Set you up a directional feeder, its the time if the yr they will start using it. If you havn't started feeding them yet, you mite get some PVC, make a circle about 15-20' across and feed inside if the pipe until you have them feeding regular, then remove pipe, the pipe keeps the feed inside so as to not float off before they get it. It also helps if you feed at a regular time dailey...

Hmmm "runs well" at 7.15 in the 60, thats not really burning the bases up, 7.15s ok for a pitcher but somewhat lacking for a hitter tho...WW

NOT new for sure heres a little info and a email to send your comments Closing Rollover Pass Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson is leading the effort to close Rollover Pass as soon as possible due to the high maintenance costs to the U.S. Corps of Engineers for keeping it open and the erosion the pass causes on the Bolivar Peninsula. The process of closing the pass, however, will take time. Following is a brief overview of what this effort will entail. Commissioner Patterson will seek money from the Legislature this session to close Rollover Pass. The 81st Legislative Session begins on January 13. Closing Rollover Pass, like any project on the coast, would require a permit from the U.S. Corps of Engineers. Various studies would be required by the Corps as part of that permit application. Once a Corps permit is received, construction may begin. Land Office staff is already working toward this goal. The entire process — doing studies, obtaining permits and actually construction — will take more than a year and possibly longer. Here is his e-mail, write to him, Just be aware he has a habit of replying snarkily to rude or insulting e-mails. Be respectful, it goes a lot further towards our goal! [email protected]. -

I'm not aware of any rule changes in NCAA but I will say, when my son played for Seminole in 99 they had a catcher (Cade Johnson) transfer around mid-term from Texas because not getting playing time and the players in front of him. He took the role of starting catcher, went on to set the current record on HRs in JUCO, was taken in the second round by Mill. IF he would have stayed at Texas there is no telling what could have happened, you never know what a yr will do as some kids excell with the coaching they get in the first yr in college ball. BTW Cade was offered a redshirt or transfer he took the later. BTW redshirt or not a player has 5 yrs to play 4 even if a medical redshirt...or thats the way it was...

I for 1 feel just the opposite...WW

What happened to him and San Jac??? Whatever, it was a good move for SJ...WW

I'm thinking Jasper has NO choice, BC does and more than a few play BR, I had a choice and IMO it helped mine. If you do some checking LL has changed some rules to allow Allstar teams at a lower level than what they were for yrs n yrs, they couldn't stand the after season Allstar games PONY put on in all age groups...WW

Probabally get chastized for this but I always coached my pitchers to thro at the batter during a suicide, for several reason>> to move batter out of the way, bad pitch to put down, over hands usually gets poped up, a hit batter kills ball n runner returns...WW

Hmmm the loss of my brain cells is directly related to the late 60s n early 70s, BTW Eagle you ever check on the memorial @ Roadrunner park??...WW

There is NO comparison in LL to PONY ball >>>>NONE and that is pure and simple. Been there, done that. I took a 9y/o Allstar team to Silsbee from Buna 22yrs ago, the next yr was my last in LL and I never looked back NOR do I regret taking my youngest to PONY, the only regret I have is NOT taking my dads advice and moving both my sons ASAP. You ever had a controversy in a LL Allstar tourn ?? if not be advised you will be waiting on a return ph call from Williamsport Va, if in PONY a director is on site and can rule after the play. If you were to take a 13y/o Allstar team that came up thru LL and pr them with most any team from PONY it wouldn't take long to see the diff. BTW ask most any LLer to watch a Mustang or Bronco game and see what they would want to play, once again, its pure n simple...WW

I don't know HOW many times I've seen this but only 1 got it in the earhole and he ended up face down on top of the dish, then he got up and took first...WW

There was another that graduated with Tal Light went to Seminole also and played for the Yankees, can't remember his name tho...WW -
I'm not a BC fan but a fan n friend of the coach, I'd be willing to bet the farm coach Landry will approach ALL games as a championship game, afterall he's a product of a JUCO coach whos first name was Zero and he took that name because thats the # of games he expected to loose yrly...WW

Still somewhat disagree, I always have looked at the situtation and do know why the rules are in place and the reason behind them. The only part of this rule that can be considered JUDGEMENT is wether its a ball or strike along with was the batter trying to avoid the pitch. Anytime a batter steps into the box the pitcher has a chance on getting him out in a single pitch just as the batter can change things with 1 swing so how can the count on the batter matter in the least, say its 0-2 pitcher throws a 60mph curve that don't break, batter makes NO attempt to avoid incomming pitch so as to take one for the team and gets hit, does it matter where he was at in the box, if crowding the plate he has to see another pitch but if he's in the middle he gets first>???? IMO it don't matter in the least where the batter is in the box, what the count is or how fast the pitcher thros, the BOOK says he MUST make an attempt to avoid getting hit, standing still watching the ball hit him is exactly why this rule is in place, and to me this is plain and simple. BTW once a batter gets beaned center-mass with some gas I promise you he'll try and avoid it next AB unless he's retarted or at least thats what I have experienced in my short time with the game...WW
-
I still somewhat disagree with both of your interpretation of this rule, first point being "if a batter was in the middle of box and the pitch was >>thrown at him< you would award him first even if no attempt was made to avoid" How do you know the pitch was thrown at him unless the pitcher missed him the prior pitch, I do know some are hit intentially BUT 99% of the time the pitcher is trying to throw over or close to the plate and IF you thought the pitch was thrown at him, pitcher should be sent to the bus. In the few games I've watched or been a part of I see no problem with a batter trying to avoid a 85+ fastball unless he's mentally retarded OR >>>trying to get hit, BTW only a handfull of pitchers touch 85 in HS ball, even in the Pros they manage to try and avoid a 95+ pitch if nothing other than turning their shoulder. You then go on and say, "I'm not giving him first if he's hanging over or crowding the plate" WHY NOT if he's not in the zone and tried to avoid the ball. Tell me what does it matter where the batters is, I always thought a strike was a pitch over the plate no matter where the batter is IF he's in the box, the way you explained it, your expand your zone if the batter is crowding the plate. Dennis I do know you didn't meen in the first part "thrown at him" but thats what you wrote and I had to respond...WW

Only judgment would be a ball or strike, could be considered judgement on wether the batter made an attempt to move, but clearly there is no judgement in applying this rule, if the batter made NO attempt, the rule plainly states, "if outside the strike zone its to be called a ball" nowhere does it say what your trying to imply. I didn't make the last yrs state meeting either but I was at the one the yr before...WW
-
Dennis I do agree IF the balls in the zone BUT he also said if the ball was outside zone and the batter made NO attempt to avoid being hit he would award the batter first, THIS IS NOT JUDGMENT, sorry but the batter, according to the >>rules<<MUST make an attempt to avoid being hit,>> BALL or STRIKE. I do and have always wanted any ump to just go by the rules, if I was the coach and this happened I would be asking for time before the batter/runner got out of the box, and Dennis you know this is true about me...BTW how could ANY chapter aprove something thats contrary to what the book clearly states...WW
-
Sorry Oldman BUT opinions does not matter in BB, the rules plainly states "if the ball is outside the strike zone it is to be called a ball if no attempt was made to avoid being hit" no judgement call here...WW
