  1. My reference is not to who wanted the Newton vs CC game and who didn't want it. It was in reference to the fact that Barbay built his team up in an egotistical fashion to the press. He spoke as if he couldn't be beat and then lost the first game of the season. That is my whole point. Nothing else, nada, no more. There is nothing else to read into.
  2. The Hill takes this one HANDS DOWN. Lumberton has come a long ways and I was definitely an L-Train supporter last year at playoff time, but Barber Hill's great football tradition is deeply rooted and they will take this one easy. Eagles by 14.
  3. Here is the link for the interview. . . [Hidden Content]
  4. I don't know much about the Woodville team this year. In the past they have been relatively inconsistent and streaky. Based on that I will have to say HJ by 10.
  5. I want to go with the panthers, but it's just hard to vote that way after watching the BC game. I say the Horns by 2
  6. HA HA read a few more boards, post a few more comments, put your "big boy" pants on and then come back with a comment that makes more sense. If it had been the other way around people would have been saying the same thing in a negative fashion "Tarkington is SOOO terrible, I can't believe they lost, they have never lost to Huntington before." If the horns win it was an easy game, if they lose then they should have. People will always look at it that way, but I say a win in a win. So get over yourself and go talk your crap somewhere else.
  7. How does orangefield look??? I haven't seen them at all this year.
  8. As much as I would love to see Barbay go into district winless after his classless interview. . .I am afraid Newton is gonna take care of business in EC. Newton by 10.
  9. Thats classy Lets not try to discount a win.
  10. Now do not misunderstand this, I will be the last person to get on here and talk high and mighty about Tarkington like they will be district playoff contenders, but the horns have 1 big thing going for them and against them. . . coaching turnover. It's bad cause there is no consistency, but its good because someone will find something that works. They have NEVER been a powerhouse, but they have had good seasons. This years offense looks better than I have seen them in quite a while and with a big name north texas native DC calling the shots from the booth I think they will fair better than most seem to think. As for Liberty speed means nothing without hands and the turnover count in that game against BC was R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S. A fixable problem, but a problem none the less. And more than likely one that will keep them out of playoff contention
  11. Yeah and that interview you speak of is gonna haunt Barbay for the rest of the season.
  12. its weak because the coaching is horrible.. nothing to do with the players.. the players are quite talented for having to deal with the coaching.. and if working the forklift helped me get to the point where im pitching in college.. then load me up some more of them pallets haha I have seen a Tarkington game or two, and I would say the coaches may have looked bad in your eyes because they spent the entire game trying to convince those so-called "talented" players that they could actually catch up in a 7-0 ball game. But if bashing your coaches for your shortcomings makes you feel better then I guess get after it.
  13. Tarkington didn't fair well at all last year. However, looks like their football philosophy has changed this year and I have a feeling they will be much more competitive. Im gonna go out on a limb here and say Tarkington leaves with a "W"
  14. Isn't it funny how the trash talking stops when Hardin beats the #1 team from the other, supposedly much more difficult, pool? HA HA HA open mouth and insert foot
  15. i beg to differ Isadore is getting the same if not more attention then him........ Dude please! Go the the 5A website and look at top backs next year rankings, Micheal's name is at the top of the list. You have guys all over the state that route for other teams saying that Micheal is the top back in the state. Isadore's name isn't even in the top 10 LB rankings, let alone top prospects. Only in your blue and yellow mind. Be happy the kid got offered from Auburn, but lets not start typing ridiculous statements like this! Beard makes Michael look week ! You'll see he will lead Lumberton deep into the playoffs. So by "deep into the playoffs" do you mean, have a great year, get everybody on the band wagon, and then completely overlook another playoff caliber team because you are so fired up about a Dayton rematch? Anyways since I have talked a little trash I will give my picks (since Micheal is the obvious #1 I'm gonna skip him) Snelson made some noise last year at PAM and is only gonna get better (good call Go-Rilla) And another pick for my boy Go-Rilla has got to be "Heavy" at Northshore
  16. Ha ha anahuac got beat by Tarkington in a scrimmage last year 3 to 1, and I hate to guess at things but I don't think the Horns had a great season.
  17. I kind of have mixed emotions on this one. I think it was definitely uncalled for in front of the kids, but most teachers would love to punch out a parent at some point in time throughout their career. Most would never do it, but someone just lived out a dream!!!
  18. OOOOOO yodaddy. . .you have a lot to learn young grasshopper. Your opinion on Vitales comments make no difference to Dicky.
  19. I played on a junior high team where all the starters were dunking and we won city championships every year for awhile in Houston. When I was in Jr High we started an 8th grade game with a 2 - 0 lead against Madisonville because we shot Techs for 2 of their players dunking in warm-up.
  20. And yet some parents still complain when more disciplinary action is taken on an athlete versus a non-athlete. What exactly do they think we are trying to do here. I wish they would raise them better at home so coaches wouldn't have to teach them all over again. Ha
  21. This reminds me of Cleveland High School in 22AAA. In the mid 90's they had as good a team as any, but they were on academic probation and were told my UIL that if any more fights broke out they would be suspended for 3 years from high school sports. They too never make it past the first round of the playoffs because of no discipline.
  22. Lets not do the same thing to Silsbee that we did to Lumberton in football. The tigers have a game against a very vengeful OF and they definitely need to get by them first.
  23. By whose standard???
  24. And Tarkington has beaten KP once before
