PNG 37-33 over Bridge City! Really good start to the season. Three of last year’s starters not playing today.

Yea, they are winning 41-13 and don’t really need him. -
Looking forward to playing you guys Nov 13th. Last year both teams matched up well against each other.
-
Well Coach, they have you in the 4 spot, time to get your ladies ready to prove they are better than 4th!
-
I got the same four teams, just have to see which order, maybe I do know something! Lol!
-
I was pretty close on this one.
-
I didn’t make any predictions in this district and that was on purpose, lol. I sure hope we see PNG somewhere in that 4. It would be the first time in school history for them. When, I moved my daughter here in the 7th grade and I showed her how PNG girls basketball had never made the playoffs, I told her if she worked hard enough she could be part of something special at PNG girls basketball. She looked at me and said “my goal is to be a part of the first girls basketball team to hang a banner up in the gym.” Well, she has worked hard so I personally would love to witness her fulfill that goal she made that day.

Tarkington is always tough. Woodville will be a real good test for you coach and Lumberton will actually be a good measuring stick for Lumberton. Woden, I have no clue about.
-
PNG might be a little rough, 3 out of 5 starters will not be playing. But should be some good work and see what kind of depth we will have.

PNG/Tarkington/Bridge City - Saturday
-
Having Ash as a post is always going to be an advantage. I believe she committed to go play at Witchita State and having Coach Brown running the program and what she gets out of her girls, United will be just fine. I know in some fall basketball the HJ group beat Laporte 79-2!
-
Man, I don’t have a clue what I’m talking about, lol!
-
# 1 - Beaumont United will not have any growing pains moving up to 6A. Coach Brown will continue her legacy as a top level basketball coach. Ash will dominate this district and will have two quality Sophomore guards that will join forces to take hold of this new district. United should run away with this district. #2 - Deer Park should be the closest competition in this district, they seem to always get quality athletes year in and year out that step in and feel voids left behind from previous years #3 - Galena Park North Shore should be battling with Deer Park for 2nd place, but seem to be a little less consistent than Deer Park. #4 - Beaumont West Brook should squeak into the playoffs, but after leaving there standout PG from last year and other Sr leadership the Brook will take a step back from last year. #5 - Channelview will continue to play below avg basketball, but will do enough to stay out of the bottom spot. #6 - Sheldon King does just enough to stay out of bottom spot, but won’t be very competitive. #7 - Baytown Sterling were bad last year and will continue to play bad basketball this year. #8 - Laporte No talent will continue to keep you near the bottom.
-
Baytown Sterling Beaumont United Beaumont West Brook Channelview Deer Park Galena Park North Shore Laporte Sheldon King Both Beaumont Teams competing for the Top Spot, can either do it?
-
I got the inside skinny, lol. The one that tore her ACL chose not to play this year, the other post I thought that chose not to play is actually playing, so that will definitely help Lumberton have a nice balanced attack and bring some Senior leadership!

Cleveland - Moving up from 4A to 5A could bring some growing pains. They came in last place in their 5 team district last year. Don’t know much about the talent they have there. Dayton - Came in 5th place in a tough district last year, but took a big hit in losing their top guard to graduation, but will probably be one of the top teams in the new district. Barbers Hill - After coming up one game shy of making it to state, it could be a rebuilding year for BH, losing The Gatorade Player of the Year and 6 other seniors is a lot to replace. I believe they have 3 girls returning that have more experience in the playoffs than anybody else in the district and a seasoned coach. Nederland - Nederland plays other teams tough, just haven’t had a lot of girls with basketball experience. They should be young and hungry so watch out you never know. Port Arthur Memorial - Have a strong core returning from last year including Div 1 post prospect who will be tough to defend. If the get good guard play will be tough to beat. I have them as the district favorites this year. PNG - Have the entire team returning. If they continue to grow should be the first team in PNG school history to make the playoffs. Vidor - Always a scrappy team, that plays with a lot of heart, could beat any team on any given night.
-
Cleveland Dayton Barbers Hill Nederland Port Arthur Memorial PNG Vidor Who do you guys have at the top? This district has a whole new look to it. Barbers Hill is only team in the district that made the playoffs last year.

Thanks Team First for the input. Wilbur was a beast and if Tyler was the PG, she was super quick.
-
The volleyball board is really sad this season, there are absolutely no updates. I’m going to put up a different district everyday for the next week.
-
#1 HJ - I would say is the clear favorite in this district. They have 4 returning starters, including last years Beaumont Enterprise Super gold player of the year, Tanisha Smalls. Then you have the Freshman phenom being added to the mix, not to mention this group has played a lot of ball together from a young age. #2 Silsbee - They are quick, strong and physical, will make some noise and go two to three rounds deep in playoffs #3 LCM - Talented group that has a Jr who was select Freshman of the year and I believe received a superlative again last year. #4 Lumberton - They are young, have lost some talent, have I believe 2 starters returning or at least 2 that played significant minutes, with a couple more Sophomores filling in to solidify the team. They having a winning culture there and I think it will continue. #5 BC - They lost top two or three players to graduation last year and I don’t know if the talent is their to replace them. #6 HF - Third coach in three years and showed a lot of heart in the games I watched them play last year, but the winning culture in HF basketball is not there anymore. #7 WOS - Dont know much about them, I believe they struggled last year and don’t know of any young ones in that area to step up and make a difference. By all means correct me if any information is incorrect or if you have information to add.

BC HF HJ Lumberton LCM Silsbee WOS Who do you guys have after HJ at the top, or does anybody else in the district have a chance at the top spot?
