Good job LCM, wasn’t expecting to see that, but keep it up ladies!

Crosby played us tough last night! (25-23, 25-12, 20-25, 25-22) The girls played tough and picked it up in set 4 after being down 10-4 early and down 20-15 late in that set making some really good adjustments and got Crosby girls rattled late to rally back and earn the W. The senior girl for Crosby was definitely a force to be dealt with, she is a very good volleyball player!

How did the Lumberton vs HJ scrimmage go?

It is going to be a tough road no matter what. Round 1 - PNG beat Crosby 2-1 in first game of first tournament, so Crosby has shown they can beat us. If they get past Crosby Round 2 - Would probably be Santa Fe who has defeated Shadow Creek. 2 out of the 5 PNG losses have come from Shadow Creek. So definitely another tough match! Looking forward to watching tomorrow!

I have watched them all year long, they have had several injuries and several girls get sick missing games and they haven’t missed a beat. They are a team that can turn it off and turn it on. When they turn it on and play with some high energy and intensity they are hard to beat, problem is they haven’t turned it on and played with a high energy and intensity for an entire match yet! So hopefully they have saved enough in the tank to turn it on for the entire match in the playoffs. They have really good team chemistry and have a lot of fun on and off the court with each other and it has been fun to watch!

Stansbury is a Sr 9 Soph on the team this year with at least 5 starting is not a bad problem to have for next year, but let’s focus on this season first. Little Bost is an Athlete and will be back up QB, could prob run him out wide next year!

PNG was told they would be facing Crosby next Tuesday! Hopefully the flu will not be affecting any of the girls. They had three out against Central Friday, and have one out tonight vs Livingston with multiple girls on JV and freshman teams all out with the flu!

Cleveland will take a big fall this year. They lost three of their returning players to other schools including the district MVP from the last two years (Legacy). Beaumont Ozen lost dominant post player to Legacy. Legacy lost Coach Yak and Alexus so should take a step back as well, but did pick up some really good players, see above.

If Livingston loses last two games to Nederland and PNG it would be a possible three way tie! 21-5A is tough at the top, so it will be difficult for 22-5A teams to advance. I would love to see all the teams advance.

I am anticipating PNG vs K Park showdown in Reg Quarter Finals. I think K Park has the stronger team, but if PNG can play high energy volleyball for 3 sets they can compete with anybody.

Nederland can make it interesting if they can win against Livingston on Friday night.
