  1. HF has alot new faces that I haven't seen before. 97% of them dnt play sports. With the hire of a good coach and bisd nonsense. Many are attending hf. I know first hand it's hard for any transfer to transfer in Hf. We had many over yrs that wouldn't probably be on varsity at other schools till their varsity yr try to come and would definitely make varsity here but couldn't get thru the process due to requirements. As far as laverge rebound it's a 50/50 chance last shot would of went hj way. Hf has proved they can win and rebound with him and w/o him. They beat silsbee without him and he didn't play most 2nd half against Washington.  Edwards had 17 boards by himself that gm not to count how many Coleman had.  So laverge isn't jus hf only  rebounder. Like I stated before hf has lost lots of athletes to schools. No one complains, we simply keep pushing on. But god forbid let athletes who stay in district come aboard and make Hf better. Ppl have a fit.  I can give u a few athletes who attended hf, live in district and went to bmt, ec, hj and played varsity there and was one their best players and that's in the past few yrs but we didn't not bicker about it. Hell my nephew king (c/o 16) was approached by different schools rather it be by friends, parents, alums to attend different school than hf. Edward's his brother was approached by different friends, parents, alum of certain school to transfer. So I wont say recruitment dnt go on cause like I said I know personally it does. HF has lost alot athlete for sporting purposes. Now it seem they are staying home due to good coaches

  2. Bottom line HF has lost plenty athletes to BC,Ozen, Nederland,Ec,Hj over the yr for sport purposes. Now athletes are staying home. There are plenty that stay in fannett estates that attend bmt isd. Remember when Peavy might got hf football job yrs back and it was stated on this forum 7 players would come.  Why do u think that cause that are zoned for hf. We jus lost underclassmen beginning of yr to wb who will be good as hell for them in upcoming yrs. Now ones on Hf varsity definitely live in district.

Get ready for district?   Some have stated they will breeze through it.

I wouldn't say breeze thru but definitely better than this yr. HF is only losing Edwards  and jv probably lost 5-7 gms  if not less than that this season. So it HF definitely will be better this yr.

Silsbee may scale back their tourney schedule but it will be because Sigler wants to, not that they don't get invited to those tourneys.

Dallas ISD has stated they will always have a place for Silsbee. Same for some other tourneys.

Personally, I wouldn't mind Silsbee playing a little more local. But I think Joe will still schedule tourneys outside the immediate area so unless HF goes outside their norm, those two playing may not happen. I will be surprised if Joe schedules HF.

I'm 75% sure Rideaux will go outside the usual Hf area norm for better competition to get HF ready for district

Washington must be a pretty good team because HF is a pretty good team.  The Tigers will have to bring their best game to advance.

Congrats on a fantastic season.  And I'm going to have to second that nomination for Rideaux for coach of the year.  Hands down.  I watched him pretty closely in the two Silsbee games and I have to say I'm impressed especially the second meeting.  It was exactly the right blend of emotion and tactics.  He was made all the right moves.

Washington was quick and rarely missed their shots they  pressed whole gm. But couldn't handle press HF applied starting 4th. Which allowed horns to pull close. HF missed 23 close range shots which was their bread and butter all season. Tween those shots/layups plus free throws HF missed. Game outcome would been different. I wouldn't mind seeing Rideaux get coach of yr. He was definitely the right person for HF job.

    Wow ! Was #10 sick ??

He played. According max prep he was held to 4 pts. Huffman scoring leader was #40 with 16pts. Hats off to coach Rideaux and Horns. He prepares the players each game for who they will be guarding / their strengths and weakness and will switch his lineup to match up defense wise. Truly think Huffman thought it would be a cake walk like last time eventhough they faced us with our center out sick and our backup center at the time who started mid season starting as our forward sitting out for that game  the 1st time around
