Wow!

It is now confirmed by Ashley Elam that Coach Comeaux is stepping down and handing over the reigns to ex Rock A Noo and current assistant Brittany Fruge. She will remain as the girls athletic director. She has had a heck of a run!

Several local girls, including mine are playing for team out of Houston and we played in North Carolina this past weekend and they had at least 20 major Div 1 coaches watching them. With probably another 15 smaller schools. I’m sure 99% of the we’re watching HJ’s phenom (Man she is good and fun to watch), but hoping some of the others get noticed in the process! The recruiting process seems to have changed from offering early to waiting late in the game now. Glad to see Lamar hires fast since they are going to need to start recruiting.

Sharing the gym with multiple sports? We have three different gyms. At the beginning of season they share with Volleyball and girls basketball. So each team has an available gym? So not sure what you mean by that part of the statement.

I was told the talent she thought was good enough (which wasn’t very many) always went to bigger schools. This 2019 recruiting class has three McDonalds All American nominees and as far as I know we have only had two of those around here in recent years, Alexis Morris and Ash K. So if she was able to recruit All Americans vs local talent then I don’t blame her for recruiting outside the area. I honestly don’t think attracting local talent would bring in/draw crowds anymore than they get now. I would love for the new coaches to recruit my kid to go play there for selfish reasons, lol.

She was a good fit here, hopefully next coach can continue to do the same.

Now it is on to AAU Ball for my daughter and a busy summer of traveling in hopes of her finding a future home and place she can continue to play basketball for four more years after High School. Praying for both Hawkins girls tonight, Hope injuries are minor.

Watched HJ tonight, they better fix their defense and stop dribble penetration to the hole. Livingston girls made it look easy at times, but couldn’t finish at the rim. HJ wins by 10+ though.

I saw WOS play in EC tourney and #11 was athletic and could jump through the roof, but (at least the two games I watched) was not a great basketball player. He was avg the games I watched, missed some easy layups and put backs all game long. What is up with WOS coach not allowing players to shoot three pointers except in the corners? Why would you setup an offense to where the defense know that I don’t need to close out except in this area of the floor? Makes no sense to me.
