It’s because of the district they play in. Their most notable win this week was Lee beating Lumberton by one point. I think they’re in play for one of the last two spots.

Week 3 Port Arthur Memorial 26 Crosby 41/FINAL

Lol, bro y’all were an opening kick return off a house rule. I know you had all that s*** you planned on talking lined up at 13-0 six minutes into the the first quarter too, huh. Then y’all got your behinds whipped 41-13 the rest of the game. I agree, Crosby definitely has some stuff to clean up because we could’ve beat y’all worse had we made more of the plays that were there. If you think one lineman being out is the reason PAM lost then you probably can’t figure out why y’all are losing to 4th place teams in bi-district either. -

After watching the film of BH vs PAM, in the prediction thread I said that PAM’s o-line struggled to block #54 1v1 and had an issue with #34 coming on the wide edge rushes. To PA’s credit they just put two on Casey from the opening whistle and kind of neutralized him even though I still think he had a couple sacks and tfls. As the game went on though you could see doubling Casey was exposing more of the issues BH couldn’t. I feel comfortable saying no QB in SETX not named Sanders or Anderson could’ve avoided being sacked 15+ times tonight with the way Crosby got pressure combined with the slow developing deep routes the PAM OC seems to want to lean on. One PAM fan had it right when they said we couldn’t stay with their receivers. I don’t remember PA completing a single deep ball to one of their receivers in man coverage but every time we missed an open field tackle against one it was a house call. This was my first time getting to see PAM in person. Someone from Crosby said they’re like FB Marshall which is a very good comparison at the skill positions but FB Marshall is a lot better at the line of scrimmage, on both sides of the ball. If PA got that fixed they would be three or four rounds deep every year. -

Dayton out here whipping people like Crosby needs two weeks to prepare for them. Glad we got it and congrats to a fan base that really deserves one to go their way. -

I’ll go hunting but you’re probably pretty close. I would probably only give PAM 40 total rushing yards. Crosby front probably had 10 sacks tonight. -

Crazy part is that Crosby’s staff would probably beat us by with 20 with PAM’s players. I think what you saw tonight is the difference between Crosby getting to play/schedule a bunch of teams like PAM and knowing how to win when you’re outmanned vs PAM who doesn’t schedule a bunch of teams like Crosby and has trouble finding a second act when you can’t purely out-athlete the other team. PAM isn’t that far behind Manvel talent wise but they’re a ways off on the sideline. -

Crosby defense holds PAM to a hot 6 points in the second half. -

There’s that 40+ I mentioned in the prediction thread. Man, had we been able to execute in the kicking game this is probably over. Now we’ll see if we can hang on. -

Like I said, get it to Kirkwood and make the PA dbs make plays. -

That’s why you throw it off play-action and get some easy ones. PA is having to dedicate bodies to the run game and the middle is wide open every time. -

Kirkwood had Gilbeau beat for a td on a double move Myles overthrew too. PA ain’t coming out of man coverage no matter what, I’m going to Kirkwood in the second half and see what the PA dbs are about. -

For the third game in a row Crosby gives up a special teams td. Special teams killing us in general this season. Defense playing pretty well considering the personnel PA has on the field. Like the way other defenders in the front are stepping up with the attention they’re giving Casey. -

Lol, our only weakness is playing two teams better than PAM. Like I said, we’ll find out Friday though. -

Yeah, we fixed the could’ve would’ve last year and played for a state championship. Y’all don’t have Surratt on the sideline and you don’t have 13 FBS recruits either so we’ll see how it works out for you. -

Carthage and Manvel both scored 7 offensive points against Crosby in the first half. Tells me the staff is going to have us ready to play Friday too. You say the defense is strong but BH had 450+ yards of offense and could’ve easily gotten to 40+ points had their personnel been able to make a few more plays. I’m not expecting it to look like our third game of the season last year where the offense finally got going and dropped 55 on Montgomery after losing the first two and pretty much scoring the same amount of points as we have so far this year. I am expecting us to execute the best we have so far on that side of the ball though. If I could post the clips you would see how we missed three WIDE OPEN tds and could’ve had 42 on Manvel with just basic execution. -

After watching what the BH offense was able to do with their personnel I think if Crosby executes they shouldn’t have any issue scoring 40. PAM made a lot of bad fits in the run game last week, if Holdren was just a little faster and could make the edges BH probably runs for over 400 total yards. Liked what I saw from the secondary last week against the two SEC caliber receivers Manvel had so hopefully they can carry that over and cover long enough to let Casey and company do their thing up front. -

That’s what I’m saying, there is no time in the pocket because Casey collapses it. Manvel double teamed and still really didn’t have time to throw on straight dropbacks. Carthage threw the ball well against because they went off play-action a bunch and froze guys. The only really play-action I see PA run is when they’re in a two back set and fake the handoff to one back and throw underneath to the other. PAM couldn’t even block #54 from BH and the tackles had to hold almost every time #34 came on an edge rush. The majority of Sanders’ rushing yards came on one play where the BH d-line missed two tackles in the backfield first, Crosby is a little more athletic than that. The vast majority of PA’s offense against BH was drop straight back and try to let the receivers run past their dbs. We’ll see how that works this week. -

That’s what it was looking like. 83 of Sanders’ 156 was on that run at the end of the game. Seems like BH did ok defending the PAM run game but I also didn’t see PAM really hand it off to the backs that many times either. -

I stole the password to my son’s Hudl account. They have all the plays from the BH vs PAM game cut up on offense and defense for the players to study. -

IDK how many holding penalties PAM was called for against BH but it sure looks like they could’ve called a lot of them? Watching the PAM offense you can see the qb is an excellent runner and has a nice arm, has some nice receiver to throw to also. Judging from the film the BH d-line outplayed the PAM o-line for the most part though. Would’ve been interesting to see the outcome had BH had someone that could finish a pass rush. Does anybody have the total rushing yardage for PAM last week? I see the 95 yards td pass so I’m guess the qb threw for 400+? When sanders does get those deep balls off I think Crosby’s secondary is going to play them a lot better than BH did too. -

I think BH is better than what you were thinking. What I’m watching on film isn’t surprising me. -

Hagler had 164 yards on 29 carries. BH had 312 yards on 46 carries as a team, that’s with the sacks included of course. I’m sure Myles and Jones are salivating. I’m expecting our defense to have their best night yet and we’ve already had two very good ones. -

This will be an impressive win for PNG if they can pull this one off. Tomball probably won’t finish any higher than 4th in their district but they’re a decent D2-6A and are 2-0 averaging 46ppg. They’re coming off a shutout and only giving up 13.5ppg defensively. Not very good competition they’ve racked up those statistics against but it would still be an excellent win for PNG nonetheless. If I was a PNG fan I would gauge where my defense is more based on this game than the previous two. -

That the football staff just needed time to get it worked out. It was a legit answer then and maybe you feel it still is now, just asking your opinion? Y’all have regional final type talent but you’re finishing in 4th place behind Baytown schools.
