sure this makes sense.....It will save the $2000 a semester in out of state tuition... not many scholarships you can give in baseball.... so they split money... some will get tuition, some books, some housing, etc. rarely do you get a full ride..... They just need to change the amount of scholarships for all sports to a team roster at least. only football has the full amount....some on scholarships sitting the bench..... Why don't they you say?????.......you have to have just as many female scholarships as male....so most have to cut back to equal the amount. NO need to explain this to me as mine played out of state 4 yrs with 2 diff schools/2 diff states and pd NO out of state tutition. What IF he moved to La and then other out of state schools tried to recruit him, with the reasonings you gave he would turn all down because of the out of state tutition, again this makes no sense as the college coaches are well schooled in 'working things out'. Could be in his 'best intrest' to wait ULL out and not sign in the early signing period if offered UNLESS he's set on going to ULL. Although still somewaht new to HS coaching Coach Landry has done exceptionally well in getting his kids to the next level. BTW isn't the Sundevils coach, a HS coach in La.

Probabally 'mushy' from silt due to the hurricane, havn't fished there in several yrs BUT have caught many Flounders on the 'bayside' on both E and W sides not to mention 100s of trout under the lites. I absolutley wore my 2 boys out on trout or maybe I should say they 'wore the trout out' yrs back. IMO it will be a sad day for sportsman if they close the pass.....
-
With the way he has played this makes NO SENSE at all, after all ULL is not the only school recruiting, and with his talent there will be others, BTW is he a senior this yr??
-
Yep. It could be a great fishing pier. Excellent idea, or could add to Basco's reef, sadly they will probabally do something that will cost milloions and make NO sense....

Fished Fri eve caught a few Specks n Flounders on La side of lake. We got checked by La wardens and got into a BS session with them, I asked about the requirements of lisc when fishing jetties, made a point about the 'point of land' was told as long as your clearly inside the channel no La lisc required. I do realize another warden mite interpret it different. Both La and the TPW were busy yesterday.

[Hidden Content] If you check insted of bashing you will see the academy has instructors that has BEEN where most want to go and without a dought KNOW what it takes to get there. Your "so called pro trainers" are actually instructors with 3 being EX professional players but I guess you know baseball better than them too. Its been a few yrs since I've had anything to do with BB other than a specktator BUT in the yrs n yrs I was, I have ran into lots of people as you and their son ended up sacking groceries at Market Basket. Have you ever thought of taking up Badminton, Croquet or perhaps crochet...

You really are ignorant aren't you? You have no earthly idea what you are talking about. Most every trainer in this area makes his/her money from training individuals, not coaching a team. Do the math - $35 for 30 minutes translates into roughly $300 per night/$1500 per week or $5000-6000 per month. Compare that to $1000 per team per month coaching a team. Do you really think Morgan needs to justify coaching a team when his bread and butter is training? Believe me, Morgan does not need to justify his job, nor does he need to get more kids to join the Gladiator organization. There are kids lining up to be a part of that organization (Not just because of Morgan's coaching ability or his wins and losses). Again, Morgan realizes his future success depends on the success of each player, not his win/loss record. If any of you knew him or even better- if any of you have ever been to one of his practices, you would realize that people aren't lining up to be a Gladiator because of a win/loss record. They are lining up to be Gladiators because of the success of the kids who play for him. All of the "marquis" players in the area high schools were once Gladiators - Statum, Felts, Hicks, etc..... Up until this year, the Gladiators had no teams past age 14, so these players were forced to go elsewhere. The success of the Gladiator organization is not based on an age group's record. It is based upon the development of the player - on and off the field. That, Bullett, is the difference between Gladiator Baseball and other organizations. It is also the reason people are wanting to be Gladiators - not because of the win/loss record of a particular team. and THAT should be the rest of the story>>well said ;D

My fishn partner tore m up Sat morn early at the jetties, dad n I went today(mon) and scratched 8 keepers, saved back a few swimps for a spot that has been producing flounder in the channel. First cast I put a 17"er in the boat, second cast got another but 1/2 shy, croakers and rats killed us from then till we ran of swimps. This was the first time my dads been to Sabine in 20+yrs, he had a ball!!!

Call the ph# in my previous post....
-
Didn't get down to the TPW office, BUT even tho a fishn lisc is NOT needed (senior or exempt)for most fishn, one IS required for fishing where a 'stamp' or 'endorsment' is needed>>Senior saltwater package is 16$
-
What info you lookn for, my sons the pitching coach for them but not sure if he knows all teams involved...

Concerning the fishing lisc requirements on the La side of the jetties, I dropped by the TPW office yesterday to see if they knew the requirements for a 83 y/o to fish in La waters. I was hoping to catch the boss who has been a friend of the family for yrs, I was thinking as long as he's been a warden he would know what was required, he was out but 1 of the ladies there gave me a ph# for any game or fish laws in La. I was told "from jetty to jetty the 2 states share a common boundry" along with "all a Tx senior needs is a Texas Seniors lisc to fish ANYWHERE in La". I question the 'point of land' and once again he stated from jetty to jetty, he even asked someone else in the office who had the same response. We will go again today and see if we can catch the boss in the office and get his interpretation along with a Seniors lisc for my dad. BTW heres the ph# 337-491-2588. PNG Proud, I'm wondering what IF you didnt have La lisc as all you were doing IS possessing fish >>NOT fishing, now IF you told them where you caught them its a whole new game. IMO this is no different than comming in from offshore and cutting thru the La cut on the jetty OR getting stopped by ether states warden anywhere in the lake while JUST riding around. I could see a problem if comming in from 'offshore' with a 'Tex state waters' limit of 4 snapper and stopped in La with their 'La waters limit' of 2.Will post up the answers I recieve today IF I get to talk with Rod Ousley....

What can you tell me about Bossier Parish Community College.

Again AJ25 nails it on the head...this kid is in the know. D3 go to Richland. I do know that Galveston has a requirement that the HC must have a Master's degree....which impressed me. "College at the beach ", got to be worth something. This IS the #2 reason I steered my son away from Galv CC as >priorities could get out of order quick... -
???? I'm thinking you would be hard pressed trying to convince a GW (or judge) you were a spectator only...
-
Pfffffft poor conduct. If you think thats poor conduct or unsportsman like, just wait till they get a few yrs older. I'm sure you would hate me as 'the other coach'
-
OH yea its called fishing, get caught without fishing lisc and stamp while crabbing, you will be given a ticket for 'FISHING without a lisc' ;D
-
Sounds like a Kodac moment....
-
Thanks for the clearing that up... Hmmm seems as if the key words are Rivers and Lakes along with final point of land, I guess when asked I better pull my La lisc out. Yrs back you could take a La limit and 'land' in Texas if you had La lisc but recently that has been changed whereas if you 'land' in Tx you better have a Tx limit, its still legal to posses a La limit IF you 'land' on the La side. Tx state waters go 9 Nm from the shore but La's waters only go 3Km out from land, so with this you can NOT keep a Red caught outside La waters (Fed water) this is huge for the offshore fishermen as Tex has a 12 month Snapper season inside state waters BUT not in La waters, but the way things are shaping up with the feds, in order to fish for snapper in the future you will have to have snapper tags, which will be sold till they meet current TAC. Kinda sucks to know CCA is 100% behind this along with the PEW Foundation, I wonder how many tags the PEW will buy that will never get used, which is their #1 agenda>> to keep us as recs off the water..BTW YES I did say CCA is 100% behind this AND the commercial fishermen....

I see no differance in the East side of the lake rite UP to the mouths (outside)of the La bayous or the inside of the jetties. Supposably Tx and La have an agreement on ALL the bordering waters, if I were asked (by La wardens) for my lisc while inside the jetties I would NOT show my La lisc >NO WAY, they would get my Tx lisc and if a ticket followed I would for sure contest it EVEN if it would be in a La court, IMO its BS to say the least. I need to make a trip to the TPW office to pay tax on the new sled and will for sure bring this up with the boss warden, seems as IF this IS going on the Texas wardens should wait at the dock on the La side and stop all boats before they trailer and ask for Texas lics although most that put in there are Texas residends with La lisc, landing a La limit, or could do on Toledo Bend as it IS the same thing the La wardens are doing on Sabine>>isn't it??
