  1. Why AAW, why man? I’ve set this up perfectly the whole week and you come blow it for me on the eve of the game🤦🏾‍♂️
  2. Not really. All four coaches that beat our state finals team last year won by more points than y'all just did. Much rather him watch Tim Buchanan who destroyed Crosby or Jon Kay ten minutes down the road where his cousins play in North Shore.
  3. He doesn't really care. Only cares about what goes on with his team in Crosby. I went D1 and had a bunch of teammates who were ballers that didn't live the game or research other teams. Kids now days have a lot more to do than sit around and read DC's you used to do back in the day. My older son couldn't have told you who Carthage was either. If the school is not close, if you don't watch the state games on tv or they have played them before, there are a bunch of young kids who don't know who a bunch of good teams are.
  4. Where did I say they don't care about losing guy? He's seen Crosby lose a lot of games by a heck of a lot more than three to a heck of lot better teams than y'all. He still doesn't think Carthage is anything special. Hell, watched us lose by more points to Nederland in district play last year with a state finals team. Y'all aren't anything we don't see multiple times a year. I think it says a lot about your team that you have to dwell on a 3 point win. If y'all are that good go tell Surratt to schedule Duncanville and see if you can keep it closer than 70-0.
  5. After Surratt and Manvel I think PAM will be a relief. Y'all need to take out BH first. Paetow was legit, and other than MAYBE qb you can't point to a position group on PAM's team that's better than what BH just saw against KP either. Especially at the line of scrimmage and the secondary even with Gilbeau. I think y'all should still win but probably only by a td.
  6. ESPN just showed the game. Paragon has done the actual high school scheduling for ESPN the last couple decades. True, someone at the actual network probably should always go verify but Paragon said they have dealt with teams that have sketchy information before and never been burned. If ESPN was truly aware of any issues I'm sure the producers would've come through Luginbill's earpiece and told him to shut up. School is only really a couple of years old so I doubt parents actually understood what was truly going on until Sunday.
  7. It's only a topic to people that won't be on the sideline Friday night. There's not a single coach or player that cares about what happened last week. Not saying they overlooked Carthage but before the season even started the kids were zeroed in on the Manvel game. I swear to God my son didn't even know who Carthage was. All he knew was that they were a 4A team. He asked me, "Why are we even playing them then?", and "Are they good?" He watched his big brother's squad beat Manvel and knows who they are and how big a deal it was to beat them though. I personally think we were ready to play but we came out and George Ranch-ed it like we did in the opener last year.
  8. That's why you don't drop down and play the game. That win means a lot to Carthage as you can see a week later. If Manvel beats us they won't even care by Saturday afternoon.
  9. Carthage didn't miss assignments on either of our tds. One we drove down the field with mostly Jones running the ball, he broke a couple of tackles and scored. The other was a screen where Kirkwood broke a tackle and just accelerated through the defense. If Crosby only averages 30ppg this year we might go 6-4 and really make y'alls win look worthless. Like I said, good win. I'm done with the Carthage talk, I'm sure y'all have a game this week too. We trying to get prepared for a hell of a lot tougher opponent than Carthage was this week.
  10. You’re right, it doesn’t. Appreciate it, I really hope we win too.
  11. IDK, unless y'all have 13 D1 kids I think we'll be ok. Just going off last week's film Manvel looks better than PAM at every position group on the field. QB is just making his first starts but if he continues to play like that he'll have multiple FBS offers just like most of the other Manvel qbs. Besides that, Manvel literally has power 5 recruits at every position group on the field. I only see one on PAM's team? Bowie may end up being one but doesn't have those caliber offers yet, the Manvel kids already do. Y'all also don't have a coach like Surratt that elevates the sum of your parts.
  12. For the Crosby fans looking for the positives. We can look back at the ‘18 game. We were huge underdogs and took out a very talented team: Josh Coltrin - QB signed with Tulane Garrison Johnson - RB signed with Syracuse. Donovan Eaglin - RB signed with Michigan State. Ladarius Owens - RB signed with Texas Southern(fastest RB I’ve seen Crosby on the field with besides Earnest Patterson from Brenham) Jalen Paxton - WR signed with Tulsa. Jalen Walthall - WR with multiple FBS offers but did not sign, maybe grades or decided to run track? Layden Robinson - OT signed with A&M. Kori Roberson - DE signed with Oklahoma. I can’t remember who the dbs were but I’m sure a couple of them went D1 also. Crosby beat them without having a single FBS signee that year. [Hidden Content]
  13. Highlights from the Dickinson vs Manvel game last week. Looks like special teams cost them in the kicking game. Gave up a td on a blocked kick return, gave up two points on a blocked XP attempt and missed a chip shot field goal at the end of the game to tie and send it to overtime: [Hidden Content]
  14. I agree with everything you said. Judging from the way Nederland and PNG were able to beat their 4A-D2 opponents you would probably have to say Crosby is projected to finish no better than third in the district right now.
  15. No, only the field goal was on the short field. Lol, you just said don’t say “if” and then said “if”. Y’all needed a kick return to win and we “may not have scored”. Lol, I got you though bro. Good win. We’ll see how well Crosby plays the rest of the year to see how good a team y’all actually beat.
  16. Yes. There were some other players who dressed Friday night but were also ineligible. They will be a go if necessary Friday night though.
  17. There's actually a video of him hitting from 60 in one of his workouts. I believe it was 47 yards he hit from easily earlier in the game. 35 yards would've been a chipshot for him. I commend coach for believing in what he had on the field though. Kid that dropped the open 4th down play is our best receiver and catches that ball 99/100 times. As long as everybody can stay upright I think you'll learn more about Crosby this week than you did last Thursday.
  18. NC shouldn't have any problem running away with this one. As much as they give Reescano the ball you're probably going to see him get over 200 yards on the ground. NC needs to make a run this year because they next few might start to get brutal. @Lightning/Eagle I was talking to one of Porter's coaches last week and he told me NCISD is going to open West Fork High in Kingwood with freshman only next year. Forgot to ask if the sophomores in the attendance zone would be required to go there too? I expect both Porter and NC to have 6A enrollments come October realignments numbers. I see the school is on the Porter side of 59 but it's so far south that it's directly west of KP's attendance zone. Is West Fork going to pull from just Porter or both NCISD high schools, and if it's going to pull from NC High where are the kids going to come from?
  19. This is what the biggest issue was. When he went down before the half we thought he pulled his hamstring or did something to his ankle. Didn't realize it was cramps until he started cramping more in the second half. I think Coach P saw that and ran a very generic offense to try to protect him and keep him from having to run. You could see Cyrin rushing throws because he couldn't avoid anybody. At that point I think Coach P still thought playing with a limping Myles was better than trying to play Smith. You're right though. Can't score 17 points in the first half after you force four turnovers. Especially when you have the ball and a chance to make that 24-0/20-0. You heard the majority of the fans in our section screaming to take the three at the end of the first half but we work at refineries and revisionist history is always more accurate.
  20. As far as the personnel Crosby will be lining up with, it's typical Manvel: Receiver: Andre Thompson - small, but extremely fast guy. Probably the next Jaylen Waddle/Jojo Earle type kid. Already holds SEC, ACC and PAC 12 offers after his freshman year. Isiah King plays on the outside and is your typical X, already hold multiple SEC and power 5 offers going into his junior year Linemen: OT Tevin Shaw goes about 6-5/285lbs and is committed to UH. Defensive tackle goes about 6-4/265 and is committed to Purdue. DE/Edge is 6-4/220 and committed to Boston College Defensive back: One safety is committed to Stanford and the other one is committed to Colorado State. I guess we get break this year since they don't have their normal shutdown corners like Trent Gordon last year? Linebacker: Justin Medlock is committed to Miami and they have a '24 kid who doesn't hold any notable offers but looks like he's going to be just as good as Brian Johnson when he was there. Running backs: Starter doesn't hold any power 5 offers but it looks like about half the Ivy League has offered him. Backup transferred from Shadow Creek last year and ran for over 1,000 yards also. He's a smaller, quicker guy who I think might actually be the most trouble for Crosby. Quarterback: He's a junior and just played a pretty much flawless game against Dickinson in his first varsity start. Completed 15 passes to 8 different receivers. Don't see any dropoff at all from that position vs last year with Gabe Larry. Very good chance you see Malik Hornsby type play out of him his next couple of years under center. Other than that though, we shouldn't have any issues.
  21. We have a QB2. He's the one that did most of the damage against Angleton in the scrimmage. He has a beautiful stroke but he can't run like Myles. Played jv last week against New Caney but has been moved up to backup Myles this week in Manvel. Throws the deep ball like almost like Jaiden Howard did but he's about 6'/145lbs so durability is a concern.
  22. Yes. Not that 17 points is a huge lead but I honestly don't remember Crosby losing any game they were up that much in. Should've comfortably beaten George Ranch in the opener last year too, offense looked just as clunky as it did in last week's opener though. Turned out well, hopefully the same happens this year?
  23. Now you see why I said there’s no value for the larger school dropping down to play a smaller school. Dude is acting like they won the super bowl. In the meantime if Crosby covers a kick and wins we’re still a 20+ point underdog to Manvel. Lol, now a fg loss on a late kick return is a “complete beating”. You can tell this is a heck of a lot bigger deal for them than it is Crosby.
