Since we are talking HF basketball, Coach English moves to coach HF boys all of a sudden they become a contender!

So a couple of examples of good coaches that produce winning teams year in and year out Dan Hooks/Cornell Thompson WOS Football Barbara Comeaux PNG Football Coach English Ned Basketball There is no way that these coaches have top level athletes that are just born and raised in the places that come walking through the hallways year in and year out! These are good coaches that sometimes do not have the best talent but figure out how to to get the most out of what little talent they may have in down years! If Cornell Thompson moved to Lumberton (No Offense Lumberton) Lumberton automatically becomes a contender with no talent!

Another good example! WOS football cannot just have god given talent walk through the hallways year in and year out! How are these programs able to train these guys because it takes more than just showing up in middle school and only working during the season!

Can a good coach have a successful High School program with poor talent? I’m asking this because how in the world is Coach Lombard at Canyon HS so dang successful year in and year out? He has won 18 state championships in 38 years! No way does Canyon, TX out by Amarillo have that much natural basketball talent year after year! So what has been Coach Lombards secret to success in building this dynasty?

My thought is if you are a bad coach and have good talent you can still win! If you are a bad coach with bad talent you can’t win, but if you are a good coach with bad talent you should be able to coach up bad talent and win some or at least keep the games close!

I guarantee that Sanders yell and screams and Babin screams at Lumberton but they don’t want them gone! You can’t be a A hole too! Like I said talent is probably bad too! But Caption obvious will state you will win with talent and you will lose without it! But destroying a program and making a program to where fewer and fewer kids want to come out for that program on an annual basis takes a special coach! Plenty of coaches yell and scream and kids want to play for them year in and year out!

So in a private message sent to me somebody said “he won almost 90 games in 3 years at lumberton, life is tough if they think he is tough and hard how are they going to react to life in general? Always the blame game.” This is my point exactly! The guy wins 90 games and kids, parents and administrators can’t wait to get rid of him!! Why is that? It’s not because he can’t coach X’s and O’s Or because he can’t win with Talent! There are other things that come along with coaching! My kids have played for some of the best coaches in the area that yell and scream! I’m not opposed to a coach yelling and screaming! Jacks is a unique coach and person that people just don’t like! My kids never played for him either!

I’m not talking about the talent, I’m talking about playing for a Coach that yells and screams and belittle’s his players! Kids for the most part do not want to play for Jacks! See the post right after yours!

So if Central and Ozen combine they go to 6A along with West Brook. That leaves PNG, Vidor, Nederland, PAM, Dayton, Cleveland, Barbers Hill, Baytown Lee, Crosby at 5A then 4A becomes really crowded around here with Lumberton, Livingston, BC, WOS, LCM, Silsbee, HJ, HF, Orangefield, Jasper, Liberty, Huffman, Tarkington

If you combine, will be interested to see who would land the HC job and how they handle that. Coach Brown has a history of winning DC’s but Coach Tae I personally think is the best coach in the area!

Sorry she had to play for Coach Jacks and experience that!

Well I guess Coach Jacks switch to boys team is about as successful as his girls stint was last year!
