Actually, they were in the game because Elgin's QB didn't play in the second half. That gave them a chance, but when Aston got hurt, that pretty much sealed the deal. Playoffs are about match ups and I felt like I was watching Crosby vs Vidor from 2011.

Crosby never plays the better atheletes on both sides of the ball. If they would do that in certain situations they would be a lot better off. After watching PNG play 3 times last year I thought their coach called timeouts in horrible situations. Indians have a lot of talent coming up so only time will tell. That freshman offensive line is going to be very very good. How do you Indian fans feel about the coach?

Logan is going to be a beast on defense, Murdoch is sure handed, QB will work itself out, now if your coach doesn't use random timeouts like I saw against Central and Ozen last year.
-
it's funny how if you respond to someone else, you're the one bringing it up.If I'm not mistaken YOU'RE the one who brought up something about last year. I said Morse would not have looked as good if he started, that's it. YOU brought up Elgin. Don't worry though, 2014 Crosby will put in work on whoever you cheer for too.

When female kickers have played in college don't you think they had special lockers set up and only had access to the locker room like when everyone was dressed. What makes this different?
-
Playoffs are a lot about match ups. When you can't take away what the other team does best and make mistakes, you go home. Bottom line is Crosby missed a golden opportunity this past year and still didn't make it past the second round.

So what happens with all of the youth league and middle school talent? Y'all need some coaching, kids to quit moving, or what?
-
I don't think they are saying that. I think they are saying if you put Nederlands coaches at Ozen, you guys might have played into December last year. Overall you have to say Nederlands program is more successful. Haven't lost a game in district in how long?Ok so you guys basically saying that you rather kids win a football game than get a free college education? Smh
-
Oh, got to get with it I guess. I think this turned a bit from the original conversation. The folks here in Crosby are excited because we have a staff that is working their tails off to get these kids looks they may not have had. There are some bad stories out there from years past. Also don't assume that because we are excited about that that these kids aren't performing in the classroom or the parents aren't sending video out. Remember though that there are some that simply don't have the resources and opportunities as others.

What does MF mean?

Who said the coaches should. I said I would take a coach who works for the kids. Coach Mann asked my son did he want to play football and would he be willing to live in another state. He went to work for him, on his own. He also asked a lot of kids that question. Just because you want to play football doesn't mean you're not focused on academics. I'm saying give me the coach that puts in the extra hours for your kids and yes I sent out video, he went to camps, but Coach Mann got him his opportunity and for that, I thank him.
-
I got you, Casey was before my time. I never got to see him play. Both schools have some things to replace. Crosby will have their hands full with Seay.
-
I know I don't want to be in the same position I'm in at my job in 5 years. No offense but do you think building those contacts in college is a stepping stone for the coach to move to college coaching someday?
-
Bottom line is that it is the parents responsibility, but having a guy like Coach Mann work for your child is priceless. Not everyone is 6-5 and runs a 4.4. Good players often get over looked at these awesome camps because they don't have the eye popping numbers. Plus getting a scholarship sometimes depends on needs of certain schools. They like the player, but only have one scholarship for that position. So having a POC like coach Mann building relationships and finding out what these needs are and selling the players, I'll take it over a guy who just wins any day.
-
Honestly though that's a shame if these kids aren't getting access from colleges. I will say this about the recruiting coordinator at Crosby, he works his butt off trying to get these kids to the next level. The kids are buying in and working a lot harder than in years past with this coaching staff.

Ned beat Crosby 21-7 year before last at Nederland. O-line will be the strength for Crosby next year. Things they'll have to fill are punter, improve on the D line, and linebackers.
-
I was going to say that I was going to wait for some 7 on 7 this before I made up my mind, but I remembered watching PNG play last year during the summer and they were horrible. So I don't think I'll put a lot of stock in 7 on 7.
-
Having lived in Groves I never saw any Ndns hoping Nederland would win that's all I'm saying. That was back in 03-06, maybe things have changed. I respect that you can put your rivalry aside and pull for them, some can't.

Got to hang your hopes on Big Ned, saaaaad. Png fan rooting for the black and gold!

Actually think he is trying to improve his draft stock. Think about a team that needs to rebuild their image, taking a chance on him earlier than he was expected to go. Who knows.

I thought you had The Hill a little high. It's a lot like the old district before the last alignment. Little weaker though having the New Caney schools instead of Lee and GCM. I see Dayton, Kingwood Park, and Crosby making the playoffs with the last spot up for grabs.
