They don’t have much in the way of personnel on their schedule. Majority of teams on their schedule are pretty bad matter of fact. I also think they benefit from teams not having seen that offense since they just moved up. One thing that has me a little worried is that they have those same type of defensive numbers as Huntsville and FBM. 101 total points allowed through 11 games. They just allowed 42 of those points to a Leander team I didn’t think was all that great though.

Man, and to do it right then and right there? James Williams deals with a lot in his program and probably doesn’t get the credit he deserves for what he’s built but I’m not sure if I would deal with Marshall again next year though? Kid is supposed to be one of the senior leaders next year? I bet half that locker room feel like he’s the reason they lost.

One thing about Crosby that they've always gotten flak for on this site is the fact that they do already "act like they've been there" even if they haven't. I think the other regional final we won in '14 is to far back to matter but one thing for sure is that the kids feel like they're SUPPOSED to be where they are. Hopefully FBM's kids see Crosby's loss to Nederland and how they manhandled them and take us lightly.

Crosby has had some good games at Turner and I'm not sure we've ever lost there but its also the district stadium we've struggled in the most. Played some games there that should've been easily won against KP and Humble and were lucky to leave with victories. FBM is also familiar with Turner thanks to their recent playoff runs. From '16-'20 FBM has played in 23 playoff games to date, the only one they've lost by more than 4 points is the '18 title game to Aledo. I'm not sure even on our best day that we can beat them handily? I will say though, in region 3 play this is probably their most gettable team since the '16 squad that handled us in Deer Park. If Crosby can play the way they did against TH then I feel like we have a better chance than not at winning, if we play like we did against HHS we're probably going to be sitting home in the semis. Definitely won't be worried about the name on the front of the jersey though, and I actually think all the trash talking FBM does is going to motivate Crosby even more.

Fort Bend Marshall 49 Nederland 0/FINAL

Lol, Tank Head? That’s pretty weak. With such a nice comment I feel like I need to compliment you back for your historic season by Vidor standards this year. -
Man, it might be the most stupid thing I’ve said on here all year but I think Crosby’s defense is going to match up with FBM very well. FBM’s QB was 12-29 for 229 against Nederland with 3 tds. Six catches for 166 and two tds went to Marshall though. Ned also held them to 163 yards on 34 carries rushing. Even in a loss Crosby had 36 carries for 227. As long as we don’t turn the ball over I don’t think FBM can beat Crosby with those type numbers? Call me even crazier but if Dunn is reasonably healthy I think Crosby’s receivers are going to have their way with FBM’s DBs. FBM doesn’t have that same push from the interior d-line the way Huntsville did and Crosby still managed 337 through the air. I’ve never seen 49-0 film I’ve had more hope after watching. Another thing, HHS was probably 60% on 3rd and long. We’ll for sure be at home if that happens this week.

FBM has Chris Marshall listed at 6-3 and Crosby has Jonathan Fuselier listed at 6-3. Fuselier shadowed Jordan Woodberry last game against Huntsville and pretty much got torched to the point you wondered why they didn’t give him some help but he made one of the biggest plays of the game when he deflected a deep ball 1 v 1 against Woodberry right before overtime. Huge play in the clutch, made me understand why Coach P left him out there on an island like that. Woodberry was a smaller, quicker and faster receiver than Marshall. Marshall is a lot higher rated kid but but I think it’s a better matchup for Fuselier. It might take Marshall a minute to get used to a guy looking him eye to eye across the LOS and able to go up with him on those high point balls he so good at coming down with. Other than that I think Crosby is getting a break personnel wise by catching this FBM squad while they’re young and for some reason not starting the sophomore backup QB who I think would be a matchup nightmare for the Cougars.

Smh, you lay out some decent points in a couple post and a guy whose squad probably has a .350 win percentage in our class and runs the slot-T calls it stupid? You’d think they would somewhat benefit from so many homes floating away in the recent floods which allowed them to drop to 4A but they’re still a sub .500 team. You’re going to learn to limit your responses to the Vidor folks and definitely not put any value in their critique of your analysis. -
SLC is probably a slight favorite but I'm rooting for Trinity. For no other reason than a Trinity vs Duncanville semi. SLC vs Trinity in the Steve Lineweaver days was an iconic THSF matchup. I think Trinity and Duncanville could be right on par with some of those SWAC games you see played on the SW side of Dallas.

Lol, get over it? I was over it after we beat FBW 66-0. I see FBM just handed y’all one of your worst losses in program history, I would be trying to get over that if I was you. I know seeing Crosby in a regional final has some extra sting to it for your too, especially now that those fans’ comments that said your win over Crosby in the regular season was irrelevant. I didn’t think that but I guess they were right. A few weeks ago you said, “I hate to break it to you, but Crosby is an average team.” Just wondering what you would call the other 7 teams left playing?

The only top 6A teams FBM could hang with out of the Houston area are probably Cy-Fair and Dawson. North Shore and Katy are probably going to win titles this year, FBM wouldn’t even score on either of those squads and would definitely lose by 30+. Probably to Tompkins by a similar margin. What FBM does even within the class at less than 1,400 kids is amazing. What NS does in 6A with about 4,500 kids is on a different levels though.

Crosby is focused now too. They won’t overlook FBM like they did Nederland after winning their previous 6 district games by an average of 40ppg. Crosby lost to FBM in ‘16 so we’re going to tell ourselves it won’t happen again. I can do that too. FBM is going to line up with the best team they’ve played all year, just like Crosby will. A red hot Crosby team(pun intended) might be a recipe for disaster for FBM.

Shout out to the Cougar coaching staff and Coach Jerry Prieto. In only his/their second year and 26th overall game as a head coach he has Crosby back in the regional finals. Feels like we do it a different way in Crosby now. Looking forward to an exciting finish to the season and even more excited to see what he does with the talent he has coming down the pipe. Seems like Crosby has pretty much hit on all four hires since ‘03.

The reason FBM was a bad matchup for Crosby last time we played them in the playoffs is the same reason they’re a bad matchup now. They play just like us except with better personnel. . . most years. People talked about Huntsville and Texas High having the best defenses in the region but I actually think it’s FBM(I’m of course partial to my Cougars). That speed is just an unquantifiable factor. If we could slowly march down the field like a Ned then like you said, that’s the optimal plan. Crosby throws Hail Marys on first down and doesn’t try to pick up the first until third down some drives. It’s wouldn’t be my philosophy but we’re 4 deep with it so I’ll just keep going to work. I do believe this philosophy plays right into FBM’s hands though. 12-5A-D2 is going to finish the season with at least 6 playoff wins making it the strongest district in the region this year. New Year’s Day Crosby might be able to prove they’re playing out of the strongest D2 district in the state?
