  1. Yep, he's one of the two freshmen road graders I was talking about them moving up. Looks like the staff is going to have AJ clogging up the middle for the next three years though. Very rarely do you see a 330+ pound kid with that kind of agility, especially at 14. Kid just looks the part. #66 Herd was the other freshman road grader, I don't think the boy's jersey goes below his chest? He has to be every bit of 350lbs and is still athletic enough to pull from his right guard position. Kid looks like a solar eclipse coming down the line of scrimmage. The freshman linebacker #42 Windfont was all over the field last night. He's already 6-2/210lbs so I fully expect him to be wreaking havoc in backfields the next three years. His closing speed is ridiculous. All four of the freshmen looked awesome last night.
  2. Half the twos were in on the TD they scored in the first half. All those points they scored in the second half were against twos, threes and fours, which I didn't even know we had. I believe every senior on the team got some clock in their last game in The Jungle. I would imagine 50 kids saw the field last night. FB Marshall had Madison by 42 at the half last week and Crosby had them by 45 at the half last night. At that point the game was over and we were trying to get out healthy, Eudy had already replaced Myles in the second quarter.
  3. 51-6 Crosby at the half
  4. Man, one of these recruiting insiders would probably pay you a pretty penny for the answer to that. IDK but my theory is that if it was an injury you probably announce it? I think Coach Williams is like Coach Kay in the sense that he knows he’s dealing with a few more situations than most coaches so he would do a kid a solid and just keep it internal if it’s disciplinary. Remember Evans was suspended the first game or two of his senior year and unless you followed them you wouldn’t have really noticed. Problem was that one of those games was Katy and everybody noticed, especially when they lost. Never heard a word about the reason or anything from Coach Kay though, even when he suspended him again for the state championship game.
  5. If I'm Abseck I run Holdren and Hagler at least 40 times combined to help shorten the game. I'm going to take a few shots to Herndon and Dixon but but outside of that I'm not throwing any of those slow developing deep routes against that pass rush and put myself behind the sticks nullifying the run game. Not to mention throwing incompletions that stop the clock and extend the game. They play man coverage and will never get out of it meaning they're very susceptible to getting beat back to the inside if you have personnel capable of doing so and a coach that calls it at optimal times. Them being so qb-centric this year is the reason I've been saying they aren't as dynamic as last year. BH has struggled on defense all year but I'm not sure that if you load up against Banks that he can beat you from the pocket, especially without Marshall making circus catches on poorly throw balls.
  6. Look for Crosby to play 4 or possibly 5 freshmen tonight. We've played two the last two games but I know one of the road graders will be up playing on the nose tonight. I'm hoping we let the other one get some spin at probably one of the guard positions. Not real sure about the 5th freshman but I know he'll be suited out and ready to help end some dreams if called on. You're probably looking at a combination of 16+ freshman and sophomores getting some clock tonight.
  7. Looks like only 4 started against Crosby. They had outscored their opponents 626-62 prior to playing Crosby so I would imagine those sophomore played a whole lot just like they did this year.
  8. Y'all are 5-5 with the one of the highest paid coaches in the state and your most talented team in quite a while. The last two week y'all don't even look like you've been prepared to compete. If your coaches can't handle negative comments then y'all probably need some new ones. You don't need to have a horse in the race to understand what you're seeing isn't trending in the right direction. You're telling me after all the years of Crosby football I've watched and research I've done on the team that I can't comment if I don't have a son out there? Come on man. What is the difficult situation, the coach getting there late? We didn't really have a coach until May when we hired Prieto in '19 so we didn't have a true offsesaon outside of weights and conditioning. Same situation BH was in making a June hire since you can't practice until August anyway. Maybe you do know more about the kids psyche but if you think going out a throwing up a 7 point effort with everything on the line is "fighting their tails off" then you are probably biased in what you were looking at. Maybe your son catches more balls this week, I noticed you didn't comment until he brought up the drops by the receivers.
  9. I only counted 11 sophomores on FB Marshall's entire roster last year and all of them didn't start. They also graduated 18 seniors and only returned 12 starters from last year's team. All the sophomores couldn't have started because they have multiple seniors on the team who started last year and have D1 offers. The best players on their team last year were the receiver Matthews who graduated, the linebacker Seymour who graduated and Chris Marshall who looks like he's off the team or injured. Preseason write-up from the Fort Bend Herald: [Hidden Content]
  10. That means the east Texas district would go back to region two but we would pick up that Austin area district with Liberty Hill.
  11. They probably won't score on our starters. I was watching that FBM vs Madison game from last week and it was 42-0 at the half. Unless you have Manvel-type personnel you're not going to run the ball effectively against us without being a threat to pass. I don't think they'll even rush for 100 total yards tonight.
  12. Smh, I guess the Eagles said "To heck with the playoffs, if we're going to finish 4th we might as well lace the Jordan's up"? Y'all need to put the purse down because there's no doubt you'll get your arse whipped with that mentality. Y'all don't have any faith that Abseck and company can get y'all together for one night? Let's run through the football part of it though. I watched the FBM vs Madison game last night for my own research purposes and came away with the opinion that BH isn't near the underdog they look like on paper. For one, even though it's an away game BH will have more fans than FBM which helps mitigate some of the homefield advantage. Two, I noticed Chris Marshall didn't play and doesn't look like he registered a statistic since the FB Willowridge game. If he doesn't line up for them Friday that offense isn't nearly as dynamic. They do have another big receiver that's committed to ULL but he isn't the game-breaker Marshall is. Marshall killed Crosby last year but their offense got more efficient when he got ejected because of that Matthews kid who ended up with 14 catches against us. He's gone too. Three, defensively they can be scored on. One thing that always jumps out when you play the M-block is overwhelming speed, which is no different this year but outside of the d-line they're pretty small on that side of the ball. Dixon and Herndon should be able take advantage of the matchups on the outside if given opportunities. The FBM team from last year would've dump-trucked BH like they did Nederland but I could make a very good argument that BH is the best team on FBM's schedule to date. Unless BH comes out and lays completely down I'm not seeing a blowout in this one.
  13. Our snapshot number was only 6 above the current cutoff which usually moves substantially every realignment. Throw in the opt-ups which will push the number even higher and I think there's very little chance Crosby moves up to D1.
  14. I said Atascocita would beat them, not really poo-pooing them by sayin they would lose to another top 10 team. I said that before Gavin Sessions got hurt. 'Cita went into North Shore and did lose by 10 points but had the ball twice inside the NS 20 late in the game and got 0 points. Sessions is punching that in twice. When 'Cita's sophomore backup would actually stand there and deliver the ball they were striping NS. He threw for 268 and 2tds with 0 picks, Sessions probably throws for 350 yards and 4tds if he plays. They had no chance to cover Chase Sowell without Denver Harris on the field but the backup couldn't consistently put it on him unless he was wide open. As far as us sweeping 9-5A: Crosby vs Ball - blowout TC vs BU - blowout PAM vs PNG - shootout Friendswood vs BH - Friendswood didn't drop over 28 on anybody on their entire schedule besides GCM and Ball. I'll make the assumption BH plays well and wins that one. All they would need is 31 points. Not that it even really matters but IJS, we would have a lot better chance sweeping y'all than the inverse.
  15. Lol, a 14 point loss in a very winnable game is getting the fool beat out of you now? Angleton made the playoffs and Crosby would ran though them like we toilet paper like we did the previous times we played them. They didn't stop our starters one time when we lined up earlier this year. I remember you saying similar crap about Crosby only being able to beat schools east of the Trinity. Now that we cleaned out the southern half of the state it's "y'all can't beat Manvel consistently and these other teams would probably beat you too", lol. In actuality Manvel is the only team currently in 5A in the entire Houston area that has a winning record against Crosby the last 20 years. Everything else you're saying is pure speculation and you've already been wrong about it multiple times.
  16. Lol, so your whole argument is that Crosby can’t consistently beat Manvel? Only other team we’ve ever played from that district was Angleton who we donkey-stomped 38-15 and 34-0 in our two contest. Most of your district is already HISD caliber so I doubt y’all would be 15-1 against them. Y’all might get swept if you had to play out district too.
  17. When you play the good teams in the playoffs outside of Crosby, BH is the only one that can match up with the TH, Montgomery and Consols. of the region. Sometimes we get confused by what we think we're seeing. TC isn't even good and somehow finished second in this district? PNG backs into the playoffs with a third place finish because KP beat Nederland. Take Santa Fe off the schedule and PNG is giving up 44ppg over their last seven contest and is 3-4. BH, TC and PNG are pretty much all the same as far as team strength. However, BH's personnel matches up better on any given night than what TC and PNG put on the field this year. That's why they're the only team Crosby had trouble with this year.
  18. That line of thinking has been there since football was created. The issue is that now there are multiple platforms for parents to air those grievances. You give a parent a place to rant and all of a sudden their personal opinion becomes a theory after two or three more parents, who may have never given much thought to the issue, latch on and agree with them. Now one parent's opinion has turned into 20 people talking about it in the stands. Parent's opinions are the absolute last thing that should have an influence on personnel which is why I've never talked to any of the school Crosby my three sons have played for to date. Hell, I ran our coach down and he still put my son on varsity after breaking his leg and missing his whole freshman year. That being said, I don't think you put your kid in that situation by airing that here but if there's even an inkling of truth to what he's saying then he's probably not going to get very far with a 1on1 meeting with the coach. My personal opinion on the situation is right in line with yours though. I don't believe a coach would take food out of his family's mouths and get fired by not playing kids who could help him win, but I also don't believe every parent who has this issue is making a false accusation either.
  19. That would make their district 1-15 the last four years in the playoffs. I would imagine Friendswood moves over to 10-5A-D1 when Hightower and Paetow move up which should help 9-5A-D1's record.
  20. Lol, you’re just going to take whole neighborhood out of our attendance zone? If we would be average without Barrett Station then we would really be bad if you took away Newport, where 70% of those kids you think live in Barrett actually stay. If you took away the Indian Shores and Lake Shadows neighborhoods we would be less talented. Pretty duh statement to say “If Crosby had less enrollment they wouldn’t be as good”🙄
  21. Vidor is the perennial underdog I cheer for, therefore I’ve come to like them. A few weeks ago Vidor supporters were complaining that they weren’t ranked after the body of work they had put in to date. I commented in that DCTF rankings thread that they shouldn’t be worried about the rankings and instead focus on how they’re going to matchup with the east Texas district at the line of scrimmage in the first and potentially third rounds. Well, here we are. Vidor is in a situation where a bi-district win probably gets you three playoff games. Riordan was 2-0 against the slot-t at Crosby and has some horses up there at TCH. I’m cheering for both teams in this one albeit for different reasons, good luck to the Pirates.
  22. We wouldn’t have gotten embarrassed. It wasn’t embarrassing to lose to Nederland at home last year. We would’ve gotten beaten by a team from the strongest district in the region. BH has the second best talent of this district, full stop. The fact that they play like garbage at times is an entirely different issue than what their projection is on any given night. PNG is just that pretty girl that’s easy to score on.
  23. Mark it down. BH is going to play FBM the same way they did Crosby, they know it won’t matter if the lose because they’re supposed to anyway. That’s the most dangerous team a team that’s supposed to win can play. BH matches up relatively well all the way across the board with FBM except for their o-line against BH’s d-line. If anyone in this district besides Crosby can beat FBM it’s BH. BH gets them in prime picking position coming out of that weak district schedule. *BTW BHFan, that’s my analysis and FBM is all black. I’ve come to expect that crap you said in the other thread from SS but I viewed you as a real football guy and that was my real football analysis. You accuse me of all that bs bit can’t point to one time I said BH wasn’t going to be, shouldn’t be or wasn’t the 2nd best team in the district? All freaking year bro, that’s even after y’all made me look dumb and looked suspect in half the games you played this year. You’re the one that’s surprised about the super sophs., I’ve been watching them play since they were 12. I’ve seen Dixon beat my son for the 200M district title, I was there when Fuentes won the the hurdle title and know full well what type of athletes BH has in the pipe. I also know all those stud sophomore football players are even better basketball players because my buddy coached them all. Good luck to y’all too but that real Busch League on your part bro.
  24. The ONLY reason PNG is in the playoffs and didn’t finish 5th is because KP beat Ned. PNG would’ve been out in a three way tie-breaker. What are you talking about you were underestimated, you played exactly how you were predicted? The only position group on the entire field PNG is better than Ned at is QB and maybe you can say RB depending where Fuselier plays. PNG gave up 44.3ppg in district play to everybody not named Santa Fe. What exactly am I supposed to be checking?
  25. Never asked you to have faith in them. If BH plays to the top of their ability they’re the second best team in the district which is why I picked them second to start the year. They’re 4th because of inconsistency. TC is a joke of a second place finisher in this district. They’re a defensive team that isn’t that great on defense and they play offense at a JV level. The other teams were just so suspect that they were able to go 6-1 because they have good athletes. Texas High will beat TC 35-14 in the second round and TC’s offense will never be a threat. Any offense with a pulse can score 40+ on PNG. If y’all can get past GP’s slot-t then you get Montgomery and their stud rb, if he doesn’t run for 250 yards and 4tds on PNG I will be surprised. Outside of Santa Fe look how many points PNG allowed in district play, yet they finished 3rd and weren’t even as good as last year when they finished 4th.
