  1. The catch by Kirkwood looks even sicker from ground level, db couldn’t have played it any better. Great defense just got beat by greater offense:
  2. C-Patt also got the game-winner against La Tech Saturday, great past weekend for Crosby football.
  3. Biggest instance to me was the 4th and 8 call where Coach Todd went for it in SOC’s own territory down only one point but still had like 8 mins left in the game. You punt that 10 out of 10 times but it ended up being the call that led to the game winning TD for SOC. Another thing is why did they keep putting Allen in the wildcat? It was t nearly as effective as just handing Steffens the ball, especially if you weren’t setting up play-action off of it. You run it late and he slips down putting you in 4th and short, then you send the qb under center in the most crucial situation of the season knowing there’s a good chance the exchange gets fumbled the way SOC was going to crash down at the snap. I thought SOC’s staff did a better job of getting the matchups they wanted on the outside. They literally had to pull little Allen off #11 after he beat him on that slat for a td and then again for like 50 yards on another catch. I didn’t think SOC had anybody that matchup up well with Llewelyn and Aledo’s staff never got him the ball. Obviously SOC was bigger, faster and more talented than Aledo but I thought the difference in this one was SOC looked like they had Coach Todd’s mentor, Reginald Samples, on the sideline.
  4. I never predicted either of those teams to beat TH, and I didn’t say now that y’all beat them that they aren’t good. I said I thought y’all would get about 24 and you got 31, big whoop. I said y’all were lucky to get TC in the second round because they could score. You haven’t seen an offense as good as PNG’s since Crosby which is why they scored the most points on TH since we blasted y’all last year. LMAO😭, you dbs couldn’t cover Chance Prosperie, you think they’re going to check Kirkwood. Lol, a corner with one D1 offer? Jaylon Gilbeau has 25 offers, turn on the tape of him trying to check Kirkwood. Nobody plays press man on Crosby and not get burned. You’re talking about our o-line but we ran for 352 yards on 32 carries on TH last year, we had a tougher time running the ball on Nederland. Based on the film I’ve seen we won’t have much issue with anybody in TH’s front seven. As far as TH not having to show anything on offense, I just don’t think there’s much to show. If Stewart can’t run for 200 yards on us TH won’t move the ball much at all. Y’all’s qb struggles to make basic varsity throws and he’s not much of a threat with his legs. Just on basic comeback routes against PNG I saw him throw one and take the receiver OB, he threw one wide and threw another one into the dirt. That’s without near the pressure he’s going to see from Crosby defense.
  5. Not related but Crosby legend Austin Walter got to the podium after he scored his first regular season TD against the Texans yesterday: [Hidden Content]
  6. You’ve only handled our district mates because y’all didn’t play Crosby in the second round like you did last year. You saw what we did in the second round to your district mate versus what y’all did to them though. Crosby may have 35 at the half against TH? Yeah, TH’s defense is statistically 1.25ppg better than it was last year but I don’t really see anything drastically different that says they’ll be able to slow Crosby down. I actually thought the defense looked better with Clayton Smith last year, Brown plays that role now and he’s not near the player Smith was. Plus y’all still try to play that press man coverage we burned y’all in last year. Our district mates you had the success against didn’t have the personnel to take advantage of those flaws, Crosby does though. Offensively I just don’t think TH is all that great. They just scored 37 offensive points on the worst defensive team to make the playoffs from our district. Majority of those points were because PNG was taking bad run fits against that power play. QB consistently misses routine throws and I don’t see any stud playmakers on the outside. I don’t think Crosby is as physical as we were in the front seven last year but we’re faster and judging from the games I went back and watched I don’t think TH has the personnel to push us around up there like AMC did. I always say playoffs are about matchups and I think this is a much more favorable one than what we lined up with against AMC. AMC is a mirror image of BH and Crosby struggled with them too, very similar scores in those contest. We haven’t struggled with anybody else since early September though.
  7. Crazy I forgot that one. Crosby was 36-7 against Texas City at the half, 50-13 after three quarters. Crosby didn’t have a lot better athletes than TH did last year, I just thought we looked a lot better coached. TH didn’t seem like they knew what to do on defense the entire night? Last year TH had an advantage on Crosby at about half the position groups on the field, this year they don’t. My shorthand analysis of this game is, ”Can the TH offense score more than the 52 points Crosby will get on their defense?”
  8. Crosby gets an undefeated Texas High for a second consecutive year. Last year in the area round is was 62-28 early in the fourth quarter then Crosby got off the gas. Can the Tiger avenge the their underwhelming performance from last year? Texas High looks to be a little better on defense than they were last year and slightly less effective on offense than their previous campaign. Crosby’s defense probably isn’t what it was last year but the offense seems pretty equivalent. Does Crosby win back to back regional titles or does TH avenge last year’s drubbing? Common opponents: PNG 21 - TH 44 Marshall 12 - TH 27 PNG 28 - Crosby 69 Marshall 14 - Crosby 52
  9. I remember earlier in the year AAW had the audacity to get on here and apologize for not getting some game threads up in time, smh. It took everything in me not to go old school 14.2 and say, “Good, these ex-prima donna welders on here deserve to have to find their own information for once.” Probably a little biased but we definitely have one of the best few moderators on the boards I’ve seen . . . and y’all know I’ve checked.
  10. Excellent assessment. The only thing I don’t agree with is that “the defense did everything they could to give it away”. #15 fumbling the interception after when he could’ve just gone down and we win by 10, maybe? People were struggling with this in my section I was sitting too but what we were looking at is our defenders being blocked, we just hadn’t seen that in the 12 games prior so some of us mistook it for the defense trying to “give it away”. That was some serious personnel AMC had on the I-line last night.
  11. Not going to lie. I thought Bellville would give WOS a better game? Feels like the Chain Gang might get yet another shot at Gilmer’s offense if they can put two more performances together like the one they had last night.
  12. Appreciate it Prep, had a good time at y’all’s games. We’ll clean up those boys from Texarkana for y’all next week too. They beat a couple of 12-5A teams and think that freshwater combo they got from Walmart can land these redfish. We’re about to show them what this “Salt Life” is all about though.
  13. No doubt we need to play cleaner, those penalties kept at least 10 points off the board and maybe even more. On the flip side TH will not be able to do what AMC did to us at the LOS though. Not to mention their offense isn’t near as good as AMC’s, although their defense may be a little better? I went down to the lower level last night on the rail and realized AMC is the same size as Manvel. I haven’t seen Crosby on the field with a team that size in our division since FB Ridge Point in 2015. I think Texas High is a waaaayyyy more favorable matchup for Crosby than AMC was. TH is basically Texas City with a better qb and rb, and not near what we just saw at the LOS. They look a lot closer to Marshall in that area.
  14. Crosby was up 17 points with 7 mins left after a penalty filled 3rd quarter that hindered our offense. Not to mention a drive killing penalty at the end of the first half which caused us to only go into the half up 10 points. Crosby takes the ball away from you. Outside of the teams that play in garbage district like Aledo, Liberty Hill and SOC I would imagine Crosby may have the most takeaways in all of 5A-D2? Those turnovers AMC had last night were a feature of playing the Cougars, not a bug in AMC’s offense. The three pics AMC’s qb threw last night we just part of the probably 20 ints Crosby has on the season. That fumble you’re talking about by their back was off a strip by #90 that he practices every week. I appreciate the compliment though. You know your team is starting to be seen in a different light when people start to have the audacity to question third round wins.
  15. Luckily there wasn’t any controversy as to whether he got in or not tonight:
  16. Very hard to win games at this level when you get dominated at the line of scrimmage the way Crosby was tonight. This was your Cedar Park, Elgin and Ridge Point type games Crosby would lose by 28 a few years ago. I loved the heck out of Rio for what he did for the program but right now we’re just better coached than pretty much everybody around the state and teams are finding that tough to deal with.
  17. Great season PNG. You finish 3rd in the district and still play until Thanksgiving. That’s salty no matter how you slice it but I think it’s especially good for y’all this year considering how bleak it looked for the Indians at different times this year.
  18. People keep tip toeing around it but what I saw today was Aledo get outcoached. Yeah, SOC’s athletes looked twice as good as Aledo’s but they mash teams like that by 40 on a regular basis. Jason Todd is a Reginald Samples disciple and SOC looked like Skyline-lite today. SOC’s talent level vs the rest of the 7 teams left in the 5A-D2 playoffs is unreal.
  19. Dang, I didn’t realize Carthage still had half their starters out with COVID? I’m sure they would’ve won by 40.
  20. King’s starting rb is injured. He played qb most of the game against Shadow Creek and is the best player in their team. #11 is the normal qb when Wembley isn’t playing qb. Catastrophic loss for King.
  21. Man, CE King looks significantly bigger and more athletic than Katy all over the field. Katy’s defense on a pretty much yearly basis is unreal though. They just grind you into the dirt, and this will probably be Katy’s toughest game until they play Westlake in the semis.
  22. I know it’s a rivalry game but if you look at their body of work in district play the PNG game is the only outlier. They lost to all the other four teams that finished in front of them by double digits.
  23. I think you’re the one more than anybody in this board that felt FBM should be ranked there. All the way from defending how they schedule, which we said might effect them the way it did last year against PNG, to taking bets on them. When you’re ranked in the preseason, don’t lose and have a relatively solid body of work it’s hard to get moved down.
  24. Fact of the matter is that the “football people” like Stepp think Crosby is the pick to clean out South Texas for the second consecutive year. Coming from a guy that actually has a hand in ranking the teams that speaks volumes. We need to own the expectations and show everybody we are what we tell them.
  25. That’s crazy because they’re all on the roster except Crites who’s the only one who doesn’t have an offer. Some of them did have different numbers though. You don’t get offers if you don’t play, you don’t have to be an expert to know that. That’s recruiting 101, this is probably just a more informed board than the one you’re used to posting on.
