When people say football facility, I can tell you BH uses it for way more then football. It's used for baseball, softball (Batting cage nets come down from the ceiling) infield practice on rainy days, throwing, it's used for soccer practice, sports camps, heck I've seen it used for Easter egg hunt when it was raining, they bused the elementary kids over to find easter eggs. It's used for an assortment of things within the school district. It's nice to have a facility like that around here. We are very fortunate over here, we now have turf baseball, softball, soccer, and football fields. More and more schools are doing the same. The complex that Crosby built is super nice. Hopefully, the triangle will stop being closed minded and open up the pocket books and start building them over there.

I think the majority of 6a schools success is through pure numbers. Allen has like 6k students, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to get talent out of that many kids. The lower level Carthage, WOS, etc. I think benefit from the majority of families staying around the area and not moving away. Therefor you have families of athletes that continue to produce more athlete's. You put a good coach in there and now you have the recipe for success. The middle of the road schools which is mostly 5a in our area have some success, but not rings due to some above average HS players, good coaches, and a lot of average to below average players. With all of that said, the golden triangle stays stagnant on population some downward spiral as far as population and the metro area's along with the suburbs are growing like wildfire. More money, better facilities, schools, salaries, you name it. My .02

That's not all true. They don't have Westerberg on there. He's up there, if not #1. -

Some of this I just threw together because my head was hurting, but this will most likely be who's in Region 3. Try to figure out who would be in what district. Houston Waltrip, Sharpstown, Madison, Milby, Northside, Sterling, FB Marshall, FB Willowridge, Lamar Consolidated Brenham, Bryan Rudder, A&M Consolidated, Montgomery, Montgomery Lake Creek, Katy Paetow, Crosby, Manvel (LoL) Central, Ozen, Nederland, PNG, Vidor, Baytown Lee, Barbers Hill, Dayton, Santa Fe Whitehouse, Lindale, Marshall, Hallsville, Longview Pine Tree, Jacksonville, Nac, Huntsville, Cleveland
-
Some will have smaller districts. If there is 16 districts, then East Texas (Nac, Whitehouse district) will be in Region 3.
-
That's what I would think, but didn't know if it was less now or not.
-
Oh, I know. I tried talking Roschon's dad into letting him move with us to Barbers Hill in Middle School, but dad didn't take the bait. Oh well. LOL, I really did try.
-
We know the total number of team for each division, but do we know how many districts there will be for 5a D1 and 5a D2? That would help all of us sitting here trying to figure things out. Thanks!
-
I think this years team would've matched up well with PNG if we would've made the playoffs. Our offensive for most of the year was explosive and our Defense was better then yall's. Don't count us out, although historically PNG has had BH number, we have beat Ned and Vidor in the past. Dayton is struggling bad, so after Crosby, BH will be in the mix along with PNG, and Ned.
-
That's part of the problem when I was looking at possible districts. I read that UIL wants 8 to 9 teams in a district. I don't see how they could because there's not enough 5a D2 schools unless they pull from way out, like Baytown Lee, BH, Crosby, Cleveland, Dayton to go with HISD, but then the Golden Triangle is short.
-
aki1994, pretty soon, we gonna be hijacking your district as well. lol
-
There's a possibility that Baytown Lee goes to Manvel district. Right now I'm looking at that area: FB Willowridge FB Marshall Lamar Consolidated Katy Paetow Santa Fe Manvel Port Lavaca Calhoun Maybe Baytown Lee?
-
I tried looking at schools in 5a D2, I have no clue how they are going to put people. Montgomery and Montgomery Lake Creek you would think would go with the Brenham and others, but I think they get pulled into the East Austin district. Looks really difficult to figure out with less teams and spread out.
-
Schaper will contribute this year as well on the mound.
-
It's going to difficult if Ozen and Central don't combine. The reason being is with Splendora and Cleveland. The UIL has mention that they are pushing for 8 to 9 team districts due to scheduling issues. The north Houston area schools are exploding, so there's not many 5a D2 schools to make a full district. Which means somebody is going to be in a jacked up district. Cleveland, Splendora, BH, Dayton, or Lee might be victims of the split.
-
If Matt Stepp projection is correct, Lumberton will be the smallest 5a D2 school in Texas. His projection for 5a D2 is 1125-1759 Lumberton 1125 Splendora 1145 Cleveland 1446 (growing big time) New 22-5a could be Barbers Hill 1560 Nederland 1546 Dayton 1511 PNG 1493 Cleveland 1446 Vidor 1333 Splendora 1145 Lumberton 1125 Baytown Lee ?

pe2009, which RB is #2. He had good size and speed, but had like 3 fumbles against Cy Ranch. Is he younger or just having some fumble issues? I was at the game and was scratching my head to see a Katy player fumble so many times. Just curious is all.

PNG might be the Region 3 favorite this year with what they have coming back. Ya'll do have some pitching and bats this year. It should be a rematch 3rd round between BH and PNG. Tomball and Magnolia are stacked this year as well as College Station and Brenham. Region 3 is going to be brutal this year for baseball. It's going to be tough sledding for sure.
