I sure don't. Gentry 7A is 5-1-1 and 7B is 4-3.

It was an exciting game, frustrating on our part but fun to watch. Here's hoping the the folks at the UIL take a geography lesson and put GCM and Lee in the same district as BH, Crosby, and Dayton in the next two years. As a parent of two future GCM Patriots I'd much rather play our neighbors where there are natural rivalries than drive to Beaumont every other weekend to play schools we don't know a whole lot about.

Dayton 33 Gentry 26. Congratulations to Dayton on a hard fought win. Three turnovers deep in Dayton territory killed us. Two with long returns deep into Mustang territory. We'll lick our wounds and come back next week to take out our frustrations on Cedar Bayou. Proud of you Mustangs!

About to head home from work. Gonna try to catch the first half of my youngest's B Team game at GCM before heading over to Dayton for the 8th grade A game. Looks like it's about to get wet.

Well we'll find out tonight. Crosby played BH North fairly close too and look what we did to them. Good luck to all the boys playing tonight, let's hope for an injury free game.

Looks like weather could be a factor tonight, but we'll be playing on turf so it won't be muddy like last years game.

Our 7th grade plays Dayton here at GCM. I think your 8 th grade will be playing Horace Mann at Stallworth. Highlands should win that one.

Well if there's one thing the Mustangs do well it's put points on the board. I'm not saying ya'll don't have a good defence, you might have the best we see all year. But if you look back at all the scores I've posted you'll notice a trend. I'll put it in Dayton speak for ya, there's a lot of crooked numbers. More then you can count on all your fingers and toesies. Nobody has shut our offence down yet. Not even BH North. They won the turnover battle and out scored us. In fact, in the two years this team has played together they have been held under twenty once and thirty twice and that was last year in our second and third game of the season. So we'll see what happens.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda. Everyone can make arguments as to why they should have won a close game. Against BH North we had three starting linemen out who played both ways, that's three starting defensive linemen not suited up against a power running team. Sure enough they ran it down our throats. Also we started the game with two crucial turnovers a pick six and a lost onsides kick that spotted them a 14 point lead. We lost by 13. Change those two things and we may win but.......that's football. You have to play with the kids you got and turnovers happen, quartebacks miss passes. Bottom line BH North won, their boys earned it. I'm still hoping BH South pulls off the upset at the end of the season though. ;)   So, now we wait and see what happens next week. Mustangs vs Ponies. It's gonna be a true horse race. We'll see who has the best thouroughbreds in their stable. I forsee a lot of offense and some tough hitting defense on both sides. I hope for an exciting, injury free game. Looks like Gentry and Dayton will be playing for second place unless BH South can pull off a miracle. BH North has gone through the tough part of their schedule unscathed. Good job guys.

Should be a couple of good one's next week in 8A. Undefeated BH North vs Dayton and 4 - 1 Gentry  vs  5 - 1 Crosby both teams hoping to stay in contention.  Crosby and Gentry will be pulling for Dayton to win as they both have a shot at Dayton still. If BH North takes it, the rest of their schedule shouldn't be a problem unless BH South's familiarity with the offense and new in town rivalry gives them the means to pull off the upset.   I don't have enough scores to keep up with the other teams but Gentry's 8B and 7A are undefeated and the 7B team is 3 - 2.   Gentry has Dayton and Cedar Bayou left after the Crosby game.

I like your enthusiasm but we'll see what happens November 4th. It should be a good game. We have a bye this week so me and my boys may head over to Crosby to watch the BH North - Crosby matchup. That should a good game as well. Good luck to everyone tonight.

What makes you think we didn't progress as well? I do agree that if we had played you in the second half the outcome would have been different, we wouid have won by a bigger margin. ;)  Our pass defense was a little suspect earlier in the season. That's why ya'll were able to get back into the game. We had a descent lead at first but we gave up a few big pass plays later in the game. Later in the season the coaches made changes to our secondary and or pass defence improved. It all comes down to match ups. We don't match up well with BH North but we do match up good with Dayton and Crosby.

Haven't heard much about Dayton or Crosby's 7th grades. You've  played both of them and us. Who do think takes district?   By the way, where is Crosby at?! Ya'll need to get in here and pull for your boys.

Ya'll have one more cup cake to beat before you finally get tested. Crosby gets their first test with BH North. We have a bye so I might just pack up the boys and head to Crosby to watch. I think I have a red T shirt somewhere (Sorry my BH friends).   I gotta say that I like the way the schedule played out with all the top teams battling at the end of the season. It kind of gives it a playoff atmosphere.

Talking to him this morning, I didn't realize that all three starting defensive linemen were out for this game for various reasons. I knew one would be out, but all three? Talk about bad timing. But then again if we don't throw that pick six at the begining of the game then lose two on side kicks, this game may still have gone our way.   Anyone know how Crosby did?

This was the game I worried about the most. We just don't match up well with your power running game. I believe we have the best athletes in the district but not enough hosses. That's why we lost to you guys last year but could handle Crosby and Dayton. So I'm hoping for a repeat of last year where you lose to Dayton and Crosby and we still at least win a district or co-district championship. :P   And I'm not even going to get started about the officiating, they didn't effect the outcome of the game, ya'll ran the ball down our throats, but wow.
