Yates and Silsbee play a similar style of game, both teams lives and dies with the 3's and fast break points. Yates has the edge with depth, and inside play. I can guarantee you one thing, Coach Wise will not come out of his full court press and history has shown that a team that presses doesn't like to be pressed. It's going to be a good game if both teams make it back to Huntsville.

Comments from RCS Sports The Woodlands defeated Silsbee 68-63 on Tuesday night. The Woodlands were playing without Incarnate Word signee Romello Wilbert who is out with an injury. This is not a good look for Silsbee. Although they are still the team to beat in Region 3, the gap between Silsbee and Yates is "even-steven" at best. The Woodlands' freshman RJ Keene picked up the slack with 17p. Silsbee was led by senior Kalon Barnes who scored 18p in the loss.

This is a weak Woodlands Team this year, 6A School with 5A talent. The Woodlands are big but slow, plays fundamental basketball nothing special about there offense. Silsbee press should cause major problems for The Woodlands. Silsbee wins by 20

Yates does have problems with D1 elite guards it’s written in our history. To Yates defense our transfer players were adjusting to our system. Yates have played 5A Houston Madison,#18, 6A C.E. King, O.D. Wyatt (Forth Worth) and a few cancellations and Houston Christian. Yates and Silsbee style of play are similar, both live and die with the 3’s. I believe Yates has more athletic players and a deeper bench then Silsbee this year. It appears that Silsbee also have problems with elite guards and low post players. If Silsbee isn’t hitting there 3’s, and scoring off of turn overs the outcome may not be a win (40 pts North Shore). District play for both teams will be a challenge to stay focus, but it should give the young players an opportunity to play. The road to San Antonio goes through Huntsville see y’all in March 2018

With the guard upgrade and senior players, Yates has a good change on returning to Huntsville. Every team in Region 3 will be trying to take Silsbee’s Crown. It’s not easy Winning Back 2 Back Championships
