  1. After watching what the BH offense was able to do with their personnel I think if Crosby executes they shouldn’t have any issue scoring 40. PAM made a lot of bad fits in the run game last week, if Holdren was just a little faster and could make the edges BH probably runs for over 400 total yards. Liked what I saw from the secondary last week against the two SEC caliber receivers Manvel had so hopefully they can carry that over and cover long enough to let Casey and company do their thing up front.
  2. That’s what I’m saying, there is no time in the pocket because Casey collapses it. Manvel double teamed and still really didn’t have time to throw on straight dropbacks. Carthage threw the ball well against because they went off play-action a bunch and froze guys. The only really play-action I see PA run is when they’re in a two back set and fake the handoff to one back and throw underneath to the other. PAM couldn’t even block #54 from BH and the tackles had to hold almost every time #34 came on an edge rush. The majority of Sanders’ rushing yards came on one play where the BH d-line missed two tackles in the backfield first, Crosby is a little more athletic than that. The vast majority of PA’s offense against BH was drop straight back and try to let the receivers run past their dbs. We’ll see how that works this week.
  3. That’s what it was looking like. 83 of Sanders’ 156 was on that run at the end of the game. Seems like BH did ok defending the PAM run game but I also didn’t see PAM really hand it off to the backs that many times either.
  4. I stole the password to my son’s Hudl account. They have all the plays from the BH vs PAM game cut up on offense and defense for the players to study.
  5. IDK how many holding penalties PAM was called for against BH but it sure looks like they could’ve called a lot of them? Watching the PAM offense you can see the qb is an excellent runner and has a nice arm, has some nice receiver to throw to also. Judging from the film the BH d-line outplayed the PAM o-line for the most part though. Would’ve been interesting to see the outcome had BH had someone that could finish a pass rush. Does anybody have the total rushing yardage for PAM last week? I see the 95 yards td pass so I’m guess the qb threw for 400+? When sanders does get those deep balls off I think Crosby’s secondary is going to play them a lot better than BH did too.
  6. I think BH is better than what you were thinking. What I’m watching on film isn’t surprising me.
  7. Hagler had 164 yards on 29 carries. BH had 312 yards on 46 carries as a team, that’s with the sacks included of course. I’m sure Myles and Jones are salivating. I’m expecting our defense to have their best night yet and we’ve already had two very good ones.
  8. This will be an impressive win for PNG if they can pull this one off. Tomball probably won’t finish any higher than 4th in their district but they’re a decent D2-6A and are 2-0 averaging 46ppg. They’re coming off a shutout and only giving up 13.5ppg defensively. Not very good competition they’ve racked up those statistics against but it would still be an excellent win for PNG nonetheless. If I was a PNG fan I would gauge where my defense is more based on this game than the previous two.
  9. That the football staff just needed time to get it worked out. It was a legit answer then and maybe you feel it still is now, just asking your opinion? Y’all have regional final type talent but you’re finishing in 4th place behind Baytown schools.
  10. I think Manvel’s showing against Dickinson proved they’re as good as they’re projected to be. Dropped 42 last week on a squad that’s one of the better big 6As in the Houston area and only lost because of multiple mistakes in the kicking game. Katy Paetow is probably the only team left on their schedule that can stay within 20 points of them. They’ll need to tighten up the defense but I don’t see anybody stopping that run game before they get to Dallas.
  11. Maybe you have a different answer to the question I asked you a couple years ago about why the basketball team was ready but the football teams wasn’t? When y’all aren’t plays us I root for programs like y’all, PAM, North Shore , etc., because demographically good sports programs in general benefits your kids more than a place like BH, PNG or even Crosby. A very good argument can be made for BU having the most talent in the district this year and right now you can’t convince me y’all can finish any better than 4th place.
  12. Probably so, but I think y’all are getting some help from the offenses you’re playing too. For now it’s more impressive that PNG seems like they may be able to run the ball from the rb position this year.
  13. Man, I wish I could post these videos of the plays we missed. Play calling was superb last night if we just hit the open receivers. We were never going going to be able to hold up to that Manvel o-line all night, especially with a back like Demontre Seymour which we probably won’t see for the rest of the year. You would’ve been able to take a whole bunch of money from me if you bet me we were going to hold them to 28 offensive points though. They used their size and pounded the ball on us at will at times but the only real mistake we made was a bad run fit on which Seymour hits us for about 70 basically untouched. Their qb went untouched on a read-option keeper but we were at the point where we had to sell out on Seymour so it was what it was. Even with Crosby getting in their own way, if we don’t have middle school level execution on the fg attempt we probably go into the half with a 10-7 lead. I mean, we roll the snap back there and kick it into one of our own linemen and it bounces right into the hands of a Manvel defender. We haven’t done that the whole 4 years Helburg has been our kicker and we probably won’t again. OC dials up a double move on one play and perfectly timed wheel route Manvel busts a coverage on on another play, they’re both wide arse open and we miss them both. Crosby is driving to tie it up before the half and Manvel gets us in like 3rd and 8. Manvel plays cover 1 man under and gets pressure off the left side with the Boston College commit, qb rolls right and had been effective running so the corner comes off the WR early leaving him WIDE open for a td and we don’t even see him. We’re going to make that play. At the end of the day we’ve just played Carthage and Manvel and the defense is giving up 24ppg. We’ve given up 14 points on special teams which I know for a fact will get fixed. Offense isn’t where you want it to be but it does feel like we’re on the verge. I thought it was a lot more likely that we would be 0-2 than 2-0 at this point in the season but I feel a heck of a lot better than I thought I would.
  14. PNG is averaging 17.5ppg and is 2-0. That’s UFO level stuff right there.
  15. Yes, he’s #40. Manvel had a double team on him almost all night and basically neutralized him. Still made a few plays but their scheme against him is why they probably ran for 300 yards on us. Considering the personnel on the field I thought there was very high level play in the trenches from both sides.
  16. I think the ”unmade play” by Womack at the end of the game which would’ve made it 35-28 and gave us a chance at the onside was pure fatigue. He had another one on earlier on that drive he usually makes too. Very hard to ask anything more of him or Kirwood either considering the level they were playing at tonight. One thing we were talking about in my section was how much attention they had to give Casey to slow him down even with the caliber linemen Manvel has. Kid is absolute truth.
  17. No reason for Crosby not to be 2-0 right now. We have to get what’s there WHEN it’s there. Good thing is we played better than last week. Again though, we lose a very winnable game.
  18. Well, bad snap on the fg attempt probably cost us a lead at the half. Let’s see how we respond. Offense has got to help the defense out.
  19. We’re running the ball effectively enough that Manvel can’t lay off the play-action, we just can’t hit a freaking throw. Would be ashamed to let these boys off the hook tonight, smh.
  20. I’m cool with the decision making tonight. He hasn’t made a questionable one besides not throwing it away once and getting us in 2nd and long. He’s rushed throws to two wide open receivers and didn’t even see Smith(#2) wide open down the sideline for what would’ve been another td. Manvel is blowing all types of coverages and we’re not taking advantage.
  21. Smh, oddly it’s the Crosby pass defense looking great tonight.
  22. Cryrin has to make the plays that are there, plain and simple. If he does we’re up at least 21-7 right now.
  23. Crosby gives up 7 freaking offensive points to Manvel in the first half and is again losing because of a special teams td given up. Meanwhile we miss three wide open tds. Defense flat out balling right now. Offense still looks like we’re playing Carthage, smh.
  24. Ridge Point is better than Manvel on a normal basis but will probably be a lot better than Manvel this year. Unless Katy goes D1, RP will probably be 12-0 when they get the North Shore vs Atascocita loser in the third round. Crosby was 11-0 and ranked #2 in the state when we got RP in the area round and got demolished.
  25. Conroe High is a school with a lot of pride that has been bad for a long time. They just hired Cedric Hardeman a couple of years ago though. They're the 9th largest school in Texas in terms of enrollment. Last year they went 0-5 in district play but four of those losses were by a combined 9 points. We'll have to wait a couple more weeks to see if they can keep it up but I really like the job CH is doing over there right now. Hardeman is nowhere near the coach Reginald Samples is yet but you can't help but to see the similarities in their current jobs. Duncanville is the 5th largest school in the state but had been pretty bad since they won their state title 20 years ago. All the talent was still there, they just need some coaching. There is still a truckload of talent in Conroe too, so it wouldn't surprise me to see him build a very formidable program up up there on the far north side of town. Conroe ISD pays so well that I doubt you would have to worry about losing him to one of the Klein schools in the neighboring district either.
