  1. I think you got the who’s in who’s head stuff backwards. Saying a guy got out-coached is a “personal attack” now? As far as Abseck I think he’s probably a great coach, I think TW is a great coach too. No doubt Gage is solid. Former two coaches struggled though. I don’t think it’s unfair to point out that he’s in the same boat until he’s not. I felt the same way in the beginning about coach Prieto who came to Crosby in a similar situation. The record was one thing but we were struggling doing basic varsity stuff like lining up properly. After watching the level we executed at under Riordan that was tough. By the end of his first season Crosby was pretty good. We were good by our second game under Riordan. The ribbing I do with the BH fans about their coaching is simply because that’s their big feather, kind of like PNG used to be with their quarterback’s passing stats.
  2. Probably won't happen but there's a chance you could have two of the top ten teams in 5A-D2 move down to 4A-D1 in Fort Bend Marshall and South Oak Cliff.
  3. You're right. I doubt we could beat PNG if our coaching staff regressed to the level of BH's.
  4. He absolutely is. Some of them think that living in the same house in the same type neighborhood but having to pay $100k+ more for it is a badge of honor. Kind of how they feel about paying way more for championship coaches to come finish third or miss the playoffs all together.
  5. I think PNG is going to score around 28 points and I think Prieto kind of likes BF, meaning he would probably get off the gas around 60. I know you're being facetious but I'll give PNG some credit and say the only way we win by 61 is if we shut them out.
  6. As long as Davis Mills is under center Crosby would definitely have a shot
  7. Aki, would you mind clarifying who the west Trinity whiners are? I mean, Crosby and SC are/were the trashy posters on the site so it can't be us. Dayton just went 0-20 and didn't blame anybody but themselves so it's not them. New Caney doesn't take shots at anybody and North Shore is completely above the fray. I assume you were talking about one of the four schools that have attendance zones in Baytown? Just trying to clear things up for record keeping purposes?
  8. That’s probably because you wear thongs?
  9. ^ See above reply when you have no rebuttal😂
  10. Nah, they had a great night in a rivalry game. Did y’all play backups on the second half against Nederland, I’m assuming that’s the reason y’all lost to them? We’re y’all playing backups when you were down 17-0 to the second worst team in the district? Is that the reason KP scored their season high against y’all? Is playing backups the reason y’all beat the third worst team in the district by only 7 points? Asking for myself. Playing backups IS the reason we only scored 52 on Dayton, 67 on KP and 57 on TC though. You’re pointing to one game. Look at the other six on our schedule in comparison.
  11. Here’s an example of the Maxpreps district stats for 12-5A-D2. They aren’t accurate though because most of the Golden Triangle schools don’t enter theM for whatever reason. Chron.com used to keep the Houston area stats pretty accurately but their high school sports section has basically been taken over by Vype. Vype has pretty accurate stats for everybody in the area but IDK how to access them other than when they post them in articles? [Hidden Content]
  12. That’s it right there. The way the TC game was called offensively was beautiful. We never made any play-calls to their strengths until they were ready to be knocked out. All of a sudden the DC has us looking like we can cover people. Seems like we have kids making plays when they use half the offensive line to block Casey. Riordan had some crazy offenses and was the beneficiary of some ridiculous talent while he was here but at times it felt like if we couldn’t out-talent you then we couldn’t out-coach you either. Two games that really stick out were the 2015 Ridge Point game and the 2017 New Caney game. I think those are two games Prieto probably wins. Let’s not act like he doesn’t have some horses though. You can make an argument for Crosby having the best players at every position group in the district.
  13. He could’ve also thought they were capable of having a season like they did last year at NF? Their only two losses were to #1 Ennis and # 2 Aledo, they also beat Lone Star.
  14. They mentioned Vidor the other day on High School Scoreboard. I think they have those teams ranked in front of y'all because of being known commodities and tougher strengths of schedule. For instance, Anna is the sister school to Melissa and is pretty good this year but they're 5-3. All their loses have come in district play to #4 Melissa, #5 Argyle and #8 Kaufman. Vidor is playing a softer schedule and only has a 9.7ppg differential against it. If you're going to play that type of schedule then you need to be about 20ppg clear like #10 Calallen is performing right now.
  15. Yeah, we would've never gotten Riordan for $80k. Here is the 2017 article on the highest paid coaches and Riordan was at $120k which was underpaid for the single high school districts in our area at the level he was performing. It's normal in the Houston and Dallas areas for coordinators to be making $80k+. That pension number is probably like my company. My pension is based off a my base salary but what I have to report to the IRS is significantly more. [Hidden Content] I don't think they cut pay, they just cut personnel and didn't give raises for a year or so. Like I said, I think those numbers you're looking at are just some kind of base pay. If Prieto stays two or three more years he's probably going to be up around $140k but that's what you have to pay in these big metro areas to retain good coaches. Prieto might not even be in the top 25 in the Houston area right now and Crosby coaches are usually in the top 5-8, Riordan was the 7th highest paid coach in Texas when he left.
  16. What he's saying isn't true though. PNG might've played backups during the last drive or so of a couple of those games but when Crosby pulled the starters against Dayton and KP the combined score was 95-7. I believe it was something like 49-41 combined for PNG in those same games? I would also point to PNG giving up 38 to a Nederland offense that was shut out by TC, Crosby was up 50-13 after three quarters though.
  17. That's probably some kind of base salary. Prieto probably makes around $125k. Riordan was making right at $134k when he left three years ago. [Hidden Content]
  18. This post is a little misleading. Crosby didn't play backups late, they played them entire halves in two of those games while PNG played the starters the whole time. It was 49-0 at halftime against Dayton and the backups were coming in in the second quarter. Dayton probably only had 100 yards of offense at halftime, ALL their points and 70% of their yards came against backups. Against KP it was 46-7 at halftime, it was 60-7 after three quarters. We played backups the whole second half. Again, 6 points and about 70% of their yards came in the second half against backups. All the points PNG gave up came against their starters. BH is the only legit comparison on here. What he didn't highlight was that PNG is +37 in those three games and Crosby is +92. That's a pretty big gap, especially considering if Crosby would've played their starters as long as PNG had to in the Dayton and KP games they probably score in the 90's against both of them.
  19. Well, luckily the only time the defense from the BH game showed up is against BH. Defense really just played two bad quarters in that game though, they held them to 13 points in the second half. The defensive starters for Crosby are probably only allowing somewhere around 20ppg. I agree keeping Myles upright is a must. As for the game the only reason I think it might not be a blowout is because it's on the Reservation. Otherwise I think the score would be worse than it was last year in Crosby. Being on the road in that type of environment against a team playing with house money is a dangerous situation but luckily we had the BH adversity to prepare. PNG gets down 17 points to us like they did to KP, Reservation or not, that's probably checkmate.
  20. They are and I did, but Dayton decided they would go and Dayton the situation up. I had faith they could go in and at least execute at the level they showed the last couple of weeks but when you're still trying to find you way you're going to have the peaks and valleys like they still do. If anything is funny though it's the TC vs Crosby predictions coming from Nederland last week.
  21. Y'al are not going to hold BH to 12 points. Texas City scored more than that and their offense is very mediocre. BH's game doesn't seem to be able to travel past the Trinity and their coaching seems like it may have gotten worse, all things considered, but they are still clearly the better team talent-wise and I'm betting that will eventually show. Once you get on that personal foul train it's tough to stop it, I've seen it with Crosby, but with everything to play for I think BH scores 38-42 points and does just enough defensively to get the W.
  22. Never saw them hit one crossing route against a wide open middle, continually tried to force it deep all night when Hagler was averaging 14ypc. The way PNG was playing off and still bailing, IDK why Holdren didn't just take off and run for 20 yards on almost every one of those deep attempts he was forcing.
  23. Coach P probably made that by himself his first two years here. I believe his wife works for the district also so I would say we paid in the $375k range which is still a heck of a return when considering he has us on track to repeat last year's run.
  24. I watched the BH vs PNG film yesterday and how BH didn't score 60, IDK? Terrible game by their offensive coordinator. I tried to watch the KP vs PNG film to see how PNG compiled those yards but the defense was so bad by both teams I just turned it off sometime during the second quarter. Trahan had a great day against KP running the ball but I don't think he'll be much trouble for Crosby to stop. Didn't want to get a false sense of anything. PNG's defenders were literally running up to the KP players and even really trying to tackle them, just running up close to them and stopping. The defensive end "sets the edge" but lets the back run right by him on the zone read every time. PNG's db will be nowhere near the Crosby receivers on most plays, IDK what the goal is of that 4-2-5 they run with limited d-line and linebacker personnel?
  25. Well, you could've told them how you really feel? To be fair though, they have purchased two district championships. One in '11 under Gage and one in '19 under TW which helps bring down their average to $1.5M per title.
