Never an issue about respect- it is a given. All  I'm saying is both teams will improve. Mr BG will agree that the run defense for the past 4 yrs at Manvel was lacking- I think the tide is turning in that regard and will only improve. Would love to see last years offense with what I believe is the best defense that Manvel has had. Having put 2 kids through Manvel, this year may be special.

After watching the first half, my first post was, "too many studs" that's how I started it off.  I know how good the Manvel coaching staff is also because after the first play from scrimmage and Manny went house call, they adjusted to that play.  Manvel is going to make some noise no doubt, I also truly believe that if they are D2, so could Crosby.

Crosby beats Manvel in a giant beat  down  IF they are healthy-drink that koolaid, lol!  Manvel just like Crosby isn't even in mid - season form . I'm all for supporting your own team but no way Crosby threatens Manvel. Manvel's o and d lines set the tone- and in typical Manvel fashion, they let off the gas. We respect Crosby, just not in the same ballpark for 4 qrtrs. This is a young Manvel team compared to years past. Some want to say something about enrollment numbers. How much bigger was Northshore and Pearland compared to Manvel? Manvel was 2-2 against NS and 3-1 against Pland.

Ummmmm, you must understood Liltex on what he was saying.  He was comparing Crosby teams from this year to a couple of years ago.  Plus Tex is a Dayton guy, but supports 21-5a I'll say.  If you look at the post, most Crosby folks gave Manvel the utmost respect.  Probably the best front seven Crosby will see all year no matter how deep they go in the playoffs (if div 2).  That #3 in the secondary was physical.  You can't tell me though if that fumble is recovered at Manvels 10 yard line early in the second half, it could have changed a lot in that game?

  3. I know the young kid was able to scramble once out of done pressure, but that Manvel D line was legit, their second wave of D linemen was better that anything they will face in district.  He got out of some situations just because he is a freak.  If you look at it, he was never able to set his feet and actually throw the ball.  For the record, the one he over threw Craig wouldn't have counted anyway because of the holding penalty.  Speaking of penalties, 50 yards away from the play and all of the blocking below the waist put them in horrible situations all night.

Your district is so bad this year it's hard to judge by playing anyone from over there. Vidor is probably equal to what KP is going to be in 21-5A this year. We'll see how they look against that level of competition but they actually open district play @Crosby in two weeks.

What do you think BH/KP score will be?  Just a guess

I think if Crosby can play defense like this in a nightly basis we're going to be awful tough to beat. Still have some things to clean up but I'm even more excited about the season after what I saw last night:

This is the hidden content, please

Defense do have a chance to be really good.  Hopefully they can clean a couple of things up.  Start week 3 healthy and don't look back.  Now they have some film to study from this year when they meet some quality teams in the playoffs.

#5 Harper should move to corner. He missed a lot of tackles last night

I think they can do a little something different, but they've spent hours coaching the kids so hopefully they know.  I just love the way #4 attaked the ball when he was playing corner.  I thought #30 made some nice plays last night.  That number 21 for Manvel was as quick as they come.

Manvel didn't call off anything. They played their starters until the very last play. They had every intention of putting us away and really couldn't. We snapped a wet ball over the punter's head and Manvel picked it up and ran it in. Another time the punt was blocked on the mishandling of a bad snap and Manvel got at about Crosby's 15 and ended up banging it in with Preston. Those two tds were the difference in the entire game.

Make no mistake, Crosby only scored 7 but Manvel got shut out in the second half. Only calling off the dogs they did was kneeling with :30 left. Manvel did handle us on both lines of scrimmage but the only real difference in the game was Crosby's poor special teams play. I don't think anybody else on the schedule stays within double digits of Crosby.

I have to disagree with a statement of yours.  Was it a kneel down or did he actually run the ball on the last play?

Obviously, you weren't at the game.  Manvel had their first string in until the very end.  Even with 3:00 left in the game they were still trying to get it to their big receiver and score.  They even went for it on 4th down and got rejected.  What's obvious is you don't know what you're talking about.

Starting Defense was in until the end, that Manchild at WR prolly got 5-6 passes his way in the second half and don't forget about the jet sweep( I think one them was with about 7:00 minutes left), but yeah I did see the back up QB with 32 secs come in and run A play.

  9. The snap over the head on the punt for the Manvel TD, missed fumble recovery on about the Manvel 10, and the Preston big play bubble screen were the differences in the game.  Coogs showed a lot of grit and toughness in the 2nd half.  They sure won't face another defense like that in district and they have a blueprint now for the playoffs.  With Manvel I think their weakness is their O line, other than that, they have some freaks.  I honestly thought it was going to get out of hand, but they showed me something last night. Side note, I was just thinking to myself if #19 could play safety and move #1 back to corner and keep #4 at the other corner.

It'll be settled on the field big guy, and we aren't looking for fans over here in bronco land, the ones of us that bleed purple still supported our Broncos when the mistake was made 5 years ago, now the board made it right, and believe me, the fan count is stronger.

So the ones that didn't support the kids during that 5 year span, you gonna welcome them back with open arms? Was a lot of empty seats on that end of 90 last couple of years!

  11. It is ironic, last year people were talking about who Crosby had scheduled in their scrimmage and how weak that was.  Now, it's gonna get served humble pie.  When you schedule a dominant 6A team from last year, you know what you're getting in to.  Haters gonna hate, but one thing for sure, they will have a good blue print on what they need to improve on after the first 2 games this year.

WOS exposed a big weakness in Vidor's pass defense.  If the Hill's QB and receivers are good, could be a long night for the Pirates.  There are a few unknowns. The weather could play a factor.   Does BH know what a grass field looks like :) ? And are they comfortable in their totally revamped offense?  IF Vidor does win, their opponents down the road shouldn't get complacent.  They will improve.  Don't know if they'll actually make the playoffs in a really tough Dist, but they shouldn't be overlooked.

Jayhawk said that BH knows how to defend the slot-t.   Didn't know anyone ran that in 21-5A.   Anyway, I expect it to be a good game.  I hope no injuries, and both teams use this game as a springboard to a good season.

Couple of things, Jayhawks said that because they defense saw it at practice everyday last year.  Second thing is you can't compare the BH QB whoever he is, to that seed thrower WOS has, he makes a lot of defenses look bad.

Sounds like someone jealous to me? What's weak, our district trying to make things better? You need to loosen that Bronco hat, it's cutting off the circulation.

What I think Liltex is saying by using weak is the fact that 4 teams get in.  Not the facility stuff BH has going on, everyone likes that stuff because you need one to do it so other schools will upgrade theirs.
