  1. Everybody is always talking about how they want to play in a tough district so that they’re battle tested for the playoffs . . . Until they’re actually in one. Now you have a team ranked 7th in the state at the midway point in the season in danger of finishing in 4th place with a couple losses, which probably includes a first round exit against FBM, or possibly missing the playoffs all together. Nederland is probably for sure in in at least the three spot but these are possibilities. Kind of have to tip the cap to the district this year. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Dayton ruin someone’s year.
  2. Nah, we’ll leave y’all alone. Y’all went borderline Vidor on us though. We’ve lost plenty heartbreakers so I know it sucks. One thing I would point out to the BH faithful that some of us other fan bases have figured out though; if y’all think you’re good then act like you’re good. Meaning when you lose games it’s because YOU lost, not I because the other teams should have. When Crosby started to get good again I had about a 4/5 year struggle with this until I saw us lose to Manor in 2012 with the Twins. Then I had an epiphany and the collapse the next year against Elgin was easier to understand. I’m hoping we get that regional final matchup at Stallworth we never got with Dayton. All y’all have to do is play like y’all did Friday night for the rest of the season.
  3. I can verify that two BH fans in my department did not show up for work today. They may or may not have been scheduled off days but I’m rolling with the optics on this one. First person in the office this morning was a Baytown Sterling fan explaining to me why we should’ve lost. Instead of engaging I took the low road and said, “Man, it must suck to have to watch us while your team plays.” I left it at that though, vender had dropped off ALL the breakfast tacos in his office.
  4. Lol, I bet we win by more than 14 points and won't have to put the starters back in to finish them off. This should be a nice prep game for TC who comes to town in two weeks.
  5. It doesn't matter if you were running it at that particular time, it was early enough in the game that Crosby still had to play the pass. When BH had to run it to seal the game, which they could've done on two different occasions, they couldn't and lost because of it. BH knew Crosby was throwing on basically every play at the end of the game and Kirkwood still abused BH's entire secondary on our last three drives. One team won because of it and one team is one here talking about their offensive stat lines after giving up 53 in a loss on their home field.
  6. BH got the ball twice in the third and scored 13 points, fumbled and punted on their drives in the 4th quarter. Crosby still had to play the pass earlier in the half and that allowed BH some success in the run game in the third quarter, they didn't have much success running it in the 4th when Crosby knew they were trying to run the clock though. I'm not advocating you run the ball, I'm advocating you score and put the game away. I can show you where Holdren looked 81's way and pulled it down more than once in the second half and scrambled which was really BH's best plays all night. Maybe your coach doesn't understand yet that 15 points isn't a big enough lead on Crosby, he's not playing Leander anymore.
  7. It won't let me post mine, says the file it too big. You have a still, I have multiple clips.
  8. I'm not sure the loser of the TC vs Nederland game gets in? I can see a scenario this year where we have three two loss teams or maybe even two three loss teams.
  9. Again, this was your typical "Crosby is average" or "Crosby isn't that good" game because somebody beats us or almost does. After Crosby has these games they usually start hammering people while the other team usually goes back to playing they way they were. We'll see what happens here? It's a different story when you get every team's best shot every week vs just having to muster it up once to play a big game. Proud of our kids for finishing they way they did.
  10. I can show you clips of #70 holding #45 for us all night long. Every time he got beat he hooked him around the shoulder and only got called maybe once. You're talking about a front row seat but I have the actual cut-ups from the game. Two of Holdren runs where he escapes pressure they're holding Casey and it isn't called. Last thing anybody should be talking from BH is the officiating, we were getting screwed ALL night. Side judge on the BH side was absolutely awful as were the rest of the officials.
  11. They didn't throw it to him because he wasn't open. Holdren ended up getting blasted on the last play of the game on overtime trying to hold it and look for him. Problem with running it down Crosby throat was that it's not the way BH got the lead. BH scored 33 points in the first half being aggressive throwing the ball, running it in the second half only scored y'all 13 and never put the game away. Matter of fact it caused you a fumble on the second to last drive in regulation and when Crosby knew you were going to run it on your last drive in regulation y'all couldn't. Had Kirkwood's td not been called back on the phantom hold 10 yards behind the play it never even goes to OT. Y'al were tied with PAM late and lost by 28, y'all were up 15 points on Crosby with 4 mins left and collapsed. There's at theme there.
  12. Man, you had a completely different view than me then. Herndon was continually trying to block after the play and throwing cheap shots which is why you heard the Crosby side booing before the ref eventually threw the flag on the last drive. If we could post film I would show you every time he did it and wasn't called. Crazy part is that is the best stat line any BH player has ever had against Crosby the last 15 years and y'all still lost because he couldn't make a play in the second half.
  13. I don't see enough BH fans pointing this out. Also, Crosby ran their last play with :01 left on the clock. Even with the fumble and the collapse BH was having, Crosby probably runs out of time if BH had ran the play clock down further on their previous offensive snaps. QB should've been told that he doesn't snap it until it's under :03 on the playclock. Also, BH players gets hurt on the second to last play of the game allowing Crosby and official's time out. He has to be told to roll of the field so the ball can be spotted and the clock started, instead he laid there and allowed Crosby to take their time and get a play in from the sideline. BH had multiple opportunities to finish us and just couldn't.
  14. You should've seen how BH acted in Crosby in 2018 after finally winning one after losing 7 straight. Same was y'all acted after finally beating Dayton for the first time in like a decade. I can't remember the Dayton year, picture was on the front of the Chronicle sports section though. I really wouldn't call the Crosby staff trash when Coach P had to go to midfield to cuss out Abseck when a BH player tried to take out the knee of one of the Crosby kids after the play. Our player was hurt, the BH kids got a personal foul called on him and Abseck never told him anything which I sure is what Coach P was pointing out. Herdon was out there throwing multiple cheap shots and eventually got called for one on the drive Hagler ended up fumbling on. Definitely contributed to y'all losing the game, that wheel route probably goes for a TD without the additional 15 yards. This game was like the old Crosby vs Dayton games. Everybody understood before the game started that they were going to play up to and at times over the edge. I can't remember either team calling the other trash though, especially after it was BH coach's fault they lost the game.
  15. I kind of thought the AD part was obvious after highlighting that was the reason TW came? Most of these guys at successful programs in multi-school district are only leaving for the bigger paydays/more control that comes with the AD position in one school districts.
  16. They could make a lot of noise if Katy goes D1. 6A in region three is deep but they’re all D1 teams except Katy. I don’t think any of our D2 region three teams will be able to beat Westlake but I think CE King would have one of the better shots with their defense and run game.
  17. One thing you left out was new houses. CE King High has been for about the last 10 years and will continue to be a huge beneficiary of all the home building going on in their attendance zone. Sheldon ISD’s tax base is growing pretty quickly and it’s more well off than it was in the past. CE King High is probably going to have and enrollment over 3k in a couple of re-alignments, that’s crazy considering the fact they were just in a district with Crosby, BH, Dayton, etc. in 2015.
  18. If BH plays the way they did against Crosby they should win by 20+. If they play the way they did the first four games of the year it might be a lot closer. Does the close loss give The Hill confidence they can play at that level or does it create a hangover situation where they sleepwalk into The Reservation and get beat? I said before the BH vs Crosby game that I though that contest would determine how those teams played the last half of the season. This is game 1 of 5 to see if that was the true BH Friday night?
  19. Through the same two district games last year Crosby was averaging 29ppg, this year they’re averaging 52ppg. Carthage and Manvel are the only teams to keep us under 40. Crosby didn’t give up anything close to 46 points defensively in district play last year though.
  20. If BH really wants to prove a point then go play the rest of the games on your schedule at the same level you played Crosby, because y’all dang sure didn’t play any of the previous four like that. Show it’s just not one fluke game against a rival. In 2016 Dayton took Crosby to overtime but finished the season 4-6. They played at s district championship level, but only for that night. BH should obviously finish better than that but we’ll see what the effort looks like the rest of the year.
  21. Looks good to me, no matter how you feel. How do you feel about the other 51 points BH gave up though? What about Hagler fumbling with 4 mins to go up 15 with the ball in our half of the field. Y’all played absolutely perfect until Hagler put it on the ground and that was just enough for Crosby. Crosby got screwed by the refs all night, that was some Turner Stadium stuff going on in there. Just face it, y’all got in a big spot and collapsed.
  22. Dayton is getting closer to being “back”. They probably needed to win this one to get into the playoffs this year but what I will say is that they’re definitely not the easy out they have been in recent years. I think coach Ware has things going the right way over there.
  23. Crosby got hit in the mouth, staggered through the fight and won a controversial split decision. Sometimes it happens like that. I see a lot of talk about the two point conversion but BH also gave up 22 points on three consecutive Crosby drives to close the game. At the end of the day this was a QB battle. Holdren played the game of his life and Myles probably played his best game to date as a starter. Defense had nothing for Holdren all night but was still able to make enough plays to win. I know PAM beat BH but I still consider this a better win.
  24. Watching it on Texan Live in real time it looks like he’s in. I’m just trying to figure out why nobody is pointing to Hagler fumbling and then BH giving up two TD drives prior to that though? Line Jude on the BH side was horrible. Called back Kirkwood’s TD on a phantom hold. Definitely the worst officiated game I’ve see in quite some time at the varsity level.
