  1. My bad, it was Lindale they scrimmaged. I was reading something a Marshall poster was writing on the thread. Lindale got stomped by Argyle in the 4A-D1 title game last year. Thread says Carthage beat them 20-7 in two live quarters.
  2. Manvel scored 56 offensive points on only 39 plays last year in the bi-district game. They were up 49-0 after three quarters so I assume a lot of those plays in the 4th quarter were clock killing runs. I'm not saying Westbrook is as good as Manvel but unless BU has gotten drastically better I expect something like 52-17.
  3. It wasn't meant to highlight who scored what against Aledo. It was meant to show that it took the 5A-D2 state champion to hold Crosby to its lowest point total of the season. Using that logic I don't see the 4A-D2 state champion holding an even better team to less points.
  4. Nederland enrollment last 4 realignments: 2014 - 1,625 2016 - 1,596 2018 - 1,546 2020 - 1,451 Nederland's enrollment used to be 600+ kids over the 4A cutoff line. This last alignment cycle they were only 215 kids over the 4A cutoff. You're not in the middle of 5A anymore. They're about to be even closer to the cutoff come October. There may be some new housing additions but they aren't helping your enrollment. Ned has lost about 100 kids per cycle to the cutoff the last four realignments. Like you said, Ned's numbers are "steady or slightly decreasing" while the suburbs around the state are exploding. See Lamar Randle, Grand Oaks, Shadow Creek, Katy Paetow, Katy Jordan and Cypress Bridgeland who all just recently opened or will open this year with 5A/6A numbers in the Houston area. Cy-Fair already has plans for another school and it's only a matter of time until Humble ISD builds another one to relieve their overcrowding. In 2014 Nederland had over 100 more kids than Crosby, after this alignment Crosby will probably have over 500 more kids than Nederland and be about 700 kids over the 4A cutoff. 4A-D1 in an inevitability for Nederland considering their stagnant growth levels. That's no knock, it just it what it is. Nothing wrong with dropping down to where your enrollment allows you to, I'm actually hoping Crosby somehow comes in under the D1 cutoff.
  5. I don't really think we would see them this year either. I didn't point them out because of their personnel, it's because of that offense. Vidor was never stacked and they beat us twice with that offense. Crosby can't seem to defend the slot-T which is the main reason I pointed out LH. Oddly enough Liberty Hill was the last team to beat Carthage before they ran off 30 straight.
  6. Marshall Mavericks in the district with Texas High
  7. It's eventually going to happen. The way the population trends are now if you're not in a major metro area then you're not going to have the enrollment for the top class. Other SETX schools like Nederland will eventually drop to 4A-D1 because of this. When two districts like Cypress and Katy can alone take up 20+ of the approximate 250 6A spots and schools like Crosby and Barbers Hill are heading towards enrollments of 3,000 it's not hard to predict what the landscape will look like in the next decade or so in the 4A/5A classes.
  8. In a real game Crosby would've probably just beat Angleton something like 52-20. Had Angleton not had COVID issues last year they probably make the playoffs in a district that swept y'all. I don't think Carthage is 53 points better than 5A-D1 Angleton. Not even Aledo could hold last year's Crosby team to 14 points, if healthy this team is going to be better. Last year when we scrimmaged Tomball I left saying, "Dang, there's a lot of things to work on/clean up". This year after watching where we already are during the Angleton scrimmage I left saying, "FB Marshall and Liberty Hill are the only teams that can keep us from going back to the title game."
  9. They actually have gotten to scrimmage Marshall a couple of weeks ago. I like Soulja's prediction, I'm expecting to see a lot more of them this week.
  10. Wilson isn’t going to be the issue, he doesn’t have that same activity level as a kid like Omar Manning when he was there. Lancaster has been good lately because of their running backs. Broadway isn’t as good as Bradford but when you mix him with Rice’s(QB) ability to keep the defense honest he’s a real problem. Kid is a sledgehammer and Rice has thrown for 5k yards and 60tds the last two seasons. They have a safety on the back who will probably end up with 15+ FBS offers. My buddy’s some plays for Duncanville but they live in the Boardwalk subdivision in Lancaster and he follows them pretty close too. He mentioned some LB/Edge that was supposed to be pretty good. Said the o-line was decent but he’s probably comparing it to Duncanville. I’d imagine it’s one of the top two or three o-lines PAM would possibly see before a matchup with like a Cedar Park or Manvel.
  11. We only have a finite number of days before it’s our turn to go tell our story. Some of us down here trying to buy time to get that story together. Sound like Grad is going to have a good one to tell though, may her rest peacefully🙏🏾
  12. Ok, poster said it was someone young so was assuming 20’s or something. Not actually a kid.
  13. Looking at the enrollment numbers there’s a good chance schools like FB Marshall and South Oak Cliff could be dropping down to 4A-D1 in a couple of realignments. Probably the deepest of the split classes in the state already.
  14. Which part? The number of kids that have it? I said “half” arbitrarily because that’s the term that was used on the other board. If you’re talking about the kid that passed away, that’s what the guy from Carthage posted. They literally have a “Prayers for Carthage” thread.
  15. Wait until you see them run though? I will admit that the relay team is a year away but the football team might be a year ahead, mainly because of the defense. New DC looks like the real deal, fully expect him to have a HC job if we have a couple “plus” seasons under him. On the coaching side another thing that doesn’t get mentioned for Crosby’s recent success: the last five years Crosby has had six current head coaches on their sideline. Jerry Prieto - current Jeff Riordan - Crosby/Chapel Hill Coach Mann - Lubbock Coronado Coach Tarr - La Porte Coach Garcia - Falfurias Coach Coker - Rains
  16. Crosby already used to get backup caliber players from down the road in North Shore. We did lose a starting rb to CE King in ‘18 but for the most part Crosby is starting to get starters from King, Summer Creek, Channelview and of course our farm league in Baytown. Lol, might have something to do with your opinion of that picture. All bs aside, if you’re a parent moving into northeast Harris County right now with a male athlete and you don’t want to live in the city(North Shore), Crosby and Atascocita are probably your two options. I have a new boss at work that helped me validate this hypothesis.
  17. Yes, I miss the hell out of y’all🥰 Please get better soon. In case you haven’t heard, these Crosby kids now think Barbers Hill is their rival? They don’t remember the feeling you got in your stomach two weeks before the Dayton/Crosby game was actually even on the schedule. I have a real worry that if Dayton doesn’t get better before Crosby moves to 5A-D1 the game might fall completely off the schedule. Hopefully we could keep it going like a Sherman/Dennison thing but if you look at the way Crosby has been scheduling in the non-district for the last while, I’m not sure?
  18. Thank God. Means we might be able to stay within 20 this year.
  19. Supposedly half of Carthage's football team has COVID and they just had another death of a young person in town. Looking more and more like this one might not be a go. I really hope we find another game if this is the case, may be time to ask Stepp to send a tweet out.
  20. So you expect it to be a toss-up between Barbers Hill, PNG, Nederland, Crosby and Texas City for DC?
  21. You don't sleep on an 8X state champion riding a 30 game winning steak. You evaluate your team and decide your confidence level. I'm very confident Crosby is going to play well against Carthage, covid or not.
  22. I think we're gong to be a very convincing 2-1 headed into district play. If those running backs from Manvel can't combine for over 300 rushing yards on us then we might be looking at 3-0. Manvel is going to want to run it right down our throat but I think Casey and crew might be up to the task again this year.
  23. Hopefully Carthage can notify Crosby early enough if they're going to have to cancel so Crosby can possibly find another opponent. I'm sure there's someone in the state in the same situation.
  24. Game is going to be played in Randall Reed's New Caney ISD stadium No need for the long drawn out analysis in this one. It's Crosby coming off a state finals appearance versus Carthage coming off back to back 4A titles and riding a 30 game winning streak. It is what it is
