Fort Bend Marshall (21) @ Crosby (27) FINAL
Cougar14.2 replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
Coach Prieto has 10 playoff wins in the three season he’s been at Crosby yet this is going to be the first season we don’t start 0-2 on his watch, and he’s never had a team as banged up as he does now. Even when we were getting beat down last week all of our 768 assistant coordinators in the stands understood that they wouldn’t be making a difference down there either. We understand the process in Crosby. -

Game sealing pick by Karson Larkin. He’s the youngest son of a “former” Crosby poster😂 -

Game winning TD by Crosby. Very nice work by the offensive line in a clutch situation. -

I do, but that wasn’t one of PAM’s better teams if I remember right? We lost by 56 with one of our better teams, injuries or not there’s been some questions being asked this past week. -

Out of likes, +10 though. Football guys understand football. It’s not always going to look pretty when it’s good on good. -

We’re trying to be ready for the three week stretch of BH, KP and PAM. We have the last five weeks of the season off after that. It would be nice to develop at least some continuity before that stretch though. Even if we get some kids back for the BH game there’s still an acclimation period we’ll have to go through. Just glad the kids and staff Crosby’d tonight. We’re not a perennial state title contender yet but regardless of who’s in front of us, when you lose a game like we did last week people in town get disturbed. -

We’re one dimensional right now. We can’t even throw the ball because we can’t beat anybody on the outside to loosen up coverage. We still can’t run our base offensive set because one of our backs is hurt. Half of the guys we had in the box on defense tonight are backups. We’re not good in the return game because we’re down to the 6th return guy. We have a layup next week so I’m not sure who’s going to be allowed to play but we should have at least the two receivers back in a couple weeks. -

Luck is when opportunity meets preparation. The staff had the available players prepared and they took advantage of the opportunity to win the game. -

Should be up 21-7 right now. Driving it nearly in the red zone and getting it to 2nd and 3 and we decide to not pick up the 6 or 7 per carry we were averaging? Oh well, we still aren’t playing good but hopefully it’s good enough tonight. -
Can’t believe you’re in this thread dogging anything having to do with Crosby.
-
That smell is actually hexavalent chromium. A lot of them have it embedded on their clothes when they come home from work.
-
Just let them talk. Come November they’ll still be hoping and we’ll still be expecting.
-
Yeah, and maybe they’ll train you to run the pantograph so you can start a business cutting out oars to sell to the local home-puller🤷🏾♂️
-
Lol, Crosby has reached a new stratosphere when lining up against FB Marshall is seen as crawfishing.
-
Y'all probably need to get in the weight room too. With it being as stormy as it is I'm sure y'all could use the extra strength to tie your houses down. Y'all can't afford for much more of your population to float away before y'all drop another class.
-
Nah, that ended in July. It's dream killing season, we just haven't woken up yet.

IDK how that's going to really work though? Even if you don't build "new" schools you're still going to need to build new schools in some capacity. Crosby's new school was built to hold just shy of 3,000 kids. By the time they're finished with the all the subdivisions they're building in and around Newport and that huge swath of land they're developing on your way to Huffman, Crosby's school will be overcrowded. Crosby ISD owns enough land where we could easily build a freshman campus though. I think people just undershot the growth in Fort Bend and Harris County. Katy Paetow picked up 990 kids since 2020 and are projected to be over 5,000 by the next realignment if they don't get another high school. Per their community newsletter, "The timeline for constructing High School No. 10 was delayed because the bond election was delayed from November 2020 to May 2021, Vierling explained. When the new high school does open, it will help relieve enrollment at Paetow High School. If it isn’t built, Paetow High School would have nearly 5,000 students by 2024, Vierling said.". I really don't see a way around just keep building new schools because the contractors definitely aren't going to stop building houses in those areas. I think y'all may be right in terms of your inner-city ISD schools being able to contract but I don't see how that's going to work in the suburbs at all? Even in the inner-city you run into problems though. Prime example is Madison and Westbury which are only about 5 miles apart but if you combined the two then neither campus has the capability of housing 4,000+ kids they would have so you would need a new school or a massive expansion at one of them. Same for your Dallas ISD schools which are even closer together than most Houston ISD UIL schools. -

They picked up about 500 kids since 2020 and aren't even finished with that subdivision right south of the school that exploded their enrollment. They're closer to being done with their other huge subdivision Liberty Lakes but they're going to be well over 4,000 kids by the 2026 realignment. Their school was only built to house 3,500 kids so they'll either need another one or a freshman campus. With their old head coach moving into an AD only position it leads me to believe that a bond for yet another high school may be in the works in the not too distance future. IDK where they would put it though, unless they bought the old golf course from the city and put it there. Sheldon ISD could easily split CE King's attendance zone into two 5A schools and still be formidable with the benefit of open enrollment. -

Imagine somebody from Huffman making comments on who's going to be playing in December🤣🤣🤣 Dude you're funny. Y'all are about to get crop dusted in district play by a bunch of TIG welders' kids and some boys that play in a mosquito pit. -

We're not Huffman bro, we don't actually suck in real life. If we did we wouldn't have made the 5A playoffs 16 of the last 17 years. You of all people should know how stepping up in competition can be difficult the way Crosby erased Huffman when they had the audacity to move into our district. Last time Crosby go beat down like this in an opener we went 10-3 and lost a tight one to Pearland Dawson on a bad call. Look at our non-district schedule over the years. Crosby coaches don't schedule The Sisters of the Poor in openers like y'all did just so the kids can squeak by for a feel good win. Our goal is to be playing on Black Friday and beyond so we schedule accordingly. -
That's the crazy part. We looked so solid against Lamar and then in a span of two weeks we get 8 kids hurt. We even have some backups of the hurt players hurt. I don't even think some of the kids we had playing last week were even listed in the program? It is what it is though, we won't see anything else like Lamar or King on the schedule this year.
