Agreed, that’s why I work at a refinery and Coach Prieto is in the semifinals. Somewhere Matthews will never lead Vidor.
-
I’ve never once called Crosby the Mecca of anything or alluded to our program being anywhere comparable to Aledo’s. That’s stuff you’re trying to crowbar in for dramatic effect. I see you’re struggling from CDS though. Crosby Derangement Syndrome. You’re literally down to the “Crosby has zero state championships” argument now.
-
It’s definitely a moral victory. The simple fact that you felt the need to ride another team’s jock to legitimize how awful your program has been running it for nearly two decades shows that. Vidor doesn’t have the personnel of a PLC, Calallen or LH who’ve been a lot more successful running that offense. They may not have the coaching either? Keep grasping at what you can though, I would too if I were you.
-
I’m not really sure we’re going to be the underdog in this one though? Crosby just took out the back to back state finalist by 9 while LH only beat the kids from the border and Eddie Lee by 3. I do think Crosby can use the “Can’t defend the slot-t” narrative as motivation though.
-
Nobody is constantly doing that, you’re one of the ones constantly saying it though. Again, you’re taking moral victories from losses as you should when your program is where it is. You also run that offense with Vidor’s players which is different than the personnel LH has.
-
Smh, guy is almost as bad as BigDog with his “end of the road” and “average” comments. I guess when your program is at the level of Vidor’s you take whatever moral victories you can get.
-
With an even healthier Dunn Crosby can probably get 60 on LH’s defense if need be? How well we defend the slot-t is the only question standing between the Crosby “Cougars” and their first state final appearance. One thing I think Crosby benefits hugely from here is that they’ve seen the slot-t and unlike Vidor’s version the qb doesn’t really run the ball.

FBM had 14 points at the end of 3 quarters, Crosby definitely had answers. Coach Prieto made some adjustments and Crosby put 28 points on FBM in the 4th quarter. Maybe I missed it but I didn’t see Marshall lining up on defense? #3 was playing well but really didn’t start balling until Marshall got ejected. Please miss us with the “actually scored that touchdown”. Jaylen Herman made the catch of the game and got robbed of a TD that would’ve made it 13-0 and give Crosby ALL the momentum, instead we end the drive with a pick because Dunn was limited. Great game, probably the best one I’ve seen Crosby play. Congrats on another great season, I don’t think anybody but possibly Crosby will be able to beat y’all in regional play the next two years. Assuming he doesn’t transfer Jakobe Banks is going to be electric in that offense with basically all of FBM’s weapons coming back. Mix that with FBM’s usual stifling defense and you probably get your 6th and 7th regional final appearance in a row.
-
They don’t have much in the way of personnel on their schedule. Majority of teams on their schedule are pretty bad matter of fact. I also think they benefit from teams not having seen that offense since they just moved up. One thing that has me a little worried is that they have those same type of defensive numbers as Huntsville and FBM. 101 total points allowed through 11 games. They just allowed 42 of those points to a Leander team I didn’t think was all that great though.

Man, and to do it right then and right there? James Williams deals with a lot in his program and probably doesn’t get the credit he deserves for what he’s built but I’m not sure if I would deal with Marshall again next year though? Kid is supposed to be one of the senior leaders next year? I bet half that locker room feel like he’s the reason they lost.

One thing about Crosby that they've always gotten flak for on this site is the fact that they do already "act like they've been there" even if they haven't. I think the other regional final we won in '14 is to far back to matter but one thing for sure is that the kids feel like they're SUPPOSED to be where they are. Hopefully FBM's kids see Crosby's loss to Nederland and how they manhandled them and take us lightly.

Crosby has had some good games at Turner and I'm not sure we've ever lost there but its also the district stadium we've struggled in the most. Played some games there that should've been easily won against KP and Humble and were lucky to leave with victories. FBM is also familiar with Turner thanks to their recent playoff runs. From '16-'20 FBM has played in 23 playoff games to date, the only one they've lost by more than 4 points is the '18 title game to Aledo. I'm not sure even on our best day that we can beat them handily? I will say though, in region 3 play this is probably their most gettable team since the '16 squad that handled us in Deer Park. If Crosby can play the way they did against TH then I feel like we have a better chance than not at winning, if we play like we did against HHS we're probably going to be sitting home in the semis. Definitely won't be worried about the name on the front of the jersey though, and I actually think all the trash talking FBM does is going to motivate Crosby even more.

Fort Bend Marshall 49 Nederland 0/FINAL

Lol, Tank Head? That’s pretty weak. With such a nice comment I feel like I need to compliment you back for your historic season by Vidor standards this year. -
Man, it might be the most stupid thing I’ve said on here all year but I think Crosby’s defense is going to match up with FBM very well. FBM’s QB was 12-29 for 229 against Nederland with 3 tds. Six catches for 166 and two tds went to Marshall though. Ned also held them to 163 yards on 34 carries rushing. Even in a loss Crosby had 36 carries for 227. As long as we don’t turn the ball over I don’t think FBM can beat Crosby with those type numbers? Call me even crazier but if Dunn is reasonably healthy I think Crosby’s receivers are going to have their way with FBM’s DBs. FBM doesn’t have that same push from the interior d-line the way Huntsville did and Crosby still managed 337 through the air. I’ve never seen 49-0 film I’ve had more hope after watching. Another thing, HHS was probably 60% on 3rd and long. We’ll for sure be at home if that happens this week.

FBM has Chris Marshall listed at 6-3 and Crosby has Jonathan Fuselier listed at 6-3. Fuselier shadowed Jordan Woodberry last game against Huntsville and pretty much got torched to the point you wondered why they didn’t give him some help but he made one of the biggest plays of the game when he deflected a deep ball 1 v 1 against Woodberry right before overtime. Huge play in the clutch, made me understand why Coach P left him out there on an island like that. Woodberry was a smaller, quicker and faster receiver than Marshall. Marshall is a lot higher rated kid but but I think it’s a better matchup for Fuselier. It might take Marshall a minute to get used to a guy looking him eye to eye across the LOS and able to go up with him on those high point balls he so good at coming down with. Other than that I think Crosby is getting a break personnel wise by catching this FBM squad while they’re young and for some reason not starting the sophomore backup QB who I think would be a matchup nightmare for the Cougars.
