  1. FYI- Ty Parker(the catcher) will be fine. Doctors told him to take a day off and then get after it again.
  2. VOP I know you hate Kelly, but they might have had a very good reason. Kelly has already proved that they are not scared of anyone. From a very good source, Kelly dropped out because they said they were out of pitching. I'm with VOP on this one. Everyone is out of pitching at this point of a tournament. Kelly should be embarassed.
  3. I'm glad we're being picked as the underdog. That worked out pretty well for us last year. My prediction Jasper 4 BC 2.
  4. BC- don't let Heckler lure you into that trash. He's just trying to get a rise out of you. Let it go and see who ends up on top after all the games have been played.
  5. ;D ;D Maybe they can get something accomplished!
  6. Everyone involved in this has questionable character. McNamee was involved in illegally acquiring and distributing steroids. With that being said, I could easily believe any one of Roger's arguments. But, when you look at them all as a whole, it just doesn't add up. Do I think McNamee is completely truthful? That is argueable, but his story seems more truthful than Roger's.
  7. I agree OLGabe, I really don't know how this was going to help the kids. I thought that was the whole reason Congress got involved. It is now a witchhunt.
  8. I've been listening to the hearing and it sounds to me like Roger may be getting caught up in some lies. I want to believe him, but I can't after listening to the testimony. I was just wondering what everyone's opinion is after today.
  9. If he's good enough to play in the SEC, then he is legit, regardless of the competition he played against.
  10. Hart- still undecided on which college to play at next year Parsons- signed with Texarkana Bronson- signed to play with McNeese next year. I'm guessing it is hard for many small schools to have 3 college level athletes in the outfield.
  11. I gotta agree. I also think Jasper has the best trio in SE Texas in Hart, Justin Parsons, and Malcolm Bronson. It's gonna be hard to find a hole out there when they are all on the field.
  12. Anytime, that's just not right.
  13. As much as I dislike BC, I gotta stand up and say that you shouldn't be bashing on Dishon over what you heard. He's gone, let him go have a successful college career without you trying to ruin his reputation here at home.
  14. Prediction- Both teams will pitch everybody that can throw and play everyone on the roster. Come on man, predictions for a scrimmage, give me a break.
  15. It's a scrimmage, don't get so sensitive. Even if you would have lost, it doesn't matter. It's all about getting things worked out for when the season starts and HJ will be very good this year.
  16. ;D ;D ;)The brushback. I love it.
  17. Jasper don't need practice they're the state champs. We need all of the practice we can get. We were champs last year and that won't win us one game this year.
  18. Hey Coop, send us some dryer weather up here in Jasper. The boys haven't been able to get on their field yet. They've been stuck practicing on the Junior League field. Even with the conditions, things have went well so far.
  19. I hope this is not true because it will limit the coaches ability to call pitches in some ballparks. If this is true, that is pretty sorry of the coaches who sued. They knew the dangers when they sat out there.
  20. What???? This was at WOS #1...........so why should Silsbee administration be ashamed.........the COACH, not UIL suspended the players in question, what else should he do.........WOS fans........not Silsbee's were on the floor fighting, WOS throwing balls at Silsbee players...........and yes the 2 that got suspensions probably deserve it........but then read the article above..........NO WOS PLAYERS SUSPENDED AT THIS TIME! You said you needed facts, great, but wait until you get them before making comments like you did about Silsbee being ashamed of themselves. Here are some more facts: WOS - parent on the floor last year at Silsbee during Girls game, yelling and screaming after a foul. WOS - parent (fan) ejected at Evadale -v- Silsbee in Girls playoff last year. WOS - Fighting in FB -v- Dayton this year WOS - Fighting -v- Silsbee in boys BB this year (and these are just the ones "I" know about!) Now it could be that everyone is just picking on poor little WOS.........or maybe........well you decide! To answer your questions... Silsbee's administration should not be ashamed of what WOS did, but by the apparent weakness of suspensions handed down by the coach. I believe that anyone leaving the bench for any reason, should be suspended. Anyone on the court fighting should be suspended. If this were as bad as reported, and only two Silsbee players did either of the above two, someone needs to report this that way outsiders looking in get a realistic view. I stated that I could be wrong. I do commend the Silsbee fans for not coming onto the court, they showed they were above that. As far as me not hammering WOS, I'm waiting to see what they do before I make a judgement. Something severe needs to be done because I've heard other reports this year that make me wonder why this has escalated to this point.
  21. I want to know some facts. How many players left the bench? How many players in the game were actively involved in the fight? If this were as big a brawl as everyone was saying, then there should have been more suspensions. Anyone leaving the bench should be suspended, regardless of the reason.Anyone on the court fighting, should be suspended. It appears to me (I wasn't there so I could be wrong) that if the fight were as bad as reported, that the coaches and administration at Silsbee should be ashamed of themselves for not cracking down harder on their players for their actions. It appears (once again, I could be wrong) that a chance at winning district is more important than teaching these young men some lessons.
  22. I hope this doesn't make its way to 3a. It used to mean something for a team to have a consecutive playoff streak. Now, it won't mean anything because you'll have many undeserving teams in weak districts get to stick their chest out about making the playoffs every year. A great example from this year would be district 22-3a. All of their three teams were beaten by 21-3a. What purpose would it have served to allow a fourth team into the playoffs only to lose in the first round. I know someone will point out the success of some fourth place teams, but I don't like it, especially in six team districts.
  23. That's right, it was an easy call for the convention. You can't let him speak to high school coaches on his durability through the years, when he was cheating for a good portion of that time.
