though. The teams that could surprise people are Porter and KP in my opinion. KP is big with some good skill players coming through the program and KP's old coach just took over at Porter, which has the same type of athletes as he had at KP with at similar enrollment.

I honestly think the UIL will do what they can to avoid splitting up BH, Crosby and Dayton for whatever reason that may be. I know Dayton was sent east one alignment but I think the UIL almost sees the three schools as an ISD and will avoid splitting them if they can.

Well, looks like 21-5A is a nine team district again. I'm assuming Crosby's tentative game with PAM is off now? Probably only get Manvel and Foster in non-district now. Going to be extremely rough for Caney Creek and Splendora. Splendora basically has 4A numbers and struggled in that class last year and Caney Creek has only won like seven games the last four years. Certainly weakened the district adding those two schools, hopefully Porter gets stronger under their new staff and makes up for it.

Ok, just wondering. You said you knew Nations but Riordan ate him and Stew's lunch when Dayton put the best product on the field that they've ever produced, rung up about 800 yards on them if I remember correctly. Nations and Haynes are old school spread guys, you'll see what I mean by that statement after you see PAM's offense next year if they can get good qb play. I had an opportunity to GA for coach Stig at South Dakota St. and another opportunity to go into coaching for my uncle when he was the AC at one of the middle schools in Aldine ISD. I also turned it down for monetary reasons but that was years ago. I'm very good friends with Josh Davis who's the receivers coach at SDSU under coach Stig right now, he aspires to be an OC and we often talk about offensive scheme. The spread principles that some coaches include now are so far beyond what guys were running 10 or 15 years ago that if you haven't been constantly getting refreshers through actual coaching or clinics you're probably behind. I'm just saying there's some guys around here that know that type of offense extremely well, I would bet the guy BH just hired knows something about it too.
