  1. I mean, the score is what it is but Crosby still needs to play better on the offensive side of the ball. I will say it is very nice to see this type of team performance despite not being as sharp as we should.
  2. Lol, last year was the least regular season wins Crosby has had in a season since 2010 and you still didn’t win. That’s after going to double OT because our coach didn’t kneel the ball in regulation and end the game. Unless the qb tears his ACL or you have another Deshawn Washington y’all lose to Crosby every time. Don’t worry though, we’re waiting outside the room while BH takes their turn this week.
  3. If Crosby receivers would’ve just caught the open passes they dropped against BH they would’ve scored at least 14 more points. It was a good win but still somewhat disappointing to see that many plays and points left on the field.
  4. I’m sure I haven’t seen as much Nederland football as you but I would think those teams from ‘11-‘14 were their “above average” teams? Talent doesn’t always dictate victory margins or even wins for that matter but this is definitely the widest talent gap I’ve seen between Crosby and the mid-county schools. If your current team is what you’re calling above average now, I suspect you’re just waiting to drop down to 4A. I’ve said it on here for a while but I think you’re starting to see stagnant enrollments like PNG and Ned have a harder go of it than growing schools like Crosby and BH, that’s all thing being relatively equal of course.
  5. I think if you’re a Crosby fan this is the type spread you want to see against this version of PNG. Anything closer than three tds and you probably start to feel less confident about the looming 2nd round matchup with what will most likely be an 11-0 Texas High.
  6. That means PNG would finish in 3rd and draw Willowridge, who’s more than capable of putting 50 on the Indians, in the first round. We had to put 70 on them to hold them off last year and I think our defense was better than PNG’s is this year. I want to say the their qb threw for almost 500 yards on us.
  7. PNG has given up right at 45ppg over their last couple and Crosby is giving up 7.5ppg since the start of district play. PNG allowed BH’s qb to rush and throw for over 200 yards so unless he gets hurt I’m not really seeing how they have an answer for Branch who’s probably going to be the district’s offensive player of the year? I don’t think Crosby will have an issue scoring 50 on PNG if need be but I’m hoping the defense continues to play well enough that Crosby doesn’t have to go past the qb draw/50-50 ball portion of the playbook.
  8. Like I said last week, kind of expected a little more from the district? I hope we’re just THAT good? I don’t expect PNG to provide much resistance next week either.
  9. I don’t think this region is going to be very competitive this year? FB Marshall just allowed their first points of the year last week to Austin and hold a 322-6 scoring advantage over their six opponents to date. Their starters haven’t even played into the second half after the first game of the season against Elkins. I think they’re the best 5A team in Houston and that’s saying a lot considering I believe the Foster vs Manvel regional final winner will play Denton Ryan for the state title in D1. I don’t think A&M Con. is as good as some of their teams the past couple of years but the way Huntsville mauled them was still pretty impressive. They remind me a lot of the Ennis team that beat Cedar Park for the title in ‘14. They’re probably the most physically imposing 5A team in the region besides Foster.
  10. Just some “All-Star” break observations: 1. Crosby looks to be back on track under coach Prieto. We still have a lot of deficiencies but coach is proving that if given the players he can mitigate some of them as a good coach should. 2. BH is starting to look the part annually. I think they’re the small 5A version of Deer Park with a little Cy-Fair mixed in. With the way Mont Belvieu is growing BH is in a very good place to continue their upward trajectory. When the school board pays the head coach $160k you would think you may want that trajectory to be slightly more vertical? 3. Mid-county is in the middle of the district. They went 0-4 against 1942 last year and may do so again this year? This may become a theme(🤞🏾) if they don’t produce more kids like RJ and Deshawn Washington, I mean even your Rose and Seay type kids are becoming more sparse. 4. If far away is a couple of years then Dayton may still be around the corner from that. Dayton is probably close to an HISD level participation rate? BH did it with money, Crosby did it with a search committee, Dayton did it at the sale barn. I think you see where a handshake hire like Nations may have a multi-year impact. 5. Really expected the district to be better this year. Thought we would get a little more from KP and Texas City? Still in good shape to get three teams through to the bi-district round though.
  11. As long as PAM stays in first place I think they’re the only team that has a chance to advance past the first round with a potential bi-district victory against Katy Paetow. Looks like Angleton has had some corona issue? Of the times we’ve played Manvel, this was definitely their best team this year. We missed the 2017 state championship team because of Harvey. I think Manvel is going to beat Foster this week and play them again for the regional final. I follow the Mo City area a lot because of some buddies that live there and this is probably Hightower’s best team in a while too. Unreal the draw 9-5A-D1 gets bi-district for the next couple of years. Still a lot of fun to have in the regular season though.
  12. I figured since the four playoff teams have “should win” games this week we can review this preseason thread. Swap BH and PNG it looks right. Long as BH handles their business the rest of the year that game between KP and Ned should be a play in. One thing I did miss on was Dayton. They’re going to be able to see them all for the third year in a row. Hopefully the participation level goes up for coach Ware in the coming seasons.
  13. I know it’s due to our schedules but I was just looking at the standings in 11-5A-D2 to start gauging potential playoff matchups and saw that with BH’s win over PNG, 12-5A-D2 only has one team above .500 after six games. Could’ve won a lot of money in Lake Charles on that one. I mean, BH, Crosby, PNG and Ned will be the playoff teams again and for probably the next few years but I’m not sure the 3-1 that looked like such a given when Manvel left the district is so sure now? We have some teams in this district that aren’t even getting us prepared for the first round.
  14. Yes on your first question. If you opened up Drew High School again you would split the current Crosby High into a 4-D2 and a 4A-D1 that may still be able to beat all the Baytown schools. None of the people really moved out in Barrett Station, more just moved in. My Latino invasion comment was because some on this board feel that’s why certain programs may be struggling currently.
  15. Interesting that every reason says Lee shouldn’t but yet are clearly the best football school in Baytown. This really hurts the “Latino invasion” argument.
  16. BH had the best defense in our district last year and may have the best defense in the district again this year? Considering their schedule up to this point my observation would be to the contrary.
  17. Like I said last week, I fully expect y’all to finish second in the district. Y’all hadn’t/haven’t fell apart all year and you didn’t against Crosby, y’all got taken apart. Just like we did the year prior in BH.
  18. LMAO, the exit polls also said Hillary won last time. Smh. How idiotic do you have to be to quote an article where trump was still up 600k votes in Pennsylvania alone, and now losing the state after you start counting black votes. Trump did do better than he did in 2016 with minorities which was historically bad even for a republican but after all the votes are certified I think you’re going to see if was mainly Cubans in south Florida and Venezuelan refugees that helped him. I wouldn’t expect someone as ignorant as you to realize; 1. a lesser percentage of white people voted for trump and 2. They’re still counting votes out of heavily minority areas around the country, including mail-in votes where Biden is winning 3-1 even in trump friendly areas, which is skewing the numbers until the final tally is released. I know it’s hard for you right now bro. All your flags and tactical gear still didn’t help him get re-elected🤷🏾‍♂️
  19. I came to check in on the daily tampon change out but I've see y'all are already in infowars territory so reality has gone by the wayside. What I will say is the one common theme all of you seem to not be able to grasp is voter turnout and what demographics are tired of trump. Trump mostly won because black people didn't go vote for Hillary in the industrial Midwest the way they voted for Obama, particularly Wayne and Milwaukee counties where trump flipped Michigan and Wisconsin on basically those two areas. Now you see the turnout in Philly approaching where it was with Obama which is going to allow Biden to flip Pennsylvania back blue. While trump has made headway with non-college educated whites over the last four years he's bled support from college educated whites in the suburbs which is why you see the metropolitan areas driving the state results more along the lines of Obama's elections versus the rural voter driving trump to victory in 2016. What's really a shame is that democrats have to win the popular vote by dang near four percentage points to win a presidential election now. Something that's even more obvious from following the president on Twitter is that the message of "The election is rigged", "The ballots are fraudulent", "You can't trust mail-in votes" resonated with trump people and they waited until election day to go vote in person. On the flip side all you heard form democratic candidates was, "Vote early", "Vote by mail", "Walk your ballot in past X date with trump's guy slowing down the mail". Both groups listened. Congratulations, now you get to have to same end of the world feeling that democrats had when the most ignorant and xenophobic s.o.b. to hold the White House since Coolidge was screening Birth of a Nation there.
  20. Here's you answer from the right wing New York Post. Republicans intentionally did this to help create the situation we're in now: [Hidden Content]
  21. I'm a law abiding citizen, have zero on my record. Yet, multiple times I've been asked to get out the of the car and cuffed for "the officer's safety" for something like a seatbelt ticket. I was pulled over in Liberty County one time, asked to get out of the car and cuffed for 45 mins while they waited on a dog because they said "I looked like I was coming from a high drug traffic area". Never received a warning or ticket. I was pulled over in Chambers County om I-10 on the was back from the NBA All-Star game in New Orleans. State trooper literally told me, "I pulled you over because this is a pretty high drug traffic area and you fit the profile. What do you do for a living?" Again, no ticket or warning for anything. My son has been pulled over 6 times in our subdivision, had his car searched about half of those times and never been given a ticket for anything. This saddest part of what's going on now is that my stupid ass actually asked him to cut his hair so the police would leave him alone and he did it. As a black parent I figured cutting his hair would be a better option than having him pulled over and possibly killed for reaching for a cell phone. There are black guys that work at my job who make $350k+ and have dozens of the exact same stories. None of the white guys do though. I can't tell you how many former cops we've hired that are trump voters and still admit there's rampant racism in the police forces they came from. I can guarantee you've never had your sons ask you the questions about how society views them that I have. I mean, a cop in Dallas literally walked into the wrong apartment and shot a law abiding citizen with no criminal record for "not obeying her commands" while she was texting another cop she was having an affair with and will be out of jail in less time than someone who gets caught stealing bologna a few times.
  22. I know KP isn’t a good football team but this is what you should do to a not good football team. Other than a one, what seemed to be to me a complacency lapse, the defense has played well. Still interested in seeing how we’re going to manufacture rushing yards against some of the better fronts we could possibly see in the playoffs.
  23. You mean the trump campaign guy who tried to come in and watch but wasn’t assigned to that poll location, yet was let in after a rule change to specifically rebuke the claims of cheating you’re making? It’s crazy people think you have to cheat to beat a president who’s carried the lowest approval rating since Carter. The sycophants really do though. I mean, to be honest I’m more concerned about the reason they were rioting. I’m more worried about my sons ending up like George Floyd versus some broken glass and burning buildings which are all insured.
  24. If you watched something besides Fox they would actually show you the one representative from each party who have to agree for the ballot to be counted and the two NPAs that resolve issues if the Democrat and republican don’t agree. That’s why it’s taking so long, they’re actually doing the stuff trump syndicate is complaining they’re not.
