  1. When you play the good teams in the playoffs outside of Crosby, BH is the only one that can match up with the TH, Montgomery and Consols. of the region. Sometimes we get confused by what we think we're seeing. TC isn't even good and somehow finished second in this district? PNG backs into the playoffs with a third place finish because KP beat Nederland. Take Santa Fe off the schedule and PNG is giving up 44ppg over their last seven contest and is 3-4. BH, TC and PNG are pretty much all the same as far as team strength. However, BH's personnel matches up better on any given night than what TC and PNG put on the field this year. That's why they're the only team Crosby had trouble with this year.
  2. That line of thinking has been there since football was created. The issue is that now there are multiple platforms for parents to air those grievances. You give a parent a place to rant and all of a sudden their personal opinion becomes a theory after two or three more parents, who may have never given much thought to the issue, latch on and agree with them. Now one parent's opinion has turned into 20 people talking about it in the stands. Parent's opinions are the absolute last thing that should have an influence on personnel which is why I've never talked to any of the school Crosby my three sons have played for to date. Hell, I ran our coach down and he still put my son on varsity after breaking his leg and missing his whole freshman year. That being said, I don't think you put your kid in that situation by airing that here but if there's even an inkling of truth to what he's saying then he's probably not going to get very far with a 1on1 meeting with the coach. My personal opinion on the situation is right in line with yours though. I don't believe a coach would take food out of his family's mouths and get fired by not playing kids who could help him win, but I also don't believe every parent who has this issue is making a false accusation either.
  3. That would make their district 1-15 the last four years in the playoffs. I would imagine Friendswood moves over to 10-5A-D1 when Hightower and Paetow move up which should help 9-5A-D1's record.
  4. Lol, you’re just going to take whole neighborhood out of our attendance zone? If we would be average without Barrett Station then we would really be bad if you took away Newport, where 70% of those kids you think live in Barrett actually stay. If you took away the Indian Shores and Lake Shadows neighborhoods we would be less talented. Pretty duh statement to say “If Crosby had less enrollment they wouldn’t be as good”🙄
  5. Vidor is the perennial underdog I cheer for, therefore I’ve come to like them. A few weeks ago Vidor supporters were complaining that they weren’t ranked after the body of work they had put in to date. I commented in that DCTF rankings thread that they shouldn’t be worried about the rankings and instead focus on how they’re going to matchup with the east Texas district at the line of scrimmage in the first and potentially third rounds. Well, here we are. Vidor is in a situation where a bi-district win probably gets you three playoff games. Riordan was 2-0 against the slot-t at Crosby and has some horses up there at TCH. I’m cheering for both teams in this one albeit for different reasons, good luck to the Pirates.
  6. We wouldn’t have gotten embarrassed. It wasn’t embarrassing to lose to Nederland at home last year. We would’ve gotten beaten by a team from the strongest district in the region. BH has the second best talent of this district, full stop. The fact that they play like garbage at times is an entirely different issue than what their projection is on any given night. PNG is just that pretty girl that’s easy to score on.
  7. Mark it down. BH is going to play FBM the same way they did Crosby, they know it won’t matter if the lose because they’re supposed to anyway. That’s the most dangerous team a team that’s supposed to win can play. BH matches up relatively well all the way across the board with FBM except for their o-line against BH’s d-line. If anyone in this district besides Crosby can beat FBM it’s BH. BH gets them in prime picking position coming out of that weak district schedule. *BTW BHFan, that’s my analysis and FBM is all black. I’ve come to expect that crap you said in the other thread from SS but I viewed you as a real football guy and that was my real football analysis. You accuse me of all that bs bit can’t point to one time I said BH wasn’t going to be, shouldn’t be or wasn’t the 2nd best team in the district? All freaking year bro, that’s even after y’all made me look dumb and looked suspect in half the games you played this year. You’re the one that’s surprised about the super sophs., I’ve been watching them play since they were 12. I’ve seen Dixon beat my son for the 200M district title, I was there when Fuentes won the the hurdle title and know full well what type of athletes BH has in the pipe. I also know all those stud sophomore football players are even better basketball players because my buddy coached them all. Good luck to y’all too but that real Busch League on your part bro.
  8. The ONLY reason PNG is in the playoffs and didn’t finish 5th is because KP beat Ned. PNG would’ve been out in a three way tie-breaker. What are you talking about you were underestimated, you played exactly how you were predicted? The only position group on the entire field PNG is better than Ned at is QB and maybe you can say RB depending where Fuselier plays. PNG gave up 44.3ppg in district play to everybody not named Santa Fe. What exactly am I supposed to be checking?
  9. Never asked you to have faith in them. If BH plays to the top of their ability they’re the second best team in the district which is why I picked them second to start the year. They’re 4th because of inconsistency. TC is a joke of a second place finisher in this district. They’re a defensive team that isn’t that great on defense and they play offense at a JV level. The other teams were just so suspect that they were able to go 6-1 because they have good athletes. Texas High will beat TC 35-14 in the second round and TC’s offense will never be a threat. Any offense with a pulse can score 40+ on PNG. If y’all can get past GP’s slot-t then you get Montgomery and their stud rb, if he doesn’t run for 250 yards and 4tds on PNG I will be surprised. Outside of Santa Fe look how many points PNG allowed in district play, yet they finished 3rd and weren’t even as good as last year when they finished 4th.
  10. Correct. Y’all will luck up and get Texas City this year. Barbers Hill is probably the second best team in our district though. After that you get PNG or Montgomery who aren’t on TH’a level either. You don’t have to worry about a crop-dusting from Crosby or FB Marshall until the regional final.
  11. Nah bro, Nederland has more talent than PNG at every position group on the field other than QB and RB. PNG has less talent than KP this year. You’re right though, Ned had the 3rd or 4th most talent in the district and finished in a clear cut 6th.
  12. I’ve seen your 7th and 8th grade A&B teams. I’ve seen your 9th grade team get destroyed. Your jv barely beat Crosby and we have 12 sophomores playing up. Only two of the stud kids I’m talking about BH has is 7th-11th grade are black. Not a single one of the stud kids I just named in the past four years at BH were black. I have sons who’ve played against every kid from BH the last 10 years except the current 8th and 9th graders. I’ve watched 10 times the BH underclass games you have the past decade. How am I biased against BH when I picked y’all second in the district? You get butt hurt because your team continues to underachieve and I point it out, not because I’m being any of the stuff you accuse me of. This is the most talent BH has ever had and you’re going to finish 4th, screw who the coaching is. Prieto had us in the second round in a shootout with the regional finalist at the end of his first season. Unless you feel like you can go to the state finals next year your point is moot anyway. Good luck to y’all too. I think BH is the only team besides Crosby that would have a chance against FBM.
  13. If BH would’ve beaten Crosby your season wouldn’t have exceeded expectations, you would’ve still lost those other games and finished third which is right about where TW averaged. In a transition year you should trend upwards, the high point in BH’s season was in September. I agree with all that other stuff you said, I personally think we’re too soft on the player critiques at times. As far as the optimism down the road though IDK? Yeah, y’all are going to have Herndon and Dixon for the next couple of years but BH doesn’t have any skill players close to that until all the way down in 7th grade and the best one is going to be 5’6” when he’s in high school. Y’all have some studs sprinkled through a few classes but after this senior class graduates y’all don’t have near the talent 7th-11th that you did these past four years. That was a solid run of Cauthen, Kapoua, Holdren, not to mention have Hagler as a three year starter. I’m just saying that Abseck could do just a good a or maybe even better than TW and end up with the same record.
  14. One thing about our kids is that they always believe thy can beat you. Crosby probably has only two or three personal fouls the entire year. As far as turnovers we got our 20th takeaway last night, our starters have probably only turned it over 4 or 5 times on the season themselves. One of the reasons Crosby is having success is because we’re already pretty good at that stuff you listed.
  15. We had a down year in ‘18, missed the playoffs for the only time in the last 17 years. Went .500 in ‘19. Long as we’re healthy and stay out of financial trouble this the “un-down year” times. Doesn’t matter if we get moved up, Manvel and Cedar Park would be the only perennial powers left in the region to compete with.
  16. Hopefully we don’t have to make you wait longer than December 18th
  17. You’re welcome. We did keep it classy. Ned’s whole team stood on their logo and didn’t move for the team handshake after the game. We were going to dance on it but decided not to. Instead we just jumped around with the trophy on side of y’all while Barrow tried to explain to the team why they finished 6th.
  18. I think Dunn being hurt was a big part big go look at some of those drops we had at the beginning of the game. We felt like Chris Marshall was handling us because we weren’t scoring. It was 14-9 at the end of the 3rd quarter when he got ejected, we probably should’ve had 23 points at that time. When Marshall got ejected and they started going to #3 their offense got harder to stop. Marshall can get his but I don’t think Banks is good enough to beat us from the pocket. He’s Jamar Sanders with more speed but a worse arm. If we can manage those three interior o-linemen and not let Banks run wild then we should be good.
  19. Good job, y’all didn’t get blown out. Crosby’s poor offensive execution at the beginning of the game and Ned playing not to get blown out allowed your fans to be ecstatic for a half. Crosby came out, scored 21 straight and the game was over. Crosby wins at Barbers Hill, at PNG and at Nederland while blowing the doors off everybody we play in The Jungle. We beat the 2nd and 3rd place teams by a combined 70. Congrats on Ned’s 6th place squad playing with a bunch of heart and keeping it interesting for a while their last time in Bulldog Stadium. At least you’re not mistaking it for being average like you did last year.
  20. I agree our defense was a beast against what they did last year, but we were more size than speed in the front seven. This year it’s flipped and I think that’s a good thing for FBM’s qb run-first offense. I was rewatching the playoff run the other night and noticed we didn’t have a very good day offensively against FBM execution wise. I think this offense is set up a lot better to move the ball against them which is a matchup plus, last year we played the whole first half of the game on our side of the field.
  21. Man, definitely wanted to avoid this one. PAM could’ve beaten Angleton in a tough defensive game because they’re offense isn’t that good. FBH can play defense AND score though. Turnovers and penalties can always play a role in outcomes but just playing straight up, FBH is a more complete football team than PAM is. I would probably have it FBH -13.5, that’s a rough loss to Friendswood.
  22. He said the same thing last year. Actually he said we would lose in the second round. Then every round after that. We he’s failing to resize is that we match up a lot better this year with FBM than we did last year.
  23. This is the 5th time since 2014 that Crosby has come into the last game of district play undefeated. This makes the 4th time we failed to bring the A-game to close the show. Fortunately Crosby is good enough this year that our B-game can beat most. Made us out healthy so that’s the biggest victory of the night. Great job tonight by Nederland’s 22 seniors, I believe? I say it all the time, more than any team Crosby plays on a regular basis Nederland is the team that gives Crosby the most fits. They did so tonight and I honestly didn’t expect anything less. I’m actually glad they made Crosby take it off cruise control.
  24. Plus I already see eight opt-ups to 5A-D1 which should push it even higher than it would go naturally. Looks like we're in prime stalking position for the next couple of years.
