  2. Can't speak for other schools but at Yates those players would be benched and then have to meet with Coach Wise individually and articulate why they should remain on the team.
  3. Every year is a down year for Bellaire as long as Coach Glover is there
  4. I believe Yates beat Tomball Memorial last year in the playoffs. Coach Wise demands respect from his players and Will Not Tolerate Any Player Going Word for Word with the Coach regardless of the player status. I recall Wise benching the starting 5 on his National Championship Team for poor play and not being focused. How many head coaches would bench there starting 5 against the #1 team in the area and state to prove his point regardless of the game??? I have witnessed players go word for word with their head coach.
  5. Is Ozen missing any players???
  6. JJ is putting on a passing clinic against API WOW this young man is VERY GOOD
  7. Game time, let's see of the hype is real with National Ranked API

  10. Beaumont Central vs. Victory Prep 3:30pm Players to Watch: Central-6’5 Sr Nijal Pearson (Texas St.), 6’5 Sr Tyrin Atwood (Lamar), 6’4 So Byron Arceneaux V-Prep-6’8 Jr Jarred Vanderbilt, 5’11 Sr LaJuan Hardy, 6’6 So Efe Odigie Notes: Beaumont Central is coming off of a disappointing showing at the Aldine Invitational where they lost two in a row. They will be coming into this match up with fire in their eyes. The match up at the point guard position will be very key as LaJuan Hardy will either be guarded by the much bigger Pearson or the same sized Wesley Randle. Another key matchup will be what Central does to match up with the versatile Vanderbilt. Arceneaux can be key as he can come in a knock down shots.
  11. A split means a Coin Toss 4 the Division???

  16. I suggest everyone that is planning on attending book their hotel rooms KNOW. The price for the rooms will steady increase.
  17. Looking forward to seeing if Trevon Duval, Terrance Ferguson and Billy Preston can play as a unit. All 3 are highly ranked in ESPN 60. API will be playing in the Texas Christian Athletic League WOW
  18. If I am not mistaken Wheatley Leading Scorer was out with a season ending injury during the regular season. He should be available this season.
  19. Jim Hicks opinion of the Pre-Season Rankings: 5A Beaumont Ozen is listed at #2 in the state (over #3 Beaumont Central) is definitely an eye opener. Actually this is dead wrong and even Beaumont fans know it. Ozen has been getting their heads handed to them during various Fall Ball events. The #2 5A team in the state don't lose Fall Spring or Summer ball vs the likes of Beaumont Kelly. Sure, Ozen's top prospect is still on the football field, but if this young man can indeed lead the Panthers back to state, then he should be selected "Mr. Basketball" or the Most Valuable Player in all of 5A. Elkins is listed at #14 (behind #11 Marshall who lost their best player Christian Barrett via transfer to Westbury Christian). The fact that Bush was not listed among the Top 25 teams in the state is almost as equal of an error as placing Ozen at #2. This Bush team is flat out loaded (they feature the best sophmore backcourt in the state, hands down) and TABC just supplied this team with all the motivation they needed to enter this season with one helluva chip on their shoulder.
  20. I don't believe so
