  1. Personally the first game you really never know. I think the offensive line for Crosby could be very good and even the twins are gone, they are going to run the ball a lot. With what Nederland had upfront on the Dline last year that they lost and with what Crosby has coming back on the Oline could be the difference. As always though, gotta win the turnover battle and stop somebody. Should be a good start to the season. Hopefully that dang wheel route where the slot receiver doesn't burn the COOGS for the 3rd year in a row on 3rd or 4th and long.
  2. It all starts up front. Personally, I don't like the three man front unless you have at least two studs. Sharp sat in the pocket and picked them apart. Then you go into a pass defense and boom, run it right at you. Elgin and Vidor crammed it down our throat. Vidor ran to the opposite side of Calicut and Elgin just pinched and pulled 3 guys to outside to block. 73 rushes in one game, wow.
  3. It depends on jobs and how far you're willing to drive. I've known people thst lived in Port Arthur that drove this far. When I got stationed in Orange back in 2003, my kids were elementary and middle school age. The most important thing for me was the school system. We settled in Groves and would do it again. Now having been stationed in Ingleside, Grand Prairie, Fort Worth, and Orange, I have heard the term "Armpit" of Texas. Having lived there, I didn't agree with it.
  4. Personally I don't consider Dayton a dark house. I keep pointing to the fact of how y'all had Brenham on the ropes in a down year last year. QB is going to be ready out of the gates this year, you just gotta stay healthy. Crosby, for the first time I can remember, is going to have a filthy O-line. With the RB they have, you'll see a different, but powerful look. Not scoring on 3 play drives and making those 10 play drives could help the defense out tremendously. Depends on how you look at last years game, on one side, you could say Crosby was loaded on the offensive side of the ball and Dayton kept them to their lowest point total in the regular season. If you're Crosby you could say it was the worse half of football they played in the first half playing without 6'5" receiver and found a way to claw back and win. So you can sell it either way depending on it you wear red or purple.
  5. Dayton was down last year and should've beat Brenham, they will be much better this year and the QB has a year of experience under his belt. IMO, that's the one team over here PNG would want to avoid. Of course, if it rains they could start calling crazy plays, ie 2nd half crosby vs Dayton last year,
  6. Uhmm...You insinuating he was recruited? How do you have a "chance to get a kid" at a public school?

You see it every year, kids move around to live with different parents whether it's because of behavioral issues or something else. You know they would never move because there is a better opportunity to play football. UIL would catch it....right?
