  1. It doesn’t have anything to do with the comparison of the programs win wise, I’m talking about the makeup of the team from a personnel standpoint. Jett Huff was a senior QB coming off a good junior season and had good/experienced weapons in the outside, nothing great, but sufficient. We have Cyrin Myles who may be even better. They had a great 1/2 punch at RB, in almost ever interview Coach P has talked about the importance of his two running backs. College Station had a great defense last year and it was led mainly by their LB core and that main LB was Jaxson Slanker. Kid played at an elite level throughout the playoffs. Crosby’s best position grip on the entire team is its LB core and we have two kids better than Slanker, one already receiving an offer after his freshman year. Crosby’s best win of late is beating Liberty Hill to make it to the state finals. Who cares who beat y’all in relation to anything to do with Crosby?
  2. Oh ok, Heights and Lamar are two completely different teams with two completely different levels of accomplishments. I didn’t mean to give you one then. They beat Lamar once in 10 years. You shouldn’t ever take one teams vs another results in any relation to your own. For instance, BH played Crosby a lot closer than PNG did and still lost convincingly the next week to them.
  3. Exactly, which is no different from the high income zip code teams letting you know how many state titles they have and how comfortable their life is. The trash talk from the SLC fans to the Duncanville fans before they get blown out is legendary. As far as Crosby stopping the run, I know that’s somewhat of a “running” joke among the top tier teams in the state but I can promise you were getting closer. Last year’s version of College Station making a “run” in 5A-D1 region 2 gives me hope.
  4. When did y’all play them last? Lamar played for the 6A-D1 title in 2012 and lost to and Kyler Murray led Allen squad. They’ve only lost one district game in the 10 years since then and none of their non-district losses have been to BH in that time period. Lamar produces the highest level dbs in the Houston area as is evident from the recent names like Holton Hill, Anthony Cook and Deshawn Jamison to name a few. Not to mention NFL All-Pro receivers like Josh Gordon. Lamar is top 5-7 in terms of personnel in the Houston area EVERY year regardless of record. *PS - I know @BHFAN is getting Lamar confused with Lamar Consol. but he’s not @Separation Scientist so he gets a pass. I don’t think he is anywhere as naive as @Separation Scientist is about football
  5. Oh ok, I got you. Taylor is still going to be the team that makes the playoffs from that district over Strake Jesuit though. SC isn’t really a D1 factor in the Houston area in D1 yet, they’re not on the same level as a North Shore, Atascocita or Ridge Point yet. They do have better personnel than anything BH would ever see in 5A-D1 though
  6. Shadow Creek is in the district with Pearland and Alief Taylor so they’ll always go D2 until Manvel moves back up to 6A. You’re absolutely correct though, whoever wins the third round game between Shadow Creek and Katy will play Austin Westlake for a chance to go to Dallas.
  7. It was originally scheduled to be held at Sheldon ISD Stadium, it’s been moved to since then though. Most outlets still have the original schedule time and dates
  8. SMH, Manvel about to get beat down by a bunch of ex-Manvel kids. Crazy that this will be their first ever meeting. Going to be one of the special environments in Texas on opening Friday if the weather holds up.
  9. August 26th at 7pm from The Jungle in Crosby, TX Huge test for Crosby right out of the box as CE King comes to town with some momentum after their best season in 30 years. They went 10-3 losing to Katy in the 6A-D2 regional semis last year. You can pretty much say after the graduation of their two stud running backs and the transfer of their starting QB to New Caney, that CE King lost all of its offensive production from a year ago. They do have a couple of very solid returning receivers though. The Panthers picked up a QB transfer from Atascocita and an edge/DE transfer from Houston Yates who’s currently committed to Colorado. Opposite him will be 6’4” 240lbs Texas commit Dylan Spencer. A lot of people are saying CE King should have one of the best defensive lines in the state this year, I guess Crosby gets the first chance to test them. Will Hicks is a physical P5 level safety on the back end but not committed anywhere yet. From the Crosby side of things it’s just going to be about not getting dominated at the line of scrimmage. You should expect to see a significantly better pass rush from CE King than the one Lamar had but the o-line’s performance against Lamar gives some optimism that we’ll still be able to hold up. I think we’ll execute a lot better to open the season this year than we did in the opener against Carthage last year, and even the next week at Manvel too for that matter. One the defensive side of the ball I think things are less concerning. We’re going to give up some deep shots because we don’t have elite corners and if your QB can run it we’re probably going to get gashed a time or two from taking poor pursuit angles on a pass rush but overall Crosby should be very solid defensively. I think that unit should do more than enough to keep us in the contest Friday night. Crosby is going to be very good at some point this year if we can get healthy and stay there. The only two questions are when will we be good and will it be good enough?
  10. I think this article highlights some good points about Crosby this year. I think our performance yesterday, limited as it may have been, reinforced some expectations for the season. We missed some things that were there on the offensive side of the ball but that’s somewhat expected early in the season, the execution was still crisp compared to where it was at this point last year. Even with our execution not being as clean we still pretty much dogged out Angleton in a last year’s scrimmage because of guys like Casey, Coop and Strahan doing work at the line of scrimmage. A huge question mark was how we would look in the trenches now that all of those guys are gone and I think Crosby has a sufficient answer. Crosby’s o-line coach is legit. If we’re not going to get pushed around by Lamar at the LOS then you’re talking about only a handful of teams that have the capability in 5A-D1 to do so. If we can get all the way healthy and stay healthy we may be on to something this year.
  11. The Crosby vs Lamar scrimmage got called early but I think Crosby fans should be optimistic. Crosby held up very well in the trenches on both sides of the ball considering the personnel lined up across from them. It’s going to be all about staying healthy this year
  12. That’s the issue though. You don’t know anything about football so you NEVER post about it. You spend more time on this site scrutinizing my post than telling us anything useful about BH’s football program. I post all types of information about Crosby football, the PA guys are in this thread posting about their squad, there are a couple of Baytown guys who have provided some analysis but nothing from you all offseason about BH. I think that’s because either you don’t know(which I do know for sure) or people just don’t talk to you? Crosby fans talk, everybody from Aledo to Texarkana and from Port Arthur to Port Lavaca know that. It is what it is but for whatever reason you in particular seem to have real complex with it. I “attacked Abseck”, I went on a “rant” about TW? Come on dude, for someone who has such a great life you sure do complain about a bunch of myopic issues. I think the only thing comparable to a 12 year old is all the whining you do.
  13. No real surprise here as Myles gets the preseason nod as the top signal-caller in the Space City area: [Hidden Content]
  14. I mean, you would think that there weren’t 11 other teams on their schedule last year
  15. Lol, it's actually just the opposite. Information about player transfers has been taken off this site(I assume similar sites as well) and tried to be used punitively against transferring players during eligibility hearings. You're way too naive on the subject of THSF to understand any of that though. I don't claim to "know it all", I just happen to know exponentially more than you. However, numerous coaches from the SETXSports coverage area have DM'd me over the years to ask that I post stuff, ask that I remove stuff, tell me they love what I'm posting but can't like it, send me statistical corrections or just ask me a general high school football question. I was once even asked by a coach to write a letter of support to the TEA, which I obliged. I've had multiple parents DM me for recruiting advice and have been sent film to break down. I've even been asked if I would be interested in doing some freelance writing on THSF. Everything I've ever written about Crosby ISD hasn't been positive. I think the "powers that be" at Crosby understand that if I'm posting it then that's probably the majority of the sentiment. I've had at least one son in Crosby's football program since 2013 and can't even count the number of times their coaches have referred to me as "14.2", as do may fans who know me. The only things they've ever told me usually involve expletives of affirmation. For instance, they love reading the stuff I say to you. I'm a real THSF guy SS, you're just a guy who watches THSF football. Never forget that.
  16. When you have to speak in front of people that make $800k it's useful to have a strong mouthpiece. It's not as simple as root, filler and cap.
  17. I think we need to wait for more information to come out. Soulja might be right, BU may have had to resort to playing teams from Jerusalem this year? I'll hit up my Hebrew connect and see if he knows anything about this.
  18. I think they look pretty good. They're just falling in line with the rest of the schools like Oak Cliff, Desoto, Duncanville and Cedar Hill in the are who have 10+ different uniform combinations. With the tax base in those areas being what it is it's pretty impressive how much funding their receive for athletic amenities and facilities.
  19. Goes to show he didn't take the job because he wanted to live in a "great community" like SS thought. He wanted a bigger payday for him and his family before retirement and was setting up Jr. Not to mention his frustration with the supt. coming to him making suggestions on how he should be coaching the team, or kids pulling up with boats at Summer workouts or some of the other buy-in issues he wasn't used to dealing with at Allen. He was just there for the check, not because he actually thought he could turn BH into a winner on the football field.
  20. I don't think people really want TW there, it was a joke in response to KF89's comments. However, the people I show your post to really do think you're an idiot. They say people like you are the ones who give BH a bad name. I've never had a boss from BH but I have had several guys from later 20's to retirement age work for me and NONE of them have ever talked about "the quality of life in BH" as much as you do and these are guys who report/reported to me every work day. There ain't a lot of tech execs. or neurosurgeons living in BH, the people with sense understand that if they're working on the same unit or sitting in the same hall as you then y'all are probably more alike than different. I take/took jabs at Carthage, Manvel, Texas High, Huntsville, etc. I saw CE King's receivers' coach in the dollar store the other night and told him "You know we got y'all by 20, right?". Crosby and our rival Dayton used to legendarily go back and forth on here, Lil Tex could fire back with the best of them. That's because he was actually an avid high school football fan though, something you lie about being. The issue with BH, and not even really all BH fans but just you in particular, is that you're too naive on the subject of THSF to actually provide any real football analysis of your program. Your football knowledge is akin to the mother of the first chair in the clarinet section, which might actually be a slight to some of the PNG band moms. I'm not jealous of anything in the BH community because I can guarantee 90% of them ain't clearing it like this Crosby boy is. I'm jealous of the guys on this board that are living up on lakes and shooting dear off their front porch. Go back and read your post, you never talk about anything football related outside of complaining about results. Every one of your post has to do with something with the administration, life in BH or a poorly supported rebuttal to one of the other posters who know 10X the football you do. I don't need or care to know the inner-workings of BH. What I can do though is walk down the hall or pick up the phone and have all 22 kids named that are currently at practice running with the 1's, along with injury reports and anything else I could think to ask. You can't, otherwise you would've mentioned the big news out of BH camp last week.
  21. After seeing Dayton in person and reading the Nederland review I’m going to have to go with FB Marshall, Texas City, PNG and FB Willowridge as my prediction for the playoff teams from the D2 district in that order.
  22. Dayton scored 3 tds to Huffman’s 0 in the controlled portion. Dayton scored 11 points and Huffman scored 0 in the 1 live quarter. Two takeaways I have are that Huffman isn’t going to challenge the Orange County teams for a district title and Dayton is probably still a year away from making the playoffs. Unless the Dayton staff was holding back considerably with their play calling there’s no way you should look that much more physically imposing than your opponent and still perform the way they did.
  23. I think it’s all about how that off campus environment correlates with your team. Playing district schools like Summer Creek, Kingwood Park and Humble all at Turner never felt like a huge disadvantage outside of the officiating. There are no logos on the field or end zones and not much difference in the home and away side seating. It always felt/feels more neutral than a huge home field advantage. On the opposite end of the spectrum is Glenda Dawson High which is seven miles away from Pearland ISD Stadium. Playing Dawson at The Rig when the Eagles are rolling is one off the more crazy environments in THSF. This year two of Crosby’s four away games are against the Baytown schools at Stallworth Stadium. Again, no logos on the field outside of the generic white district logo and no paint in the end zones. The two Baytown schools we play away are relatively close to Stallworth but they’ll probably still feel like Crosby home games. I think it’s the community and crows that make the stadium feel like home, not necessarily the colors on the field.
